Paddy Power Aus brand closing to UK customers, encouraged to open Paddy Power accounts

Old / Expired Link (subscription)

More housekeeping than a withdawal to be honest, just making the UK application cleaner as they will not have to include the Aus brand in full as a UK facing firm, I am 99% sure their operations in Aus are licenced so not a grey market issue.

Royal Vegas just sent me a 30% deposit bonus offer, and invited me yet again to take part in their promo, which ends on the 30th September, with cash winners being paid early in October. This isn't going to catch me on the hop, but how many UK players are going to get caught out shortly because they have not been told that the casinos are pulling out, and even if they know about what's happening, they may assume that because they are still receiving the invites the operator has "everything sorted" with respect to the new rules.

I have had emails from GoWild and Ruby Fortune saying they are pulling out. Even one from Crazy Vegas the day AFTER they pulled out.

diagf UK gambling commission. pathetic.

hmm. sites not now uk licenced given months and months notice that they will have to be and it is the fault of the regulator that these sites (they don't regulate) manage it with bad customer service?

I bet they haven't stopped beating their wife either.

Sites can moan about licence fees imposed, or the forthcoming tax but the customer service thang, that's down to them.

It seems to be mostly microgaming that have been sending all the emails and some playtech.

Not heard anything from any of the sites like Casinoluck, Guts, BetAt , MrGreen (tho im assuming mrgreen is staying with all the advertising on uk tv)etc. Hoping they are all staying in UK market but it would be good to find out for definite.

I'll help you out here with my own personal speculation seeing as none of them are being forthcoming.

CHANCES OF GETTING A UK LICENCE

Casinoluck - Maybe but doubtful, I would say there is a reasonably small chance.
GUTS - very likely
BETAT - 0.0000000000000000000000000000001%
MrGreen - very likely

My own guesses.

True blue bingo & giggle bingo (accredited) shuts to U,K from sep 30th, Sending people to betway bingo

Casino UK is shutting down. They sent an email to affiliates saying:

Due to changes in regulations we will no longer be trading in the United Kingdom and as a result Casino UK will be migrating all existing UK players to a carefully chosen, mutually beneficial partner, best suited to your needs.

They did not name the "carefully chosen partner" but I'm betting on Betway like all the other MG casinos.

A casino with UK in its name is closing to UK players?
But didnt UK players get other VPL branded casino accounts migrated to casino UK? And now that casino is closing the doors

Just been on Casino UK live chat and asked the chat operator if it was ok if i post this on a forum i go on........

You are now chatting with Julia

Julia: Hi there, how are you doing today?

Me: Hi.Fine thanks.

Julia: Great. How may I assist you?

Me: I have just seen on a website that Casino UK is now closing to UK players. Could you tell me if this is correct please

Julia: Yes that is correct.

Julia: CasinoUK has now been regulated for players residing in the UK.

Me: So its not closing to UK players?

Julia: No it's available for UK players, that's the only Casino you would be able to play on.

Me: Thats great

Me: Do you mind if I copy this chat and post it on an internet forum I go on to inform people that casino UK is not closing to UK players

Julia: Yes that's fine.

Me: Thanks for your help Julia, bye and have a good day

Julia: Thank you :) Same to you!

Well, the email to affiliates seems to clearly state that it's Casino UK that is closing down to UK players, yet CS are saying it isn't, quoting what players have been told earlier.

Now, which of these is actually true?

The problem is that last time, Vegas Partner Lounge only announced the changes AFTER they had already happened.

What I understood was the all UK players would migrate to Casino UK, and then Casino UK would close to NON UK players, leaving it with ONLY the UK players. The non UK players at Casino UK would be migrated to another Vegas Partner Lounge casino, not a "preferred partner" like Betway.

casino uk email does state

Ensure that you have removed all Casino UK creatives from your sites by 18 September 2014, and please do not send us any UK traffic in the future.

So either the email has been sent out in error or CS have been kept in the dark.
Thats why i asked CS if it was ok to post the chat in case they have been told not to say anything to players, but they were hapy for me to post it.
I just find it strange that UK players on VPL casinos have been migrated to Casino UK and now thats booting us out

Well, that's pretty damn clear!

UK players are about to get screwed AGAIN by this operator:mad:

We have all been lulled into a sense of security that we are now playing in the post UK regulation environment in Casino UK. It looks like this is a false sense of security, and what was REALLY happening all along was that we were all being rounded up into a single skin, so that we could all be closed out in one go.

It looks like Casino UK is intending to close just before Oct 1st, and any UK players sent by affiliates will only get to play for a couple of weeks.

I have just now cleared out my Casino UK account. I was trying to play the €20,000 but the tournament errors were making it impossible to join, so I played the normal games and cleaned out with a nice little win this morning.

There seems no point in continuing to try playing in the €20,000 as it's possible that I may get cut off before it's over.

Just when UK players start to feel that they have prepared for the changes, something like this comes along.

This gives us more uncertainty as those casinos we THINK are staying with the UK may after all not be.

The only way for us to be sure is to see whether the casinos are listed on the UKGC website as having applied for a licence. So far, Casino Rewards as shown up with applications in for almost all of it's skins. Next month, we can be surer still as the websites should be displaying the UKGC logo.

This is most perplexing. The right hand and the left hand are completely at odds with each other:confused:

The email gives little room for interpretation, and goes against the email that PLAYERS received a day or two after they were all migrated to Casino UK from the other sites in the group.

What is even stranger is that they are staying put in two rather problematic markets, Australia and Germany, which are at best "grey markets" with the governments of those countries seeking to drive offshore gambling operators out.

As of this morning, newly migrated Casino UK players have been told NOTHING!

Last week, I even got an email from my VIP host, and this gave no indication of a further change post migration. It also seems that all the effort made to migrate UK players over to casino UK was a complete waste of time and effort, both on their part and that of Microgaming. Why didn't they just leave UK players where they were, and then close them out at the end of the month:confused:

Their support are STILL maintaining the "migration story", and are saying nothing about a total closure to UK players within the next couple of weeks.

Well, I am taking the worst case scenario approach (again), and will not deposit any more into Casino UK until I at least have a date of closure, and only if this allows enough time to play the €20,000 will I deposit one last time.

If this is all wrong, down to a misunderstanding between the management and the affiliate team, a rep had better come here to clarify the position.

That's the issue - sites polarising between serving white markets vs those that serve the grey markets.

Its also not over as Microgaming need to get their licence including declaring their operations with both and getting that duality approved by the UKGC.

For any 1 interested here is the email,

Lisa: Hi there, how are you doing today?

Me: Hi, fine thanks

Lisa: How may I assist you?

Me: Could you tell me if Casino UK is closing to UK customers when the new licensing regulations come in please

Lisa: No, Casino UK will only be accessible to players from UK only

Me: Ok thanks, its just that i have seen an email from a star partner affiliate saying not to send any more UK traffic to Casino UK after
the 18th September

Lisa: Are you an affiliate of Vegas Partner Lounge?

Me: No, but i am an account holder and would like to know the truth about my account at Casino UK

Lisa: Casino UK is not closing. We are going to partner Casino UK with Roxy palace casino, which will begin from the 18 September 2014. Due to the new licensing laws in United Kingdom, Roxy Palace will be managing all Casino UK players. But in no way will the casino close nor will your account or gaming be effected.

Lisa: You will receive correspondence from the casino within the next 48 hours with a full update on the entire process.

Me: Ok thanks. So Casino UK will no longer be available to UK players, we will have to play at Roxy Palace instead

Lisa: I do believe that is the case. Unfortunately, we are also still awaiting an update from the casino manager with precise happenings. We will have a full and final answer for all UK players within the next 6 hours.

Me: To be honest, its like pass the parcel. First my Sun Vegas account is given to Casino UK and now that is going to Roxy Palace

Lisa: We do apologise for that. However, the transfer will be a good transfer for all our players. But again, as I do not have all the information a this point, I would suggest that you please contact us again in a few hours so that I can give you a more detailed explanation as to what is going on\

Me: Thanks for the information Lisa. Bye and have a good day

Lisa: You too :)

Lisa: You welcome

Lisa: Bye

Telling your customer service staff to lie to customers is not a good sign. Lisa, best move would be to redo that CV and go somewhere with respect for customers and staff.

Seen the Rep twice in this thread in the past 15 minutes and still silence.
I dont know why everything is hush hush.
They have let affiliates know so obviously VPL know whats going to happen.

2 week casino break for me i think

We should have started a thread on who is remaining in the market - not who's bailing. Since it seems like just about everyone. :p

So far the accredited casino list of UK licensed casinos is looking like this:

32red plc casinos
Betway
Bet365 (?)
Boyles (?)
Betfred (?)
Coral
Roxy Palace Group?
Grosvenor Casino (?)
Mr. Green (?)
Paddy Power (?)
Sky Vegas (?)

Notice all of the question marks? If some of you can clear these up for me, that would be great.

I was called by VIP early this afternoon. It's all true unfortunately, and Lisa is being rather vague. It's not a "partnering" or "managing our UK players", it's a full on second migration of UK players from Casino UK to Roxy Palace (and by virtue of this, and the fact that I was passed to Roxy Palace VIP in the phonecall), I can now say that it's pretty much 100% certain that Roxy Palace can now be classed as "staying in the UK".

On Thursday, around midday, players logging in to Casino UK will again trigger the migration process as before, and the end result should be the same account and password, but in Roxy Palace. Balances, loyalty status & points, etc will also be migrated. Roxy Palace will then send a formal welcome out to the newly migrated players.

This does of course leave some players with the dilemma of duplicate accounts, and to be on the safe side, players in this position should probably pick one and have the other closed, or at least get something in writing that shows that the duplicate account term has been waived for them.

For VIPs at least, Roxy Palace seems keen on retention, and there are likely to be some "migration offers" coming along.

Those half way through the €20,000 MPV, or who have a prize position in the Argyle Open MPV, should take notes & screenshots so that if necessary they can make sure that they are not diddled out of any prizes due.

VIP suggested that they would take a snapshot of the €20,000 tournament on Thursday, and pay the positions as they stand. I am not convinced as this would possibly irritate non UK players who expected there to be another 10 days left, but not doing so would wind up UK players who had invested heavily.

Yet again, I have been saved because the long standing technical issue with MPV at Casino UK locked me out completely this month, even though last month I was able to win the event on a "temporary alias" created by all accounts being opted in at their end.

It just shows, even when we think we have identified a casino that is staying put, things can change suddenly, and we find ourselves out in the cold.

I thought the UK was a key market, yet it seems that most casinos are ditching UK players, even when they have a casino specifically branded to attract UK players.

It's going to get REALLY odd because we will have Casino UK, all things British on the website, yet any UK players trying to register will find that the UK is a banned country:confused:

Affiliates should now be asking questions as to how tracking will work for those players that they originally brought from the UK to a Vegas Partner Lounge skin, that then passed to Casino UK, and then exited to Roxy Palace. At best, it will involve said affiliates having an account with the Roxy Palace program.
