I still play Dead or Alive from time to time - have not had anything worth mentioning since my one and only double wildline in March. Its been all down hill since then!

One thing I have noticed recently (in my experience at least) is I am triggering bonus rounds more frequently than I did in the first 3 months of the year (when I hammered this slot hard in search of a wildline). Its a pity these bonus rounds have paid crap all (conservative estimate - 50 bonus rounds since March nothing over x200 !!!)

I actually did a bit of a count up and since November 2015 until last week, I have had 12 wild lines and one 5 scatter win.

Perhaps the slot is trying to take it all back but I won't let it happen. Like you, I am going to play it a lot less now for a while (will stick to the odd £25 deposit once a week or so) and give some other slots a try.

I had countless sessions on DOA but i only took those in account from February 2016:

- 17% gave me 2 x free spins before spin 100
- 78% gave me a 5OAK minimum "glasses" before spin 100
- payouts from these first bonus rounds averaged at 46 x bet

- starting session on 0.05 denomination - bet size 0.45 - 1.80

- 34% gave me free spins before spin 100
- 0% gave me 2 x free spins before spin 100
- 5% gave me a 5OAK minimum "glasses" before spin 100
- payouts from these first bonus rounds averaged at 21 x bet

- starting session on 0.10 denomination and higher - bet size 0.90 - 4.50

- 0% gave me free spins before spin 100, earliest was spin 136 (payout 8 x bet)

I had too once the sheer luck to hit a WL on 4.50EUR at Redbet, but i have been playing DOA intensively for 1 year now with an average of 6.300 spins/day and appr. 75% of my play is on bets 1.80 - 4.50, yet 90% of my WILD LINES are on bets 0.90$ and lower. Also all 5 x scatter were on 0.90 and lower.

I majored in mathematics with focus on statistical analysis, hence gathering data is a sort of hobby for me

The above results just don't add up if I look at it scientifically and logically. These are sample sizes over 100.000's of spins, not just some short quick punt. I played on average over 12,000 spins / day this month, hence for me these results show now randomness whatsoever, rather the opposite.

It is not only this slot that does it. I found the same with Book of Ra. When playing at £0.10 a spin you get more bonus rounds opposed to playing at £1 a spin.

Perhaps it is coincidence? Who knows and perhaps best we don't because else we may all stop playing them.

I think people underestimate just how high variance this game is (and most other slots).

I've span probably 10's of thousands of spins before I hit 5 scatters and then had 3 in the space of about 6 weeks. Not had any in the last 10/12 months and may not ever again.

On the contrary I've played Great Blue, a slot at Playtech for probably 3 years and never even had 4 wilds, nevermind 5!

It is indeed a beast on high bets.

I won $1,000+ 3 times in the past 2 days with 0.45 - 1.80 bets, yet yesterday at Bet-AT 2K lost with 3.60-9$ bets and today at Slotty 3K lost with 4.50 - 9.00$ bets. And always the same pattern, hundreds and hundreds of spins not even a 5OAK K's or A's, then finally free spins (longest i waited was 1096 spins) and it pays 10-20x bet. After some 2K in losses i get then maybe a 5-600$ payout and that disappears in no time with any further bonus rounds.

I'll be damned that every time i try high bets the slot is not giving anything at all, yet on small bets i can play for hours on a 100$ deposit.

OK, i did a more exact stats evaluation:

Total spins played since Jan 2015: appr. 2.43Mio / 400 days = appr. 6.750/day on average
74% of my play was 1.8$ - 4.50$
4% - 9$ and higher
13% - 0.90 - 1.35$
9% - 0.9 - 0.72$

In total i had 16 WILD LINES and 6 x 5 Scatter

WL's
- 1 x 0.09$
- 1 x 0.27$
- 1 x 0.36$
- 6 x 0.45$
- 4 x 0.90$
- 2 x 1.80$
- 1 x 4.50$
- 0 @ 9.00$

5 x scatter
2 x 0.18$
1 x 0.27$
1 x 0.36$
1 x 0.45$
1 x 0.90$

Conclusion:

- in 78% of my medium to high bet play or roughly 1.9Mio spins i had 3 WL's - this equates to 1WL in 630,000 spins!!!
- in 22% of my low bet play or roughly 0.53Mio spin i had 13 WL's and 6 x scatter - this equates to 1WL or 5 x scatter in a mere 28.000 spins

For me as a statistical guy this screams that something is not right!!! From the amount of spins you would think that a WL or 5 x scatter would be more often on higher bets

EDIT: just FYI i don't complain about losses, i am still ahead on the slot overall. It is just so difficult to hit anything decent on a high bet. I will go back to low-medium bets on DOA as the high bet sessions are just to painful and never any fun.
