:( Lasseters and Aus Vegas just sent out emails announcing "great news for roulette players". The great news? They lowered the limits. Now instead of being able to bet $200 on one number at Aus Vegas, and $400 at Lasseters, you can now only bet $50.

If you like roulette, it is back to Intercasino or VIP where you can bet $500 straight up on a number, but the graphics are not very good. Some RTG casinos allow $250 with much better graphics.

"Great news?" :p

I would just like to know the reason behind this action. -Can they no longer take the variance of big bets?

Roulette Limits at Ausvegas and Lasseters

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry to hear that you disapprove of the new limits structure.
It is true that straight up bet limits have been lowered, but the overall table limits have been increased to $23,850. We believe this will provide a lot more flexibility for players who consistently bet larger amounts.
Our historical data shows that the number of straight up bets placed on a single number above the new limit of $50 was very minimal and it was decided that this would not have a significant effect on our players.
I would like to apologise to anyone who consistently places straight up bets of $50 or more on a single number at Lasseters or Ausvegas, but there simply aren't many that do.
Once again. I'm sorry to hear that our new limits have not been viewed approvingly.
Hopefully, our ongoing improvements, new games and features will be compensation for any inconvenience the new limits structure may cause.

Kind Regards,

Fair enough - but surely the idea should be to cator to ALL your customers needs?

If you lose one customer becuase of this then surely it's a bad decision. Why not keep the betting limit the same on the single number as well as the other increases?

All higher limits mean is that customers betting at these stakes are going to lose faster in the long run - although obviously it opens you up to higher variance.....but I'm sure you know this anyway.

Just a bit chicken of the variance I guess :) ;)

Make it count towards the wagering requirements

So far there is only one casino that I can find that counts roulette towards their patrons wagering requirements. Do you guys thank you can do that?

I still play roulette some (even though it doesn't contribute towards the required bonus wagering), but it would be nice if I didn't have to switch games just to meet the requirement.

Thanks,
Stanford

Really????

What casino is that????? Roulette counts????? :what: :what:

AFAIK Ritz Club (Crypto) allows roulette wager.
Sorry Tdoggy - no US :(

Renaming thread since I don't think these casinos are going downhill, and this thread has not proven that this is the case either.

Quite a few casinos allow Roulette in WR!
Even a couple of MG's.
These definitely do:-

Casino on Net
Virgin Games (Currently 150% sign up bonus!) & probably the others with that software.
Harrods

(There are some others, but I'm at work - so don't have my data to hand right now!)

Of course, low risk, or so-called 'even money' wagers are NOT allowed in WR at ANY casino.

actually virgin games aren't prohibiting it. They have nothing in their terms and conditions about it at the moment (they used to ban blackjack as well, except for their silly 'blackjack pays 1-1' top hat blackjack, but they have new 'all games are allowed' rules).

Even money wagers would definitely be ok at virgin games - if you bet the WR on either odd or even. The even money bet isn't really the problem, it's the fact that you can play with no variance (a fixed loss) by betting the right amount on odd, even and zero. The same thing could be done at baccarat - 100 on the house, 95 on the player, which has a fixed loss. There are a couple of places that allow baccarat (which is an even money bet), including Ladbrokes. If it's allowed, there's absolutely nothing wrong with betting 'even money', it's 'zero risk' strategies that casinos don't like.

Virgin's terms and conditions do not actually prohibit low risk (or zero risk) wagers at the moment, so it appears you can currently play a no-risk roulette strategy there. I wouldn't recommend it though, because you never know if they will refuse to pay you your bonus (which is paid after meeting the WR).

Virgin games use wagerworks (which is a model of good practice I might add - even their slot machines have posted theoretical payout percentages), and every wagerworks casino sets their own bonus rules, they just have exceptionally liberal terms and conditions at the moment (although previously you could either play 97% return blackjack or some short pay video poker games, or other even worse games).

I bow to your far superior Mathematical knowledge :notworthy , but surely even you will admit that absolute zreo risk betting on Roulette is completely impossible?

If you have a fixed loss whatever number comes up, then your risk is zero - your loss is predetermined.

Virgin refunds half of losing bets on odd/even bets.

So if you bet

2 on zero
72 on odd
72 on even

If zero turns up, you get 2 * 35 = 70 - half of 72 - half of 72 = 70 - 72 = -2

If odd or even turns up you win 72, and lose the other 72 and the 2 bet. 72 - 72 - 2 = -2.

If you did this 6 times, you would have lost exactly 12. Your risk is therefore zero, because you can lose no more than this.

72 bet on odd 12 times by contrast could result in 12 evens coming up, giving a maximum loss of 864. This has risk, as your winnings are unknown.

If you bet no-risk you could guarantee a loss of 12 in meeting the wagering requirements for their 75 bonus, giving a profit of 63. I personally would never do such a thing, as I would much rather win 150 :D and it's a sure way to make yourself unwelcome for future promotions. But it is possible - your profit is 63, and you have not risked your money.

you have not risked your money.
Ah yes! Not risked YOUR money. That is where some confusion arrises over this issue.
What you are saying is you can meet the WR using bonus funds, with a known loss, but never have to risk your own money. (i.e. your deposit).

People who do this deserve what they get!

Pesonally I bet on various blocks of 18-20 numbers with differing chips on each, changing the pattern on 'gut feel' - and always end up blowing my stack!
You can't beat roulette - but it's fun trying! ;)

Boo!!!

You wouldn't want to play at Ritz anyway - their minimum stakes and WR's are way too high in proportion to the bonuses they offer. :(

Virgin & C.O.N. should be OK for Americans though...
