New to the forum and new to online gambling (Except poker) and I have had a rubbish experience with 888.com. I would strongly discourage anyone from using them as it seems a rediculous policy they have.
You can deposit money, risk it and unless you spend £3000 on the tables, you can only cash out what you put in??? does that sound fair?
You deposited, and received a bonus. You would then need to complete a wagering requirement before you can withdraw anything. Instead of completing this wagering, you decided to pull out your own deposit and continue to play with their money, which is comprised of the winnings. I think I've got it right so far?
When you withdrew your deposit, the casino wiped out the bonus and winnings. You are upset that you weren't allowed to pull your own money out and play virtually risk-free. Yes?
Your grounds for complaint are:
1. Dyslexia. You couldn't read or understand the terms and conditions.
2. You had gambling problems in the past and you weren't allowed to take back your deposit without consequence.
3. You don't believe there should be any restrictions in regards to bonuses and it is all a scam.
Well, firstly you write very well for someone with dyslexia. I've known some others in that same boat who really struggle with expression.....but maybe yours is very mild. So, if that's the case, there's no real excuse not to read and understand the terms. I mean, you're basically saying you knowingly agreed to a contract/agreement that you didn't/couldn't understand.....that in itself is a very poor choice, and, dyslexic or not, it is no excuse. If you weren't able to comprehend the terms, you should have had someone assist you e.g have a friend read them to you. Sorry, but complaint #1 is bogus....it is like a player who cannot speak or comprehend English depositing and taking a bonus and insisting the rules don't apply to them because they couldn't read them. It's ridiculous.
Your second complaint is strange, and makes me wonder about the first one again. You say you've had gambling problems in the past, but that you're "New to online gambling except poker". Well, even poker rooms have bonuses and terms, so how did you manage to read those? Sorry, but I'm not convinced, because you ADMIT that you didn't want the bonus, BUT took no steps to have it removed I.e contact support, but rather you went to the tables and played.....even though you ADMIT you didn't understand what you were getting into (not convinced of that either).
Lastly, you think that when you receive a bonus I.e. the casinos money, you should be able to withdraw your deposit at any time and play on their dime. Well, there are a few places that allow this (minus bonus amount) but they are few, and 888.com is not one of them (which you would have known had you read and understood the terms). So, in your opinion its a scam. Well, its a case of "there's no such thing as a free lunch" which any reasonable person knows, and such a person would also know there will be restrictions on what you can or cannot do with your bonus money.
Requiring players to wager a certain amount before being able to withdraw anything is a reasonable method for the casino to give itself a reasonable chance to win to counter the extra chance they have afforded the player by giving them extra funds, and it is not an industry-wide "scam' as you claim (from your extensive experience in online casinos).....nor is it a huge issue for reasonable and sensible players. What most definitely IS a "scam" of sorts and a major issue is players not bothering to read and understand the terms attached to the bonuses they accept.....and then screaming blue murder when they lose their winnings because they broke a rule they "didn't know about". Well, in these cases, as in yours, it is because they did not read and understand the terms, EVEN though they agree to these terms when creating their account even before making a deposit (which I'm sure neither they nor you did either).
The fact that you're dyslexic means that you should have done even MORE than the average player to ensure you understood your obligations. Sorry, but it is not an excuse.
Treat this as a learning experience, as you have no chance with ecogra. If you require assistance with terms etc in future, I'm happy to help you as I'm sure others are too. Just accept you made a mistake and use it to grow wiser.
