    Hi there,

i'm interested maybe on some point in the future do some affiliate website. Not a "huge" thing, more because i would like to share the experiences that i personally had with some casinos with someone else, and if someone else like's my experience i may get some money if he joins a casino because of me.

I read already some manuals, but 2-3 questions are still open and i just would really appreciate it if someone can answer it for me :)

1.) Is it allowed to play at the same casino where you also are an affiliate?
2.) Are there any rules i should be careful about when it comes to "playiing at the casino where i'm an affiliate" (Bonuses or whatever...) Is there any difference?
3.) Do rules exist like: "If you're an affilaite for XYZ you cannot be an affiliate for ABC"

PS: Hope i'm in the right forum, otherwise move it :) Thanks

    Thanks,
    Hoff

1.) Is it allowed to play at the same casino where you also are an affiliate? Sometimes it's ok, others will block you. Best to ask. We allow you to have a player account and a separate affiliate account for example.

2.) Are there any rules i should be careful about when it comes to "playiing at the casino where i'm an affiliate" (Bonuses or whatever...) Is there any difference?
Again best to ask you wouldn't want to have any problems later. If they are ok with point 1 then it should be ok.

3.) Do rules exist like: "If you're an affilaite for XYZ you cannot be an affiliate for ABC"
If anyone tries to impose this on you run for the hills and don't touch them with a bargepole.

    Good luck
    Andy

I have never been prevented from playing at casinos where I was an affiliate.
Not that I am aware, but always read all the rules first. I have never had a casino that would count me as my own customer, so I was essentially on the house account.

I have never seen anything like that.

There is an affiliates forum. You go to the Forum Homepage and then scroll down until your fingers are bloody and you've lost all hope. Then you scroll for 6 more minutes, and you'll find it. :)

    Best of luck!

From my experience most casinos would not mind if you also had a player account. If anything, it allows you first hand experience of the brand to relay to potential new players so that's a good thing, right? That said, It is open to abuse though so as Andy rightly pointed out ... best to ask.

We had one 'affiliate' register with us, then open a player account. He then went on to play large sums daily, with himself being the only player he ever referred. Turns out he just a whale who wanted to use the affiliate program as his own personal cashback scheme for any losses suffered. Clever, but cheeky. He should have just been honest up front in what he wanted.

All casinos I have ever come across are happy for you to play but as IanO says above, many don't like you to be tagged to yourself. That said, a few are quite happy for you do that if a) you ask, and b) you are genuinely promoting them and getting traffic. After all, every casino game has a house edge so the affiliate is going to lose long term in all probability and if they win, a lot of that is offset by the other players they refer anyway so the casino will win long term. They always do :D

    Hi Hoff,

First of all, I would like to wish you good luck if you decide to create your own affiliate website!
It takes hard work and lots of "patience" to get established and start seeing earnings flowing in. But it's a great feeling when it happens :)

I would like to suggest honesty and being straight forward with the affiliate programs you choose to work with. Trust is a big thing in my books.

As others explained above, it all depends on the circumstances.

-Being a normal player and not tagged to your affiliate account is 100% OK. You are an affiliate and you have the right to check out/investigate the brand that you promote and at the same time enjoy the games if that's your thing :)

-Being a player and being tagged to your affiliate account while you are the only player that is tagged to the affiliate account is again a no no i'm afraid for most programs. Especially if you have not informed your affiliate manager. As mentioned in an above post, you can classify that as Cashback. A personal cashback plan for that matter :)

-If you are a hard working and genuinely engaged affiliate that does really promote brands and that has brought traffic to a brand, then i cannot see it being a major problem if you have a player account yourself and it is tagged to your affiliate account. Saying that, you will still need to inform your affiliate manager and discuss it with them.

In regards to your last question: I hope there isn't a program out-there that demands that from it's affiliates! As mentioned in an above post, please keep away from them :)

@ALL: Out of curiosity: Does anyone actually know of a program that has question 3 as a term?

    Kind Regards

Never come across that one. It sometimes applies to employees but never affiliates.

That's EXACTLY how and why I started. I didn't honestly expect much to come of it, but 7 years later my site is pretty huge and much more popular than I could have hoped for.

    1) Yes; I play (or have played) at nearly all the casinos I am also an affiliate of. But you must NEVER sign-up a player account using your own affiliate link. I signed up to most CM Accredited casinos though links here, some other casinos through my fellow affiliates, and the rest by going direct to the casino (usually BEFORE signing up as an affiliate).
    2) No. (As long as you observe answer 1!) Most casinos say in their T&Cs that affiliates are not allowed to participate in bonuses & promotions, but in reality I have never had a problem claiming bonuses due to this rule at any casino I list.
    3) No.

    Good luck!

How do you see chances in general for a page like this? Is there still opportunity left?

I think my strengths are that i pretty much know every single video slot out there because i'm a gambler for so many years and always tried to test every single slot, and i definitely would love to use that knowledge and experience.

I mean to be honest, i could also think about working for an Online Casino (that makes a good impression to me) as a rep or whatever, part-time.

I just want to use my knowledge and experience for gambling for something more then just loosing money ;)

    Hi Hoff,

The way to go about it as an affiliate is exactly what you mentioned above in my opinion.

You ask yourself: What are my strengths? What can I talk about? Because, that is what you are more knowledgeable and confident about.

So the idea is there from what i see. What you need to do now, is to put on paper how you will go about presenting that to the world and making it as attractive and inviting to people as possible. :)

    Kind Regards

i also promote where i play, and never got a problem
you only cant create account using your own links like it was said before

i allways have taken and continue to take bonuses to play from the casinos that i promote.

i am also in the "begining", 1st a "mini-site", then i added a review of each casino promoted, now i am "transforming" the site to get more popular and apelative
