What Should You Know about Content Theft?
The problem of content theft has burdened the Internet since its inception. But of late, it appears to have reached a new level. We, at JackpotsHeaven.com, do not overlook the use of stolen, unauthorized content, and will not accept affiliates in our network who indulge on using contents stolen from other websites. But what happens if any site is having content that has been stolen from your site?
In that case, you need to be aware of sites that are using the content of your website. Since search engines are not technically advanced enough to find out which content is the original and which the copied one is. Often, search engines like Google will either simply leave out one of the sites from the index completely, or will rank the original page below the copy.
It is therefore quite important to check periodically if your content is being copied or stolen. How can you do this? The simplest option will be to copy few sentences from different parts of your sites pages, put them into quotes, paste them in a search engine, and perform a search. Sometimes, the content thieves modify some of your material and leave other parts untouched, so you should be meticulous. Often, the content thieves simply amend the first and last paragraphs but leave the middle paragraphs intact, so check for this as well.
