On a few will-not-be-named forums, discussion of Jackpot Factory doing some mass bannings in the last 24 hours has gone around. They mention giving a bonus "in good faith" and that it was taken advantage of. I'm kinda curious.......why do they bother with the terms and conditions if, when followed, you get banned anyways? Why don't they just make the T&C "we'll pay you what we want to pay you"?

I have no problem replying here. I took advantage of their signup bonus and followed their rules(which, have you noticed, are more and more changing daily and getting longer and having more games excluded? This goes for everywhere, not just Jackpot Factory). I know a large number of people had their accounts axed. Noone really discussed it here, but it has been elsewhere. My bet is they picked a certain affiliate who, shall we say, encourages using bonuses to their full value. I really am not upset by this as I think my only loss is about 77 cents left in one of the poker accounts, but why do they bother even having all these terms and conditions if when you follow them they cancel your account anyways? I really liked First Web too because I did quite well there and won 10 credits in some drawing I didn't really even know about. I lost them, but I thought it was a cool touch. Then they close all my accounts there because of something about All Jackpots.

Looking into this now. I can understand withholding future promotions and bonuses... but locking the accounts? If people want to play without bonuses, why stop them?

I had this myself. How insulting to actually lock accounts and imply WRONGDOING on the part of players by saying "in good faith", as if players played in "bad faith". And what if players have outstanding balances and are either away or accidently delete the mail? Money gone, no recourse.

I thought this was a decent group. Locking accounts is quite out of order. I intensely dislike being labelled a crook.

I have a little problem with that too.

Keep in mind, however, that it is most certainly the casino's right to close an account and prohibit further play. It's their business and they can refuse clients as long as they pay out any amounts due in full.

That being said - I still think it's poor business practice.

Yes, it's surprising to lock out without a really good reason when acquisition costs are so high. The casino has the right of admission, and even the right to bar future promo offers as long as it has paid out any player who has met the T&C, but to lockout someone on grounds of over-bonusing just doesn't make much business sense.

This seems like very bizarre behavior to me. I can't imagine a group like this locking all of your accounts because you took advantage of a signup bonus. Something doesn't seem right here. Even if they were having financial problems, why lock them out? Just ban them from bonuses. Too bad, I thought first web and wild jacks were good operations. I guess they'll go in the red flagged folder.

Definitely not a financial problem. And they are still good operations.

They have acknowledged the concerns I have raised with them and indicated that this was a once-off which should not happen again. I did not get into specifics with them other than the issue of closing accounts, but as I said earlier, in the end this is their right - just not one that I think really needs to be exercised except under the most trying of circumstances.

I agree, its absolutely their right to ban anyone (and everyone) they want to, just very odd imo.

So are you not at liberty to say what reason they gave for the mass bannings? I mean, given the incredible number of casinos out there, it's not like I don't have other options.....and other options that actually pay within a week or so for gods sakes. I can't tell you how long First Web dragged their feet on paying me.

It sounds as if the Jackpot Factory group is throwing out a few babies with the bath water. I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually throwing out a few losing players. The action seems a little heavy handed for a group that uses Microgaming casinos.

Oh well, as long as they pay out any winners that they are throwing out . . .

I know they are. Some people have said they didn't even do that well, or I think even lost, and were banned. I really wonder why they even bother with the T&C stuff. I think more and more will go to that bonus plan of "We'll give ya what we want when we want".

Well, for the record, I've played their casinos in the past and I never had a problem. A few years ago, they were giving 10% on every deposit with very reasonable terms and conditions. I played there a lot during that time and didn't have a problem. Of course, after awhile they cut the promotion.

Still a mass banning of players who "used" their recent promotion is harsh IMO. Of course players were attracted to the promotion. It was a good (not great) deal. Oh well, being a smart consumer can often bring retribution.

Yeah. Being forced into I think it was 15x wagering d+b on video poker has a high risk of busting out. But I guess if you played a lot of video poker and cashed out a bit over the WR, that was their flag to toss you out.

The only reason given for the ban was bonus abuse, said to be very distinct - and I was also told that the number of players that received this email is quite low, though obviously what I consider low and what they consider low could be completely different.

If you wouldn't mind sending me a PM with a link to the forums in question, I'd like to see just how widespread this was.

Well, I guess you can abuse a bonus even when you lose all your money. I prefer not to bring up(via pm or otherwise) the name of the forum because it's already getting too much attention. It has been mentioned in one of the forums here before though. I believe when referring to poker freerolls. It definitely lends itself more to the advantage player.

LOL - I don't blame you.

There is nothing wrong with what I call a bonus advantage player. I am firmly against casinos calling these players bonus abusers if they meet the terms and conditions set out by the casinos themselves.

That being said - they *still* have the right to close the account. It's just a very stupid thing to do... LOL... and trust me I gave them a LOT of stick about that.

One way to protect yourselves is to sign up through sites who carry big sticks... like Casinomeister, for example... or Got2Bet. Teddy Roosevelt would have been proud of us LMAO.

Another way to protect yourselves - never EVER do exactly WR. It's like saying "Hey, here I am!"

I wrote recommendations for claiming bonuses somewhere on my site... LOL... can't remember if it was the Bonus Tour or the Land to Online series but you can go look for yourself if you like. But the gist was to at least have the courtesy to overplay a bit, especially if you had a profit. If you lost, I certainly don't blame you for trying to cash out at WR.

But if you got banned after a LOSS - now that's just idiotic.

I bust just short of a grand before receiving this. Quite some kick in the teeth, really. Why couldn't they bar me after a win? At least then everyone's happy.

There are a load of decent MG groups that don't do this. Fortune Lounge, Trident Lounge...probably the lot, in fact. I don't recommend casinos that behave like this when there is much better out there. Why bother with them?

Thanks for giving them a hard time, BTW.

I have always considered them one of the best MGS groups - and I am also their first affiliate. But I am also the biggest thorn in their side... LOL... when they're good, they can be very good. But occasionally they do something that leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I don't mince any words when I let them know - in this instance they made some reference to me being a "brick" LOL.

The good thing is, they usually listen, and they usually act quickly unless they want to get a lot more irritating email - or they will have to face me at a conference anyhow.

Overall - they're still a good group. I cannot apologize on their behalf, since that's none of my business, and I doubt that they will apologize for what they believe to be necessary action. But the great majority of you should not be affected and hopefully you have been properly treated up until this point and will continue to be treated as loyal players.

As for those who did receive an email... I urge you to demand an explanation from them as to exactly why you were "banned". The least they owe you is that.

The only reason I could think of for doing this would be if they sent someone a bonus offer with a code or coupon attached that the person then shared or posted, which is usually against the T&C of casinos that do such things. In that scenario I could somewhat see why they'd ban everyone using that code. Any other scenario seems wacky to me.

Like I said, there are plenty of other fish in the pound for me to go lose my money at. I thought the whole way the handled it was awfully heavy handed. Was the few hundred or even a couple thousand dollars they may have saved over the next few years worth looking like this? I would have to think not.

The number of Emails sent out about this promotion could have been low. However, the promotion was posted on all their casino websites, and I believe it was also mentioned somewhere within the casino software. In addition, their advertisements for the promotion urged players to use it at all five of their casinos. Yikes!

I personally didn't see the promotion posted anywhere and only heard about it through the grapevine. I then checked out the details on thier website.

But it doesn't appear that the promotion was a secret or exclusive. Its a little disingenuous to urge players to play a promotion at all their casinos and then take retribution against them for doing so.

But I understand that all winners have or are being paid and no bonus money was removed from player accounts, so they are handling that part in the right manner.

Sounds like they went on a bonus hunter fishing trip now. Send out a bonus and encourage everyone to use it on all casinos in the group, then shoot the ones that actually take the bait! :machinegu

I think he is talking about the banning email ( which I got too!)
