Hey guys,

I was just thinking, yeah men do think too sometimes. :D
I know alot of people who play those so called social games at places like facebook.
I am the same,I admit.

But if you really think about it all those games are nothing but moneymules, endless pits that you can fill with your hard earned cash.
For example alot of fun and even some real casino's are at present on facebook and yeah sure you can play them for fun and for free.
But we all know the drill,we can buy shitloads of coinpackages and lucky charms etc etc etc to extend and enhance your gameplay.
And what do we really get back for it?
A bit of extra gametime?Because be sure your bought coins will be eaten with pleasure by those so called social slots.
So we go and buy some more coins and some more and some more.
And before you realise it you have spent a couple of 100 bucks on social games and you are still left with nothing.

You can't win real cash on them and the payouts are even worse then on real money slots as offcourse they need to make money on the social games, lots and lots of money.
There is even slots that are straigh taken from real casino slots and playing them you see they behave completely different from the real deal.

But not only it is the casinogames, any game will urge you to buy gold, items, coins, premium stuff to enhance your gameplay.

I play for example Avengers Alliance from Marvel and I just added up the amount of times I bought some gold for like $5.00.
Not a huge spending but add up the amount of times I did this and it makes alot of money.

I know it is my own choice to purchase gold and stuff and really this is the only game I have ever spent money on but reality is the borders are completely gone and you can spend unlimited money on those games.

And then one day they decide to pull the plug on the game which happens a lot in social games and all your investments are gone like a fart in the wind.

So my point is,is it really worth to put anything in those games?
I.m.o not really.

I think these games eat alot of money from people and you get back very poor customer service,no phonenumbers, everything goes via dodgy e-mails and slow responding helpdesks.

So yeah I rather spend some coins in a real casino or when I play games on my PS3 for example I rather invest money in that because I know the games will be always there and they will be mine.

Social gaming?Meh,a big big money pit I think.

What do you think my fellow CM buddies?

I play alot of the games on F/B and have never paid a cent to play, I do it for fun and when my real casino cash is low:D
It is just that a social game , I send friends free spins or coins and visa versa and we try to top each others score, hey I won 11 million today and was betting 62K a shot.

The folks that buy those coin packages, they just dont know what they are missing:D

I love my social games , just not that Candy Crush game , its boring and well it just plain sucks;)

I keep getting invites from friends and relatives:

""Come play such & such, you'll love it!""

Nope, not interested.

I do belong to pogo.com as a club member. I signed up for the monthly rate of $5.99. The best reason to become a club member is NO ADS!!!

They of course do have some stuff you can spend more money on but, I don't go for those.

And you have a chance, albeit slim, to win some cash.

I would not even consider a FB or any other site where I have to pay to play.

That is what my casinos are for!

Yeah I am the same Laurie, send free coins and gifts every day on the slotgames I play.
Never spent a dime on them either and play them when real funds are low indeed. :D:p

Like I said, only game I spent money on is Avengers Alliance as it is so cool and damn addictive.
To level up or get special items I sometimes just have to spend some cash! :D

And Candy Crush Saga,my wife plays it,she is at level 89 or something.
Gave it a shot, made it to level 60 and quit because that level annoyed me for 3 weeks and refused to buy power ups.
So de-installed it from my apps.
All those SAGA games are they same anyway, just a different setting and theme..

LOL Laurie,

My son comes here for lunch on work days. He usually has his face stuck in his phone playing candy crush.

I have to laugh at him. He get so frustrated sometimes, The other day, he signed out of it and said """F**k you crush and your little candies too!"

I was laughing so hard I had tears rolling!

What disturbs me most with these social network games is their availability to younger minds that usually would not come across the free to play, then free to earn points and then the kick in of money exchanged.

Yes there is another gaming model for rpg but they at least have an end attached to them, with a rest period until the new one is announced.

I have got my grey cardigan on tonight :D

I have never touched a single game on Facebook.
Where in the world do you people find the time?:eek2:

The only thing that annoys me is the titel of this thread. I just can't accept that there is one word too many in it:rolleyes:
...and I so hate the fact that I have the titel on my mind now and can't get rid of it.
How could you Mark?:p

The only game I've ever tried on facebook is that crime scene one (played it once) but I never play any of the others. I do play Pogo though, some of the games there are fun when I'm bored.

Brief rant from an old fart who has downloaded a few 'free' slots and games from Google Play ....

If a game says it's FREE, then don't bug hell out of me with popups and block me from playing if I don't BUY freaking fake money or power ups or whatever the hell .... That is what is called a TRIAL offer... or sample or some such. That is NOT 'free'. I've uninstalled more crap than I've kept on my tablet/reader.

They used to do that with a lot of 'free' software we'd download from places like CNet (way back when), use it and it would end up being nagware or trialware and stop working if you didn't fork over money for it.

Perhaps an answer to the title would be encapsulated in the link, skip to 0:18 for the answer :)

I play the free slot apps from Google Play and when I run out of coins I just uninstall the app. They have coin packages for $99 seriously if I was going to spend that kind of money I would rather put it in a real slot. I mean wouldnt you? Some of the slot apps are heavily rigged as well, take Titans Way (from Top Game btw) the first two spins you play are both winners, happens to everyone, so if they can do that wouldnt it stand to reason that they could take youre coins back faster than you paid for them? Having said that I quite enjoy slot apps. The games are fun and they are a good way to take a break from the real thing. Good time wasters. I just wouldnt spend much on coins.

I hate Candy Crush and unfortunately most of the games on the Google Play store dont tell you that youre going to have too buy coins in order to finish the game before you hand over money for the game itself. The only game I let that slide with was Feild Runners for $7 and i left a nasty reveiw. Man that game's addictive. I mean wouldnt you rather just buy a complete game from Bigfish for $6? I know Candy Crush has power ups that will set you back $30 (the cost of a full ps vita game over here).

I used to play the free bj pogo game in 2003 when I had aol dial up.
It was really not unlike a forum where we had a little community going and would chat back and forth. It was a lot of fun actually. A couple even ended up getting married.

I cant hear that song without thinking on this rant...

As for 'social gaming' I've tried and tried to quit... but then they just launch a juicy new app and I cant resist. I have occasionally cracked open the wallet to play, but only after I have been playing the game for some time. If an app has provided me with many hours of distraction or enjoyment, I dont begrudge the designers 89p. I agree that those $99 packages for a free game are crazy... who selects those apart from teenagers using the folks stolen credit card?

so...Anybody need a new farmville neighbour? ;)

I used to love Zynga Poker - Would sit and play with my buddies often. Haven't been near any facebook game in recent times though.

What I can say is that although these games are money gobblers it is entertainment for some people. People have a choice, and if they want to buy Coins with no value - So be it.

I would rather see 1000 players pay $5 for coins to keep them entertained that week than them signing up to an Online Casino and pissing away money. The risk may also arise that some of these people become problem gamblers in the long run.

Some of these social networking games also may encourage gambling when people have unrealistic expectations. They see big wins on Zeus as an example and try to replicate it online for real money.

In any event - people choose for themselves and Id rather have 1000 people addicted to social games than another 500 people spending more than they can afford to!!

Right and Zynga is a no go in my dictionary.
The worst ever social games provider ever.

They managed to close down 2 of my all time favourite games within the space of a year. (Kingdom Age and Empire&Allies).
All work and effort in those games GONE!

So I decided to block any Zynga games for life,I have banned them! :D

Zynga seemed to (foolishly IMHO) put all their eggs into USA basket with the idea that the USA online gambling market would just open right up and make them all rich. All they had to do was ask us USA players regarding the possible timeline on that little pipe dream..... For some of us, it may be the year after hell freezes over ....

Some ppl are just obsessed with facebook which can be very dangerous. The younger generation think it is so cool to absolutely post everything that is going on in their every minute of their day. The minute they have the chance, its grabbing their phones and checking FB or playing a game and so forth. Do they not realize that the world is full of nasty ppl who can go heywire with the info you post??? No of course not, they are kids they dont really think of the bad and the ugly!! Perhaps a little parenting instinct kicking in...on the other hand, whatever happened to reading a book in their spare time or having some good old quality time conversation instead of the long pause of constant silence looking at a phone!!
