I am reading stuff about Bryan putting his name to a new Cryptologic slot of some kind. The simple question I have for you good folk on here is this - is this really ethical?

This is a real bugbear of mine - slot %'s. How many software providers publish their percentages? Well done WagerWorks you do but hands up anyone else? What do we get - MG claim they are 95%. Crypto, Playtech, Chartwell who knows? Rival publish some numbers but seem to get their 9's and 6's mixed up a lot :eek2:. Odds on - well odds on what? RTG - a moveable feast!

Do you know something? I got up today and I could feel this swelling on my brow. I felt it and it was the letter M. And that's M for Muppet. I mean we must be total Muppet's for playing slots when we don't even know the % payout.

I am probably deranged but I find it hard to accept when the owner of this forum is advocating we should play a slot wnen we don't even know the payout %.

Am I mad or are we being fooled?

Most reputable casinos are audited and publish the reports (which include the payout %) on their website, or even within the casino software...

Whether or not it'll take 10,000 spins to achieve those numbers or 10,000,000,000,000 spins....well, that's another story. :D

I think you have a very good point!
You could say the same thing about online Blackjack or Video Poker too - how many online casinos publish the expected returns on those games?

I agree the casinos should have to tell you this information - in fact I would like to see it on the actual playing screen. (e.g. a little box in the corner of the slot's main screen with 96% in it - just as UK fruities have to display the return on the front).

As for the 'CM slot'; well thats down to each individual to decide to play it or not. No-one is being forced (I hope!). Personally I trust WagerLogic to produce a fair slot with a reasonable return. The actual long term % is irrelevant in the short term anyway IMO.

Did brian not have his face on another slot not that long ago, or is this that slot coming out now.

Ok so this new brian slot, cant wait for the review.
hope its not a clone, and has some spectacular features otherwise....a few on here, well you know :p

Who's Brian? :p

I think you are thinking of this same slot - Bryan told us about it quite a long time ago, at the start of it's development. He told me recently that it's not a clone and has some really cool features (but he would say that, wouldn't he!) - we'll just have to wait & see...

Not much longer now...

Thanks for the reply but your argument about BJ and VP is not correct because it is possible to derive the theoretical house edge from the rules and payout figures. And that goes for most games.

I am not talking about audited actual payouts but theoretical house edge. Why should KK and other good folk on here have to trawl through the reels and work out as best they can what the house edge may be? Why as players should we have to go to all this trouble? Numerous people have mentioned that MG slots are getting tighter but if you don't know the precise house edge to start with how can you really know if they are changing things?

I like the look of some of the Playtech slots but I am reluctant to play them because I can't find out what the payback % really is. AS KK says why don't they publish it like Wagerworks do? What have they got to hide?

KK is is all very well saying 'I trust Wagerlogic' but is that really a serious basis for playing a game on a promise that the house edge is 94-96%? Now I know that 94% won't affect you much becasue you have your system going. But if you are playing for entertainment the difference between 94 and 96% is going to really hurt you in the end.

What does concern me is that Bryan is the leading players advocate in this industry. If he is putting his name on a slot then it is going to have influence with a lot of players because he has such a good reputation for fairness. It is a bit different from the Osbournes. All I am saying is hopefully the theoretical payback figure will hopefully be published. It doesn't really bother me if it is 96% or 89% but I would just like to know the figure not some vague 94-96% term. 94-96% - what is that? It does make you wonder if they can adjust the % in that band?

I'll finsih with a simple question. Why are Wagerworks and Rival the only providers who provide theoretical payback stats? Wouldn't it help both players and operators if the other software providers moved in the same direction?
