    Hey all,

Just a message to let you all know I will stop playing online slots.
What I have endured with online slotting in the last couple of months is just beyond ridiculous.
People will quickly answer and say it is just a bad streak.
No,this is different, this has nothing to do anymore with bad luck or a bad streak.

There are many threads were people say that they feel the slots have changed, or the way they "pay" and play.
We all laugh it away as it is all tinfoil hat related crap and it is all the players perception.
Now,I have played slots since I was legally able to do so and that is now nearly 25 years so I think I have the right to say that I would have a reasonable good judgement on things.
And my judgement and also my gut feeling tell me it is time to walk away from online slotting and stop wasting my hard earned money on it.
When the entertainment value stops and annoyance is the only reward it is time to jump ship. :)
There are many slots out there that are an insult to the online slot player.

I love playing slots and I always will but I for now I am gonna stick to my local b&m casino where I can sit with a few Euro once in a while and have some fun with the locals.
It is funny actually as online slots are said to have better payouts than any b&m slot will ever have but for me over all those years I have done 10 times better in b&m casino's.
I walked away many times with a good profit in my pocket whilst online I very seldom make a decent profit.

I can accept that most of the times you will lose your deposit as that is a Murphy's Law in gambling.
The odds are always in favor of the casino.
But when your play time is also reduced to shreds because the slot developers have tweaked their slots in a way to even squeez the last bit of entertainment out of them in order to fill their pockets even quicker.
100 Euro is nothing. Any slot, any casino, it doesn't matter.

Netent are rapidly changing their slots to the new HTML format and they have taken out the opportunity to make the reels stop instantly, removed the option to play with lesser paylines and i.m.h.o the game play has changed.
I can start and mention loads of examples but let's leave it for now.
I will say Tornado Farm Escape and see how often the feature triggers with the clouds on reel 1 and 5.
It was not hard to trigger this feature at all. I have played this slot a lot!
Since available on the HTML version it completely changed and would miss the cloud on reel 5 over and over and over again.
As a frequent player of the slot I noticed this and it is hard to not see that this feature hits less frequent.

Microgaming, the champions of bankroll destroying slots as they will bore you to death with endless sessions of non winning spins and features not triggering, 2 scatters 50 million times and when the third one finally hits it will reward you with 10x or less on the free spins. Needless to say your bankroll has already suffered major to even get the free spins.
The classics like TSII, IR, TFROL for example, 5 OAK pays have been minimised so hard it is hard to not see that.
I could play those slots for hours and remain on the same balance or have a good profit.
Now 100 Euro on €0.60 - €0.90 bets will be gone in 30 minutes or less as all you get is 3 OAKS that pay less than 1x bet and FS are so hard to trigger.

I can go on and on but I think I have made my point.

To slots developers I would say, think carefully what way you are going because you will start to lose players.
I have given them the benefit of the doubt thinking I was just having bad luck but after a while you start to see the pattern and figure out it is useless to play them.

This is just purely my own observation which have brought me to the conclusion and decision to give up the online slots.
This decision has not been made after a huge loss or whatever but has been an accumulation of frustrating sessions where there was no mentionable wins or decent play time.

I will remain active on the forum so Bryan please do not close my account!!! :)

I love this place and I will still participate in the forum as there are other things besides online slots to be discussed from time to time.

I am taking my early steps in affiliating and this forum is a great board with loads of knowledgeable people and there are always good threads about other things.
Besides that there are many nice people here so I defo gonna stay around.

Just when it comes to online slots, I am gonna stop for the time being.
Just not worth spending my money on.
The monthly bankroll will now be used for other stuff, might even save it for some time and do something nice with it. :):)

Take care all and like I said, will still be around here!

To add, I want to thank the awesome casino's I have played at and the service I have gotten from them.
I do not blame them one bit as they are just providing us with the opportunity to play the slots.
The people who make them should be rethink their strategies as they stink!

I have had amazing times at Guts and Rizk, by far my 2 favourite online casino's and I was always treated well there.
For me 2 casino's that have set the benchmark for online casino's very high when it comes to customer care and customer focus!

    Mark. :):)

Agree with all you said and great post! I've cut back too and this feeling is preferable to being fleeced every online session.

Online slots are fun, but nowhere near as fun as they used to be, and I too feel the games play differently.

Glad you're still sticking around though

I'm please too that your sticking around as I value your contributions  But I can honestly say that I am in a good period of slotting. This year has been good to me so far,but maybe I am being more careful not to squander what I win? What was part of my downfall was gambling while pissed. I still do but I don't go mad while drunk these days.

True, the fact that I cannot enjoy playing online anymore was the main reason to quit for now.
Feeling every 100 Euro deposit is gonna end in a bust no matter what slot and what stake you play.
Greed from the developers ruin the whole slotting experience for players and now even low variance slots play like crap.

And yes defo will remain an active member here m8! :)
    It is a nice place.

Not much changes really, except I won't post any winning vids screenies anymore..Like that hasn't happened for some time now anyway... :D:D:D:D

I know what you mean Mark.

Im up every year, not massive amounts, but better being up a quid than down a quid.

Im losing interest as well and dont play nowhere as much as I used to, infact I have done better out of freebies this year.

Your point about the MG 243 wayers made me
As it took me over 700 spins yesterday to get 3 scatters on Playboy, never known it be like that.
Mentioned it before but seems to be more shitty wins on them and you still end up near RTP although it doesnt feel like you have won anything from them.
I would rather they had 20 dead spins and then bring 5OAK Amber in or something.

A very well written and very factual OP

Its good to know when months / couple of years back I mentioned that slots were beginning to show signs of changing and things were not the same that yourself and in fact, a good few others are also noticing, in fact more and more each week!!!

At the time I was "Laughed off the stage" but like you good self, having a similar amount of gambling experience in general and 14 years on online experience we know when something is amiss.

There will always be those who ridicule, sling the tin foil in our direction but when something is so obvious and so right under your nose then sling away I say.

I won't quit altogether just yet but for the first time pretty much ever, it is crossing my mind more and more, I've already started to enjoy session less and less, whether winning or not!

Quick example to close with to add to the 'list' As most of you know I play IR every session, imagine 1,000's of spins per week.....

It has been over 3 months since I hit 5OAK Sarah, something which happened at least now and again. It was a fairly common 'drop' to hit 116.66x (2 reels with Sarah + Wild, other 3 reels Sarah alone) this I've not seen in over a year (apart from screen shots, those who probs lost 20 deposits on the trot :p)

Bottom line is sadly as I've briefly mentioned before the providers, casinos, etc know that gamblers will always be gamblers and even if one day these "rambling" of mine are proven 100% factual they know we will continue to play, plus they have 'fresh meat' signing up daily.

Must sit around a big table reading out the stats...

"2,780 experienced players mugged off today lads, hee, hee"

"1,921 lambs to the slaughter signed up today boss!"

    I'll stop now!

Correctamundo Jon, those that 'wise up' end up leaving slots altogether whilst new players will join to make up the difference.

It's like a revolving door of bollocks. As long as casinos never fully disclose their methods they'll never be held accountable for these strange goings-on, and the old motto "It's just (prolonged) bad luck" will keep circulating.

    Profits above transparency

yes, it's just bad luck and the key to winning at Slots is persistence :)
Sadly each spins costs money and few of us have the funds to that persistent. Yes, there's a revolving door of fresh fish, and for the ones that aren't playing they'll give Free Spins too, and we all know the value of these spins. Casinos know the mentality of players, that they love Free stuff and they think Free Spins solve everything :)
The real key to winning is self discipline and knowing when to stop

HTML5 slots are exactly the same as before mate. It's just they recycle your money faster and you lose quicker - if you're going to lose.

I can understand that when you are on a seemingly endless bad run things seem the way you express them.

The developers would have to re-submit all their games for auditing at quite a cost if they changed the parse values or RTPs when offering them in html5. The games are the same as before, but just crappier to play. On Netent you click the reels and the animations should stop and also you can speed them up in the settings on html5.

Remember even if you have a 99.9% RTP slot, keep playing it over and over without withdrawing at the right time and you'll always lose.

I specifically play them to get annoyed, frustrated and start firing out expletives in all directions - that's the fun!

Anyway good luck with your online slots-free future.

Yes, I know what I said - the variance seems different and you lose faster and no I don't like them in html5 but as I said the RTP and math models are the same. That is the impression the faster spin rate gives me sometimes.

I'm having a terrible week so far.... ;0)

Well im glad you are at least sticking around the forum.

Out of all the slots I play I think the most and really only ones I feel 100% on that has changed is TSII and bonanza. I cant play netnent so I wouldnt know.

I always found IR to be a very tough slot.

Today I have had about 15 MG bonuses on nice sized bets. And as usual the 10-30x. Can be very frustrating that a slot milks you of hundreds to hit the bonus and then pays you back like 10% of what you lost.

I fully agree that $100 doesnt last at all unless you are damn lucky. If I want to have a good solid session I must deposit $400 and I will stick to .60-$1. Even $200 doesnt last usually.

Spinning faster means more profit for the casinos. I can no longer play NetEnt, I think they've bit on the forefront (right term?) for that.

For years and upon years I've read the "online blackjack is rigged" kind of threads, and it's always down to so many more hands than landbased per hour, rather than the actual streaks.

Even my favourite Blazing Sevens landbased were all replaced with newer models that just spin faster.

I'm unsure what games you are playing, but an awful lot of recent offers are slow drip feeders, with no real possibility of decent returns, just "extended" play sessions that are not all that extended due to higher spin rates.

Or heavens forbid, the machines that spin so slow or lag you just up your bet to get done faster.

If you are frustrated, step away. Close accounts if you like, but be careful to state that you are not self-excluding, in case you'd like to return at some future point.

Most of my best cashouts in the past couple of years have been from games around for years, with the exception of Starquest from BTG, which was straight up damn lucky, and I know it and play it very little.

Even very reputable casinos like Videoslots have slots with 92% RTP and less, thank you Dan for at least informing us here about them, even though you can find it on the site or games if you dig, but not necessarily everywhere.

I always enjoy my visits to the B&Ms, but they pay soooo poorly here where I live, and they can't even give us free alcohol, that online remains attractive to me still.

There are many games that were in existance when I started a decade ago I still play regularly and still seem to perform the same.

Very glad you are hanging in with us, you are a valued member, and glad to see you are not quitting from being out of control.

Online gaming should be fun. This sort of money grabbing rubbish the providers put out nowadays is designed to create problem gamblers. Chasing wins that never can or will happen. Im done with it. Not that i have a problem, I just dont see the entertainment in it anymore.

You've made the right move. I have gambled onlie for 10years now and thinking back its like night/day now.

I see no entertainment in spinning 1000 spins in GOT for a 5x stake bonus, thats annoying...for anyone. Remain as calm as you like and say its luck, it's rubbish.

£100 deposits frequently gone in 5-6 minutes. Playing minimum stake (30p-50p) support that talks like robots (probably automated) ridiculous promotions like bet £1,000,000 for 5 f/s on starbust (winnings capped at 10p and must be wagered 40million times)

Its utter garbage, I dont enjoy it anymore, and dont do it anymore, I made a decision to stop as theres no refunds of the entertainment doesnt turn up in this business.

If I hit something half decent in my local b&m I will post screenies from those in the appropriate section.
Also will keep following the new slots releases.
If one day something is released that would tickle my senses I probably will have a go at it anyway, knowing myself.
I have closed the majority of my casino accounts yesterday and boy it feels good.
Have left only 2 casino accounts open for (maybe) future purposes.:rolleyes:

For now I will focus on the affiliate aspects of slotting and actually try and make a few pound instead of losing it. ;)

To add,I have no problems with gambling, this decision was made purely for the reasons stated in my OP.
I have gone months without gambling before just because I didn't fancy playing anything.

Lotusch I read your posts and do agree with you. I myself need to take a break from slotting for at least a month due to other financial obligations. I actually feel good about that because I like others am getting sick of throwing my money away and not getting any entertainment. After all we gamble for entertainment as well as a chance to win and if we don't get either then why bother? I am not sure when I will be depositing again and am okay with that. I don't get excited when I see new bonus offers in my email anymore and groan when I see a new slot release so maybe a break will do the world of good. I think if more people stop depositing then maybe just maybe casinos might demand more quality slots from providers. We can dream but in life we can only control our actions and I can control where I spend my money and for the next month or so it won't be online slots:thumbsup:

Well cannot say i blame you & i would think its for the best lotusch . im in the middle of contemplating the same thing , i've played online for nearly 20 years & pretty much seen it all, the good bad & ugly , but over the past 18 months over than a few moderate hits its been shite 1000s spent , sadly no player is that unlucky.

I get exactly where you're coming from just this morning balance £200 BDBA total spins around 600 bust out 2 features both paying 7x bet , the alarming bit is this is my 27th session of going above 150 spins for a feature which is pretty insulting same game , i know people may come & defend that im unlucky really , you would think i would have one good session on it.

same pretty much across the board if im not putting via 1000s im not winning when i do get a small run its like 40% refund of what ive already deposited.

8k losses since march at BGO twice i made it to £1000 at higher stakes 48 losing bets on roulette playing the same numbers , 11 numbers covered. again i just must be the most unluckiest player going. all bets minimum of £50 onwards £1200 done in one session & again balance depleted without a number in sight.

wheres my winning run of of hitting 3 numbers on the trot

Stick around buddy you have good knowledge !

i hope you do better at bricks & mortar , at least this way your enjoying the social nights & having fun ;);)

i think you are being a bit harsh

good promos are still around. the other day i got 50 free spins from Lapalingo and won a little bit under $130 with them. And i only had to wager it 75 times, with max cashout of $100. I think thats a very cute promo.

Obviously not as good as wager $2,500 get $20 "free" bonus money, that has to be wagered 30 times or whatever was that promo but if anything its just as good imo.

Seeing you are from UK you should be able to get quite a few good promos from William Hill too ! free fiver from time to time, and max cashout is rather generous ($20) and they make you play it on jackpot slots so you can hate yourself even more if you actually manage to complete wagering.

so as i already said, good promos are still around, im just a little bit sad to see we dont get 10 free spins on starburst nearly as much as we used to, because not long ago that kind of promo was everywhere

If any of casino reps is checking this topic - I WANT MY 10 STARBURST FS !!

I dont like this new era of slotting. They are trying to make more innovative looking slots but in return the payouts are absolute nightmare. I stopped trying new slots for the most part and stick to older ones. Maybe some of these casino's are reading all these complaints and will give feedback to the slot designers but as long as they raking in the dough, I doubt it.

They only like the high roller, that's what stats prove bring in there massive income.
As long as they get the revenues they want the rest of the players mean shit.
Shouldn't be that way at all, keeping a average player happy for 12 months guarantees the casino extra revinue.
Most new slots are aweful, them shitty free spins videoslots give us at a alarmingly regular rate on red gaming is a example of this.
I to prefer the older games, I'm Also getting tired myself of deposit after deposit of bust...the fun is going, had a £200 cash out at casumo for a £30 deposit last week, gone are my days of £800 plus a day.
I'm probably well into 20k down in 12 months, and now I'm happy to win on a small deposit for a small win.
Says a lot how people who loved slots are feeling now.
