i rescue abused animals

hello im Robyn and i rescue abused animals i saved 3 dogs 4 cats a rabbit i been on news about animal abuse and showed all my animals that was saved my newest is bill he almost died on me he started coughing i rushed him to the vet come to find out he was dieing with heart-worms the people had him never took him to the vet he was missing hair the police said they might of used him as a fight dog i wanted to cry so i am fight against animal abuse here the update on bill he is now heart-worm neg he is on heart-worm pills just like the rest of my dogs he is now 100 pounds and loves the world , so i sit up a fundraiser in his name because i rescue allot of animals i do don't give them away i keep them train them that its OK to be loved and none will hurt them again my food for them are donated cat litter and cat food upco pet supply

I'm sure this well-constructed and punctuated paragraph will have online donations flooding in. Try the bogus charity-bag one too.
 
I applaude you for rescuing animals!

Your profile says you are a webmaster, or trying to be. You may have gotten more help with your website if you used sentences and paragraphs, people would take it more seriously.

Asking for donations on a first post will probably turn members off.
 
I really hope this is for real and maybe just wasn't thought out well.

I am all for helping abused animals. I just can't stand the thought of innocent animals being abused so kudos to you, if this is the case.

I think we need more proof to see that this is legit.
 
I do support humane society's in a number of ways, I also support anyone that has a charity for whatever reason whether it be animals or humans. The only probably is a majority of charities are scams. Some charities are actually legal and only give back as low as 10-20% of funds to that charity. That is an easy way for a few people to get salaries. These crooks get donations for a charities but then take most of the money for themselves.

If I ever go ahead and donate, I need to be certain that a majority of the money goes back to the cause.

@OP- I do like the abused animal cause, but you don't even know what you want to do with the money. In one sentence on your charity post you say you want money "just in case" what happens to bill happens to another dog. Then in another sentence you say you want to save up and buy land and a farm. These inconsistencies wont help with getting donations.

Again I really do like the cause, but I would suggest maybe dealing with a local Humane Society or reputable animal rescue group. Maybe these groups can help when you need thing for animals you take in, and also they may want to send animals your way, with costs being taken care of.

BTW your posting on a gambling site, do you play online slots or land casinos?
 
I saved a cat yesterday!

I have four dogs, three rescues. One of them came to us last year (a 70 lb wolfhound airdale mix) and did not bark or wag his tail for the first three months we had him. He also had to be put in a room by himself to eat with his food for 3 hours and would only eat 15% or so of his bowl. Now, he barks and wags every day and eats all his food in less than 5 min! He yells at me every morning at 5 am for breakfast (who owns whom?).

Yesterday, I was driving along the rather large road in front of my house when I noticed a dead cat in the middle of the street. He was still whole so I pulled over to prevent her from being horrible crushed even worse. A few other cars swerved around her as well (she was a bit on the heavy side, 7.5 lbs). I got out of the car with a towel to move her to the side of the road (for humane purposes) and lo and behold, she opened her eyes for me. I carried her into my car and put her in the back seat. After a few moments she started to meow at me a lot. I went to three animal hospitals until I found one open on Sunday morning. I almost didn't take her to the hospital because she looked ok but they said it was good I did as she had a broken rib and was still in severe shock from being hit by a car. The cat was chipped and the owner was found. The cat was kept overnight but I'm sure she will be fine.

It was a very good day for me because of that. Better even than a large random jackpot at RTG! Just wanted to share.....

Thank you for that! I , too, have brought back 'strays' to their owners, as I drive every day for a living and I have returned 3 dogs back to their owners, one dove with a broken wing to the hospital, a bird who banged into a window and was bleeding and looked like she/he was in a coma...came to be that she /he was just a little woozy...and she flew out of my van, when I opened the door..

Thank God I don't live in Africa or Australia...because my van is not that big to return Rhino's or Kangaroos ..lol

There's a cat that comes around extremely often. The cat visits multiple times through out the day. Always seems hungry. Dosent have a collar. Really a very friendly little thing.

I don't know whether the cat's a stray or not. I don't want to steal someones cat. What should I do?
 
As long as the cat looks healthy and fed, I wouldn't do anything. Cat's like to visit, especially if they know there is food ;)
A lot of cats are outside cats, so he may very well have a good home....the owners should make sure he's marked somehow tho...either a collar (not always a good idea tho....seen cats hang themselves in those), or even better a tattoo.

I agree. Microchipping is a big thing here in Australia and I've considered that. They should have some collar on the cat though. The cat does look alright. I'll leave it :)
 
Earlier I took a look at that site - the main site I mean, and it actually looks quite interesting, a lot of people fundraising for help paying medical bills and whatnot, I read a few of the stories and then it got too sad and I had to leave. :( Be nice to have a whole pile of money extra and be able to donate to some of them.

Maybe the OP has a good heart and means well, but TBH I don't think they'll get too far trying to 'fundraise' the way they're doing it.

Too many scammers around for mine.
 
I appreciate that people have causes and crusades, I do..I wish I had more convictions.
However, I choose my OWN charities and when and where to distribute what I can..I don't like being bothered, guilted or pressured by any fundraising organization or person.
I appreciate charities need charity drivers - but for me, it stops at 'here's the information'; beyond that, I'll look it over and go to YOU should I wish to move further and it's line with some place I'd like to contribute to

oh you cynic you. I know I thought the same thing. There was that one girl who faked cancer so people would give her money, shaved her head and the whole bit. :mad:

Although on that site most people don't start a fundraiser and then go to a bunch of forums and ask total strangers. It's for people in your community and people who know you or know your family or whatever.

Looks like they are buying her/his BS on that other forum. Makes me sick, that someone will pull out crap like this :S.
 
As much as I commend Animal Charities and their cause I am a bit dubious about being asked outright to donate. There is no shortage of well- meaning people and organizations that can be contacted at any given time, so this is certainly a direct approach if anything. But a Casino Forum??

It seems the OP thinks us gamblers have money to spare!
 
What a crock! I donate to charities all the time. I also love animals. But this had "con" written all over the thing. Now that we know they run two the whole thing is just allot more obvious. That's why I didn't bother to ask for further information or entertain the idea of donating. This kind of scam is considered normal although the people that run them are ANYTHING BUT.

Stick to better known charities or try to search around local places if you want to donate for charity.

Seems like a scam charity from the look of it. Hopefully he/she gets banned as soon as possible
 
WTF, the OP's other campaign is to get donations to open a dance club to help keep kids off the street. Please, all I used to do in a dance club is roll. What a bunch of BS targeting casino forums for donations. Any legitimate non profit is not going to use a casino forum to get donations. If its a legit cause, organization, then you will get donations through normal methods. Hopefully people are not stupid enough to give money to this person.

For some reason, a lot of people seem to think that if people gamble they have an inherent urge to be rid of all their monies no matter how or where.... as if they have money at all.

Always cracks me up at a B&M to get hit up by a panhandler for money for a 'bus ticket' so they can get home. (Nevermind that there is no bus service within 45 minutes of the Tunica casinos. But I'm not supposed to know that, I guess.) And I'm sitting there playing .40 a spin.... yeah, buddy... let me help you out. You get my next win.... here's .04....

Oh, BTW.... I feed at least 9 stray cats at work (one just had kittens) -- anybody wanna pony up food, shots, and spay/neuter money? (I am kidding btw)

it is sad how people use animals and kids to make a profit - it makes me sick.
i am a member of a charity that helps rescue cats and give them new homes here in sweden but I know they are legit and I can visit whenever i want.
Donating is great - just make sure what you are donating to!

Hi all

I do actually help with rescued animals here in Brisbane. I have cared for many a dog via Peninsula Animal Aid.... and found forever homes for them all!

But as is the case sometimes... some volunteers in management become 'nazis' so now I work through animals-in-need.com.au where the primary concern is the animals!!!!

PS A choice of 10 staffies 8 weeks old if anyone in Brisbane is interested ... just have a look at the above site!
