Hi All,

I have been an absolute fool, and want to know if anyone has fallen for it.

I won £11050 on bet365, no promotions or anything just clean cash.

I withdrew it in 6 seperate withdrawals, and closed my computer at 0158am on Friday morning, (days are important here).

I expected them to process it and put it back in my bank.

I went back on on Saturday morning (some 30 hours later) and they still had not processed it and like an fool, camcelled withdrawal and replayed and lost the lot !!!!!!!.

I went to an online chat 3 days later and asked how long does it take to process mmy withdrawals....... they said 2 to 3 hours
I emailed them and was twice told upto 24 hours.
I got a phone call telling me Friday was not a banking day, but part of the weekend
I got another call telling me the reason it was not processed was because of a random audit check
I got another phone call telling me the reason was because in case I wanted to cancel withdrawal, thats why they left it.

They offered me £50 goodwill............. I turned it down
They offered me £250 goodwill............I turned it down

Reported them to the commissionaire and basically said they were in breach of the generic code of conduct - para 15.4

He said that didnt apply to my case (didn't say that in the code) and not to contact them again unless its through a solicitor.

I know I have been a fool and maybe cheeky of me for pursuing, but I would not have replayed it all under any circumstances, I most definately would have gone on again, but not £11,050.

Has this happened to anyone else ? 2 solicitors are telling me to forget it, but hang on a minute, wheres fair play ?, why didnt they process my withdrawals

gogis37,

Sorry you lost all your winnings, but you lost it.

I don't know what the time frame is for payment at Bet365, it is/was your choice to reverse the withdrawal and play your winnings back.

I don't think you have a leg to stand on with this one. And if it's any consolation, it's happened to all of us.

Exactly this is my point !!!!

Yes like a fool I replayed and lost it.. lets look at this for just a second !

They said that they were doing a random audit, if that is the case then if they are not happy to let the funds goto to the bank then they must equally be not happy to let the funds go back and be played.

As soon as they had done there audit they should have processed my funds to the bank.

I really feel that just like yourself.... we have cancelled, replayed and lost and thought well it was me who did it so I dont have a chance, however ladbrokes for example, as soon as you press withdraw, it is removed from your funds and completely dissappears from view until it turns up in your bank, no matter what time or day, now thats FAIR PLAY.

I really feel, that I can pursue this, due to the inaccurancies they have given, upto 24 hours, then why was it still there ?

I probably would have been bothered by the inconsistencies in the responses you were given. Thought the 250 goodwill offer was decent though. Might have been able to take that bankroll and build it back up to another decent withdrawal.

Feel for you-like Anniemac said, being gamblers a lot us have done it.

Im sure this thread wouldnt be here in that if you ended up winning more after reversing. Would you have complained then??
We all have done it, as much as it hurts its nobodys fault but yours for reversing it. I feel for you but its your own doing.

I don't think anyone here can help you, and I think you would be wise not to spend money pursuing through the courts.

You played the money instead of querying why there was a delay until days later.

I think Bet365 was pretty decent to offer you $250 in goodwill. You probably achieved a few comp points along the way, which are fully cashable at Bet365.

As said, most of us have done that same, even if not such a large sum. I have daily on my desk a series of reverse withdrawals from Dec 2007 as a reminder to self.

I don't think it is unusual for larger withdrawals to have a little more scruitiny. You might want to check with Bet365 that all your ID requirements are up-to-date so that any future withdrawal may be speedier.

I agree

Many Thanks for all your contributions and comments, and I wholeheatedly agree with what you said it was my fault etc etc.

But it shouldn't have happened ?, they should have paid me within their period of upto 24 hours, regardless, so it is my intention to pursue and if I can get it changed so somebody else does not end up in our situation, like fools and idiots, then all power to casino meister.

Whats your thoughts ?

Dean

Your story gets played over and over. Person makes deposit...person wins big....person cancels withdrawl...person loses all...person then crys foul and wants money back.

What if after you cancelled withdrawl you had won another 5,000 and the casino came back to you and said.....sorry we should have paid you your winning before the 24 hours was up. You must return the extra 5,000.

Get my point? You made a bonehead move. Casinos are not held to anytime frame to pay you. Suck it up as you have no case to pursue.

Thanks

I know you are right, and the poits you raise are very valid and true about the extra winnings.

I agree I pressed the button, nobody forced my hand, and yes it happens all the time....but it shouldn't !!!!

other online casinos like stan james, and ladbrokes to name 2 disappear instantly, once I request a withdrawal whether I want to play again or not, I have to wait for it to credit my bank before I can redospit and play.

It all works in bet365's favour, it always will, but lets just have a little tip towards us for a change.

I accept your point of extra checks, again I have no problem with that, however they should have ringfenced it all and not just the outbound.

Yes I am crying foul play, because I wouldn't have replayed if they had done their part.

Again, I want to have it changed for everyones benefit as well so we don't have others that find themselves in the preveriable.

Do you seriously expect any casino to reimburse you the money you lost because you decided to reverse it instead of waiting for it to be processed? If casinos did that I'd reverse every withdrawal. What the heck? I might win. And if I don't I'll just ask them to turn the clock back before I reversed it and carry on like it never happened.

This has happened to pretty much anyone who has played online but it's these big ones I can't figure out.

At what point did you start to feel like things were going badly? You had 11k. When your balance fell to 8k did it occur to you that you could very well lose this massive withdrawal? How about 5k? I don't think the problem is the withdrawal being processed 6 hours later than advertised. I think the real problem is you're missing that little voice people have in the back of their heads. The one that smacks you in the back of the ear after you've lost 5 or 6 thousand dollars and says "stop that."

Maybe you could hire someone to stand behind you. I'd do it but I don't aim for the ear.

Hi

Hi Skiny,

Thanks for that and I have already said I agree with you 100%.

When I contacted them and said about all the wrong info I had been given he said to me what do you want to resolve this ?,

I said that I pressed it, but wouldn't/couldn/t if you had of done your bit, so I think 50% would be fair.

I know I am fighting an impossible battle, but its the impossible battles that prevent others like me / us from falling foul of this unfair behaviour.

Who would have thought an illegal immigrrant from suing the British Government for £18m because...wait for it...The country made him unhappy !!!!, can you imagine if he had come on this forum and said what he was thinking of doing, and the responses he would have got.

Oh, I see. So you're trying to get back half of the money you lost (5.5k?) for everyone else's benefit. That's mighty noble of you.

According to your original post the payment was about 6 hours late? Dumping an 11 thousand dollar win back into the casino because the payment was 6 hours late seems at the very least a little impatient. You can fault the casino for not paying on time, although not too many people are going to take a complaint that your payment was 6 hours late too seriously but you can't fault the casino for you reversing the withdrawal and losing it.

The casino owes you nothing. Even if you did somehow manage to convince this casino to pay you (which you won't) you're not going to benefit anyone else because the casino is just going to adjust the T&Cs to make sure they don't have to pay the next time.

"Casino will not reimburse any part of a reversed withdraw under any circumstances."

Click to accept.

End of story.

Hi Skiny,

The withdrawals were 30 hours late, they said it would be processed within 2/3 hours, not unrealistic, but 2 others from 365 said upto 24 hours, thats more like it, 24 hours allows them time to do any checks, this was a Thursday so Friday being a weekday is not unacceltable I think.

After I had made a complaint to the customer services, 4 telephone calls later, they said that I could have the reversal withdraw facility removed, all I had to do was ask for it, my answer was great, yes please but please tell me how I would know this was availble if it is not offered anywhere in T&C's etc.

Is it unrealistic that maybe somebody else benefits from the facility being withdraw, and their winnings going back into the bank ?

something needs to be flushed for sure.

its gogis37 account here.

dude. I'm gonna try to use small words so maybe you can understand...

YOU PLAYED IT ALL BACK.

BOO HOO.

LET IT GO ALLFUCKINGREADY. (<--- OK, THAT WAS KINDA BIG, BUT...)

REALLY???? they offered you 250 quid, pounds, euros, whatever, and you SAID NO!!!!

they shouldn't have offered you anything.

the withdrawl wasn't late ...YOU REVERSED IT!!!

let it go already. you pissed away 11K and now you need to deal with that.

you aren't going to get any sympathy here.

Oh, I'm sorry. It wasn't 6 hours. It was 30 hours. My withdrawal from Bet365 was 3 business days.

I don't really understand. You keep saying you know it was your fault for doing it but you want the casino to pay for it.

I agree I pressed the button, nobody forced my hand, and yes it happens all the time....but it shouldn't !!!!

Yes I am crying foul play, because I wouldn't have replayed if they had done their part.

Here's the thing... The casino is known for paying promptly but even the best businesses have glitches from time to time. It wasn't a serious issue. It was one business day late. I'm pretty sure this casino would like to have paid you in the shortest possible time but not everything goes as smoothly as we would like. I'm also fairly sure whatever the issue was, it wasn't on purpose. If you griped about it enough you might have got a free chip out of it but a day late certainly isn't worth over 5 thousand dollars in penalties.

The casino did not tell you to reverse the withdrawal. You made that decision on your own. They didn't tell you not to either but it was your money. Telling you to reverse it or not reverse it would be no different than telling you what to buy with it. It's your money. Under no circumstances is it the casino's fault that you reversed the withdrawal. It is the casino's fault that you didn't get paid in 24 hours. It's your fault that you're not getting paid at all.

I think Mike said it all, really. :) lol ..btw..the heat is sooo hot here in the USA we are ALLLLLL cranky.

something needs to be flushed for sure.
