After losing my whole paycheck on various online casinos I have decided to give up gambling for good. I don't know how many times I have lost all the money I have been earning hard for a whole month, but I can't go on like this. It wouldn't t be such a big deal if I actually won some money in last 10 months but it has been one long losing streak no matter which online casino we talk about. Although many members have only the best words for some casinos like 32 red , redbet and others, I have nothing to say but the worst. If you want this forum to be something other than the promotion area for those casinos open a thread for people to show how much they lost. I have seen the winning screenshot area, and I would like to say that now I don't believe none of that. So, if you hope to win big online, I wish you all the best. I'm giving up because it's all a big pile of SH*T. Good luck to you all. Wait, luck has nothing to do with it. So, farewell.

It should really be called "big payout screenshots" as this is what it really is. Until a player has actually cashed out and has the money in the bank, it isn't a "win". It looks like you have identified yourself as one of the significant minority that starts out thinking this is an innocent leisure activity with a chance of winning, but now realise that you have been sucked in too deep.

What you can do now is to contact the casinos you have accounts at and ask to be excluded. The reputable ones should immediately do so, and ask you how long you wish this to be for. Problem gamblers should really ask for "permanent exclusion" rather than a limited 6 month exclusion. If you mention that you are asking for this because you have a problem controlling how much you spend, they should act immediately by closing your account on a permanent basis, no attempt whatsoever should be made to get you to reconsider, such as offering a bonus on your next deposit, free chip, etc.

You should then ask to be placed in the "quit gambling" section of this forum, where you can ask others for help with a view to moving on to a life not blighted by the need to spend your monthly paycheck in an effort to win back the losses. As soon as you are confident that you can get the help you need, quit the forum altogether, and perhaps change your email address so that you no longer find yourself deluged with marketing and spam for online gambling opportunities.

If you still end up giving in to temptation, spending another paycheck, you will need further help in order to make it next to impossible to get deposits from your bank and into casinos. One way is to close all accounts that accept such transactions, and then try to get only MasterCard based payment cards, which tend to block gambling transactions more rigorously than Visa.

The bigger the barrier to depositing, the longer you have for temptation to pass without getting sucked in again.

Some gamblers have even asked family and friends to help by having them take charge of their finances, and giving them only what they need for non gambling purposes. This can be a very hard step to take as you lose many of the freedoms in life, not just the freedom to gamble away your wages.

Sorry you had a bad time, but luck DOES have a lot to do with it.
All the online casinos listed on CM run fair and random software - and people DO win big amounts.

BUT... just because they have big wins, that doesn't mean they make any overall profit, because far more important than good luck is having the self-control to know when to stop (or in many cases, know when to not start!).
If you never stop and cash-out after a good run, you will NEVER make a profit.
And depositing money you can't afford to lose is ALWAYS a very bad idea.

Anyway, it seems that gambling is just not for you. Be strong in your resolve to quit and I hope it doesn't take you too long to get back to normal financially. Find another hobby or pastime to focus your attention on.

Good luck

@op:

The screenshot section of this forum is not good for everyone, many players have tried months (and 1000 of $) to see four wilds on IR or 5 wilds on DoA in freespins... Most players never see those things. Or those RJ on RTG...

As KK said, online gaming is probably not for you. And IF you will continue your gambling, do NOT try to win back. You will not manage to do that. See every deposit as lost from start, it's supposed to be lost because of the casinos House Edge.

Good to hear your quitting. Never to early to give up. Sorry to hear about the rest :)

I've quit pretty much every software, I'm ahead at 32 Red (they are my favorite) but I really don't like MG or Netent and I hate RTG. I just think most of the games are to tight, I play online for the better RTP but when you win more playing at your local (on 87-90% RTP) it kinda defeats the purpose of playing online.

I used to be a daily depositer at MG now I deposit $10 maybe twice a week the next stop would be quitting but I do enjoy playing so I've ditched the others and recently have been hitting up Rival with a fair few $30-$40 deposits down the hole. So yes I do see what your saying. I know if you won something occasionally you would probably be able to justify the money spent but when your making regular deposits and hitting nothing decent the entertainment becomes more of an expensive form of clicking your mouse and the excitement more of a bore.

There's a winning screenshots thread and a screenshots that suck thread. So I dont understand what your saying about this forum being one big promotion? I certainly dont agree with that. I've contributed a few pics to the winners section myself (but the big wins stopped coming). Luck has everything to do with it the games are random they play exactly the same on fun mode. My sister loves IR but she would never play the game for real and she spends a fortune at the local.

Anyway wise choice

I have seen the winning screenshot area, and I would like to say that now I don't believe none of that.

Sorry to see you did not win anything and obviously are on a losing streak but dude the screenshots I have posted there are real.
Offcourse they are scarce but when I do hit a nice win I like to share it here.
It seems you can't set a limit for yourself which is then a problem.

But don't think you can't win because everyone has the same chances each and every spin on any given slotmachine.
Nothing different from a landbased casino slot.

And casino's are just like your local grocery store, pub, restaurant, bookmaker,ISP etc etc.
They are a business and are trying to make some money just like any other business.
If you don't keep this in mind then it will make you very irate as you are at the moment buddy.

Nevertheless I wish you good luck in your endavours.

I have no issues with casino's as I win and I lose, that's the name of the game!

Mark.

how to know when gambling takes over

here are a few reasons of things to look at if you are starting to think you have a gambling prob

1 is more money going into gambling than food or bills?

2 are you short to pay rent home loan due to gambling?

3 are you putting it before friends and family?

4 are you borrowing money running up credit cards to play?

5 do you budget every other aspect of you life but don't budget the gambling?

as for the over spending playing online is like playing at any casino you can win big or lose the lot and trying and the big win pictures you see are not from just from one session or even the same month sometimes it takes 100000 spins to get those types of wins if you ever decide to return remember set budget and just play 60 cent bets you can still win hundreds of that even play up to a grand on the od occasion

All has been said already in the earlier posts.

Good that you have decided to quit gamling.

Be strong & stay away from the "money eating" casinos!

I have just posted about yesterday's big winning session at Royal Vegas, a £22,000 withdrawal. Now what this does NOT show is the losing run over many months that preceded this, nor even the £2000 in deposits made on the day itself before the big hits. Over £15,000 went INTO Royal Vegas over an extended period, so this is really a nice £22,000 PAYOUT, but as a "win" at this specific casino, it's less than £10,000. Looking at an even bigger picture, I have played at other casinos where so far I have NOT had "the big hit", so in this sense, even £10,000 ahead at a single casino over 2 years fails to properly represent the overall picture.

Even with deposits of this size, hits such as this are lucky to be seen once a year. Much of the time sees more modest wins and withdrawals, with the house edge gradually grinding away at the total budget as it moves in and out of various casinos.

Over the very long term, the casinos expect to make an overall profit, even taking into account the various promotions available to players. Players who have won overall have been very lucky indeed, either having a run of big hits close together, or having the very rare "lifetime event" such as a monster hit, or progressive payout.

Despite all my play, I have NEVER hit the "lifechanger" of a major progressive jackpot, and the chance of me doing so in the future is still tiny. The fact that I have played since 2004 and not hit a big progressive does not make my chances of doing so any greater, there is no "memory effect" that increases the chance of me hitting just because I haven't. I could play progressives for the next 20 years and still not hit a jackpot, and would still have the same minute chance for the following 20 years as I do right now.

What many players do is when they hit a big PAYOUT, they take some out of gambling and spend it on something else, which means that if they are to lose the whole lot back, it will require "new money" to be earned and gambled to cover the portion of the big payout already spent on non gambling stuff.

Credit cards can be a very big problem, and it seems odd that not only are they accepted as a means of deposit, they are PROMOTED as such for "convenience". Ideally, gambling deposits should be blocked from all facilities where such a deposit comes from borrowed funds. It won't solve problem gambling, but it will prevent people from digging themselves into such a big hole so easily. You CANNOT "chase losses" when every attempt to deposit gets declined, and hopefully, the enforced abstinence will provide an opportunity to calm down and think about the urge, rather than remain "on tilt" chasing ever bigger losses.

Sorry to hear about your problem.
If gambling destroys your life you have to change some fundamental things. Gambling is nothing else like visit a pub or a cinema. It should give you a good time. When I was in the beginning of my 20s I lost a lot of money too. My problem was that I made a good win and lost it. After that I tried to make the same win and busted with every deposit I made. A lot of money was away and never come back.
I stopped gambling and took some help. After 6 month I started to gamble again and since then I never had a problem with it. I see it as entertainment with the chance to win some money.
Please take my advice, search for professinal help as soon as possible. To solve your issues alone is not a good idea, one weak evening and you are in the same situation, believe me. But you are strong enough to make a change, believe me.
I wish you all the best. Sometimes you have to feel the ground to make a new start.
Greetings
Sascha:cheers:

I was on a losing streak for the last 6 months i reckon, then lady luck sat on my shoulder the begining of october, Started with my usual £150 a month limit and so far im well over 3k in winnings for the month, at various sites, Im realistic and know it wont last forever which is why im withdrawing all the money im winning and giving most of it to my girlfriend, i guess its just down to self control, if your chasing, and assuming youve lost ure entire payslip im assuming you are, your very rarely going to have a good month, but if you stick to limits youll occasinally find yourself on a decent run of luck, i wish you the best on giving up as if your willing to bet your entire payslip its frankly obvious you have a problem, Best of luck.

Gambling can get out of control I admit these things occur and there are varying ways as to why this happens.

Probable examples from my side of life as a gambler are from friends who aren’t, I was in a pub back a while ago and we had a few drinks, I played a fruit machine and lost a little. I went to the restroom / toilet and my mate followed me in and said you lost a bit on that machine; they are a waste of time. I replied to him yes I did, but I have drunk about half as much as you have tonight because I had my hands busy, he said yeah but I reckon you spent as much as me.

Granted I said most probably but while we use the facilities I am peeing half as much as you down the drain with no possible return, the machine will take my money but will pay back a little, last I heard urinals don’t do this.

He said to me a while back his car was twice the price of mine and was faster; I reminded him that my car would be less expensive with insurance and it was capable of the same speed limit as his. Legally we would get from A to B at the same time.

His house is bigger than mine with double the rooms and with a bigger garden, my thoughts are a mortgage that is much less and can be paid off much sooner and with no rooms unoccupied that are not of waste. A garden that can be managed much easier and at a lower cost.

We all have differing views on life and these are choices we make personally, our priorities are our own to make. I could live a life where alcohol is my main goal to get through the day, a life where having all the best things in life with a huge debt burden only makes me happy, I could live the most frugal of lifestyles and eat cans of beans and live in a tent while all I count is the money I have saved.

What would be on the gravestones of these people, he / she died an alcoholic and I wonder if the next of kin had to pay for the funeral, he / she died in debt and I wonder if the next of kin had to pay for the funeral and lastly he /she died and the money for the funeral could not be found and I wonder if the next of kin had to pay for the funeral.

Life is a balance gambling is such a broad word for many things.

Yeah I forgot about that rule, have a bad time, get drunk think about the one more time to get it all back, fire up the browser deposit your grannies savings from her will and press start to play, always a winner but for who?

The English sense of humour can be dangerous at times :) where yes means no and no means yes, we have to be careful sir?

Love the dialogue! Especially about the urinals...for I have used the same exact scenerio about doing #2 and flushing away $100 dollar dinners with no returns! LOL..

Thank you guys for the support. I've closed all my accounts permanently and gave my sister my cards so she can take care of my finances for some time. After 15-16 years of constant gambling (mostly local, last two years online) it will be pretty weird not to gamble. Guess I' ll try to get focused on my work, maybe I become more efficient and get a raise :)

Get yourself a hobby, Gamblers tend to have minds that when busy, are happier, so get a new hobby ( mine is gaming ) and just put all your "gambling time" into it, youll find in a couple weeks you wont be thinking about gambling so much, and some point in the future youll laugh at what you used to do, but until that point, get a hobby!

ya, the BF got frustrated with a $200 loss last night - so he got an xbox...same price, but the games last longer and cheaper in the end, looks like he'll take a pause ;)

I've added you to the non-gambling user group. You are free to use the non-gambling sections of the forum (Attic, this section, jokes, etc.) and still have PM capabilities. You can no longer see attachments though - to include screenshots. You might want to read up on this page as well - tips on quitting:

Good luck!

Yeah, I know , I have a few hobbies, playing guitar, video games (anyone playing NBA 2k14 contact me so I can kick your ass) and sports in general, like swimming basketball etc. I have things to do, till I get some money, then I just think how to place a bet somewhere to get my money back from the last couple of months. It's like some kind of a curse. And no one will convince me it s just luck at online casinos. For all the money I have lost I should've got a few more chances to get it back. It just seems you can never get that 5th scatter on a bigger bet no matter how many spins you have played. I remember one time I was on the downswing like -$1500, playing Avalon slot on 32red. Application usually works like a charm but this spin, I remember it clearly, on $5 bet it seems like the application was hit by some kind of lagg and then it came, 1st scatter, 2nd,3rd,4th, and on the fifth line that stinky wild simbol. So you can all see on your 32bet acc how big this win would be, but it just didn't hit me. Needles to say my win of those free spins wasn't pretty big so by the end of the session I was $2000 short. Tough luck?

This is the temptation you have to avoid at all costs. Hopefully, your sister will say NO! if you ask for a bit of money without giving a plausible non gambling reason.

Like alcoholism, you can stay clear for a long while, even years, and then think you are ready for "just a little bet". This is actually a BIG risk, as often the "little bet", or "just one social drink", is all it takes to undo everything and put you right back into the full blown addiction.

No, when I mentioned 'beer goggles' I was thinking of a return of the female variety lol.......

Ah yes I get you but in my experience even the most volatile of slots pale in comparison to the “female variety” imagine a £100 deposit that was lost in seconds, it was good while it lasted but you could walk away and say never again.

Conversely imagine a “female variety” deposit that may only have cost the price of a few pints of lager and a takeaway meal to seal the deal.
Next thing you know you have to continually deposit for the initial play for the next 18 years with absolutely no chance of return.

And no I am not a misogynist, this was merely light hearted banter.

If when you get money all your thinking of is betting, thats a problem, i allow myself a £150/month limit, yes it usually is gone by 3-4th of month, but that is my limit, and i stick to it. If your unable to do this, there is a problem, I can see in this post, $5/spin? Really? Can you afford this? No. Just like i wouldnt be able to, my bets are usually .30-.90/spin, Your obviosly chaseing to hit that "big win" when in reality, its not going to happen, and if it did, Youd then think "well lets go for a bigger win" ive only just posted a thread on this forum in the casino secition but temptation is getting to me, im on an insane run atm, but mainly your thread is detering me from playing, its not a problem to lose £150 to me, thats my usual limit, but i never thought what id do if i won over £3000+ thats the thing bothering me now, i dont want this to sound like im boasting, im anything but, im about 2 seconds away from playing slots myself, but im trying not to.
