General Election 2024 Thread

Been reading Das Kapital again by any chance?
So if you're correct, what's the betting the person who buys your house will be of migrant stock? That'd be a pisser for you!

Has it not occurred to you that some people who start buy-to-let businesses or refurb houses to sell their labour on at a profit are individuals like you and me maybe? Small businessmen that the govt. loves to encourage? That work hard and take risks instead of shouting at the sky and spending their time moaning about how hard and unfair life is? Y'know, better themselves without a sense of entitlement and expectation the taxpayer will fund their life?

Chances are it will be rented out to a needy family or similar. Help the housing 'crisis' a bit...

Is there no permutation of events and factors in this nation (that you don't even live in) that you won't aim your bile at?

So if the current system is so virtuous, why is everything so fucked?

The single strongest indicator for wealth as an adult in the UK, is if you're born into wealth. The lie of the meritocracy, 'work hard and you'll succeed' is what they tell everyone to keep them quiet. If you're poor, or don't own a house, or can't even afford the basics of life, you're just not trying hard enough.

By many metrics the UK has never been richer, and yet most everyone's skint, including the government, so who's got all the money? Because it sure as hell isn't the immigrants scraping by on the breadline.

You would think the UK learned from the issues in Germany and now Sweden with mass immigration of muslims. One would think they almost do this on purpose.

I used to trash US laws, right in these threads because I thought obsession with owning guns was crazy and ridiculous. My stance has changed dramatically and think it would be a very bad idea for their citizens to give up their guns.

Yeah it would be funny him reading the quran.... "you shall kill the non believers" and then changing the page and all of the sudden it says "thou shalt not kill" 🤣
I also stuck a menu in from my local Pork Butchers shop

Mainly @dunover - but food for thought all round IMO.

UK national debt has increased SEVEN HUNDRED BILLION POUNDS since the start of Covid, where's all that money gone?

And don't say 'it's been spent on furlough' or 'helping people with their electricity bills' or any of that nonsense, because none of those people have that money any longer, it just went through them.

Where has the money ended up, who has it now? It hasn't just disappeared.

That is a massive amount of extra money sloshing around, because remember, one man's debt is another man's asset, so that seven hundred billion pounds is owed to someone, that's an asset on their balance sheet. If you want an explanation for crazy inflation, it's right there.

Immigrants barely scraping together a living are not the problem here.

There was talk of the 2030 agenda reset thing "You will own nothing and be happy" that huge firms such as Blackrock will buy up all of our housing and rent them back to us. We will rent cars for car sharing with neighbours and rent all of our white goods. I can't see that going down very well. Mrs Patel across the road has terrible bad breath so no way is she sharing a car with me

Yes, but national debt isn't murdering schoolgirls with knives? I thought that was recent subject in this thread. And the USA has operated on a national debt sucessfully for decades, one which pro-rata is eye-watering compared to any European nation. $35tn at last count. Or in £, twice the UK's per head of population. Moving on...

I won't ask how you even know that....

As a thought experiment, how many of the rioters do you think are loaded? Or even well off? Or even financially comfortable?

Do you think people are setting off from their nice houses, leaving the Lexus parked on the drive, to go and smash up Sunderland town centre?

Quite possibly. Ask the poice to do a survey on them. MORI or IPSOS may turn up and enquire with them. Remember the organized football violence in the 80's and 90's? Many professionals were reported to be involved. The male desire for adrenaline via violence transcends all classes.

With Russia, India,China,Brazil,South Africa,Egypt,Iran,UAE joining the new BRICS currency the Dollar is at risk of falling apart leaving the USA bankrupt as far as I understand it.

Loading up? Who did the unloading?:laugh::laugh:
I don't have a tumble drier so I stuck her smalls out on my washing line where an endangered bird decided to nest in the gusset of one of her undercrackers and the council said that it could not be touched until it finished nesting. They have been flapping about on my line for 6 weeks now

@geordiecolin I won't comment on my opinion on the tate brothers but I hate them that is all I will say lol.

I hate a lot of "influencers" though, they are all as bad as eachother. All they do is compete with eachother like you stated to try and be the first and the best. They must be shallow if that is all they care about though.

On a side note I finally went to the opticians today, I was long over due 12 years the last time I went for a eye test my glasses that I had the last 12 years are superglued in 2 places I have had to re glue them many times over the last few years as well.

But I have now ordered 2 pairs a fcuk pair of glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses. I can not wait to pick them up on Friday.

Then 1 last thing, I saw again Kier Starmer today call all the protesters "far right" I know I was doing the same and I still stand by it that the majority are far right, there will be some right as well and maybe some centre, But the counter protesters are on the left or far left.

I think Starmer is wrong in stating all was far right, that is what it came across like when he said it in his news conference. Obviously it is painting a picture and I think because of what is happening in the USA and other countries in recent weeks I am guessing it is partially due to that because it is a agenda atm to try stamp out far right extremists.

I will also add not all far righters are extremists but the vast majority are. I am not labelling them.

I have bought a few pairs over the past 4 years and each time I revert back to using those cheap glasses from poundland cos they work so much better

I first went to the optician's about 6 months after meeting the missus.

Yeah but you can not get prescription ones from poundland. I mean I suppose you can take them to the opticians with your prescription to get them done, but they will still charge you for the lenses.

Its ok I like him sometimes haha

Tate brothers are the worst. I know a lot of people on the right like them. I have them blocked on all my social media. They are arrogant and disgraceful. Yes, I know they have helped some unfortunate people and I applaud them for that..but overall, really annoying and ridiculous rhetoric.

There is something very disingenuous about a supposed elite sportsman with a huge cigar sticking out of their cakeholes

Nigel is very concerned (so concerned he didn't even bother to attend the recent parliamentary debate, and instead made a dog-whistling video about, erm, how very concerned he is).

Currently we're at the 'mob trying to set fire to hotels with people inside them' stage of things.

The absolute vast majority of people have no problem with immigration, and those that do can protest at the ballot box.

His statement is pandering to and excusing the violent thugs putting people and property at risk. Dog-whistling frog-faced twat.

It's not hard to set fire to a building (although I've never tried!) one Molotov cocktail would probably do it.

The blm folk (just caring, decent honest folk) in the US seemingly had no trouble at all.

Plus killed a policeman who was a grandfather and other innocent folk, but they were basically lauded as well-intentioned.

Yvette Cooper looked a bit tired to me the other day when she was speaking, if labour keep this up they'll have fast forwarded to yr 14 of the Tories when they looked absolutely spent.

The vast majority do not have a problem with immigration. However, the vast majority DO have a problem with unchecked, illegal immigration which has seen the population explode over the past 20 years. Putting a massive strain on public resources.

In every town up and down the country you see people sleeping rough in shop doorways and soup kitchens in operation every evening feeding the homeless. Yet vast amounts of public resources are spent on housing, feeding and providing health care for illegal immigrants, who have entered the country illegally.

This is a very very real problem. Unfortunately we are at the point now that successive government inaction on the issue has meant we have reached a tipping point.

Also FYI, I don't see Farage's videos as dog whistling at all. He speaks for a lot of people.

Seeking refuge in another country because he fears for his safety and the safety of his children eh?

I wonder if anyone will try to burn down the hotel he's staying in to express their 'legitimate concerns'?

Note he doesn’t add “I ran here to escape a court appearance which would probably have landed me in custody for a period of time”.

I wonder what the Cypriots think about having people on the run from the authorities in their own country landing on their doorsteps.

A lot of homelessness issues are down to addiction problems - it is the case that many services struggle to accommodate addicts because of their complex needs. Many do not have the wish or will to get clean and sober. It’s a vicious cycle.

And whether or not you agree with immigration (and the scale of “illegal” immigration is not huge), Farage’s statement does attempt to legitimise the thugs who have “legitimate concerns”.

There is no excuse at all for torching hotels and putting lives at risk. There is no excuse for looting. It’s travelling coked-up thugs on a day trip spoiling for a fight.

Blackrock needs to be known about by the public more. Disgusting people, doing disgusting things, behind that company.

Nige is a 2 faced peice of shit only there to divide the people (none chops, etc) who give a shit about their country and its children, but, occasionally, once a decade, gets it right.

Where have I condoned any of the mindless violence? You will find I haven't.

What I have said and I will state again is that we are at a tipping point, due to 20 plus years of uncontrolled migration into the UK allowed by successive governments.

Two Tier Keir still refusing to recall parliament I see...

Probably many MPs are abroad on holiday, so it would be a real inconvenience 😎

Don't think Chop's even gone that far, if the vast majority did we'd never have voted leave.

1% of the total population is my guess what people would be happy with, and it would work better.

Think we're at around 10% or more that would not put white British on the census.

Words like refugee or asylum seeker are bandied about, most people react negatively when they hear it, they've had enough.

Of course, if you're a liberal then there's never too much immigration.

Have to confess I didn't have 'agreeing with Priti Patel' on my to-do list for today, but there we are!

I think even some of the more right-wing Tories are realising that being seen in the same camp, and/or being part of the enabling faction for what we've seen over the last few days - isn't a great look.

It is a scandal worthy of outrage, but it’s not the fault of the families - many with young children - who are living there now. They have the least amount of power in this situation - they have to live there, they can’t hurry up their applications and they have no agency. And yet it was they who were locking themselves and their frightened families in their rooms as the mob approached last night.

There were no police there at the time - and the police need to explain why. Of course, we appreciate they were operating in a pressure-cooker situation, where they had to make difficult decisions in the moment. They were certainly doing an admirable job in the circumstances. But what panned out was, a group of the counter-protesters, maybe fewer than 100 at first, but it quickly grew to 200, did what the police didn't and accurately predicted that the real battleground those marching and chanting Tommy Robinson’s name wanted was at this hotel.

Far-right: Threaten violence

Reform: These are legitimate concerns

Far-right: Start riot

Reform: Protestors are angry

Far-right: Brick police

Reform: We can see the strength of feeling

Far-right: Break into migrant hotel to kill people

Reform: Why didn't Labour stop this?

This would be sinister enough even without the context of what happened over the weekend, but this footage of Farage being chauffeured around in his posh car and expensive suit, drawing attention to hotels where asylum seekers are being housed, now takes on a whole new level of irresponsibility and incitement.

The far-right have been ingesting his poison for years, and now we've seen how it all ends up.

With even Tories like Priti Patel appearing to come to their senses when it comes to dancing with the devil, I am at least hopeful that we can move into a different phase of discourse around immigrants and asylum seekers, and see them for what they actually are, human beings just like the rest of us.

You cannot run or have a country where anyone whose life is pretty **** and unbearable in another part of the world can just move here, and justify on the basis 'we're rich' because we already have millions close or on the poverty line.

Putting aside issues of culture etc...there is only so much to go round, we're already struggling with crime (probably the highest level in Europe?) housing, doctors and hospital appointments, special education needs, the list is endless.

It is woefully irresponsible and neglectful to welcome more to settle here.

If you look at the average person, they do not like to admit they are wrong. They cannot accept their views have been wrong. It's built inside of most people. It's ego, arrogance, false confidence etc. Stuck in their old ways.

The left was never even close to this craziness. They used to be anti-war. Even though they keep moving the goalposts to crazy extremes, the base follows. Follows to the end until suddenly they cross lines. Even the left is starting to normalize pedophilia and use less offensive terms. And before you know it, you have an entire base now supporting it.

If everyone reset their brains, took a step back and looked at the world and saw the below, they would choose differently.

Insane inflation
War in Ukraine
War in the middle east
Possible war in Taiwan
Democratic run countries constantly rioting, fighting and burning things down (USA, UK, France)
Out of control gas prices
Gender/child/pubery blockers/mutilation
Out of control illegal immigration (causing murders, drug overdoses, rape, sexual assaults, strain on healthcare)
Mass immigration (causing all of the above)
USA at risk of losing the power of the dollar
record household debt
record national debt
race wars

And then you look at when the right was in control for example the US

No inflation
Low gas prices
World peace
Lowered taxes
Says dumb things.

The media and world powers behind the scenes have these people so brainwashed, after all of the above, they will still vote for the left. Not only that, they will argue and look for any little type of argument to actually try and convince you otherwise.

When it comes down to it, if you hypnotized these people, you would hear the truth. Why you are voting left "orange man bad". Would be most of the responses.

Remember when i ran the country and there was world peace.
Trump should run on that instead of MAGA, much more impactful.
Lets make the world peace again.

Winnie the Pooh is truly the greatest orange 'man' ever

He was able to deal with Eeyore depression rather well
He toughened up Christopher Robin
He had a great best friend in Tigger
He listened and learned from the great owl
And even though he is a bear, he never tried to eat piglet or rabbit

Not sure i would put Tigger as best friend, surely Piglet and possibly also Christopher Robin would be higher up on the best friend list.
And while i am a big fan of Poohs early work i think some of his recent career choices have been questionable.

Edit: My god, there is already a sequel.

lol

I believe after hours Tigger and Pooh did some heavy drinking together. If you notice how Pooh stirs his pot, he is clearly making honey beer.

When you see pooh a tad annoyed at Tigger, its likely because Tigger didnt pay the bill again and/or pooh is slightly hungover.

This is what I figured when watching anyways

Given that Trump has attracted a lot of Billionaire donors this time I wouldn't be so sure that the list of positives would be so long next time if he got in. Billionaires are usually also associated with the WEF and we all know how politicians and Parties can be influenced by lobbyists and world bodies.
It is the world bodies that are responsible for huge immigration after all.
