It may surprise you, but it doesn't surprise me. The election is over. The result is clear. A resounding win for the Conservatives, who (if they play their cards right) may well be in government for the next decade and possibly even into the 2030s.
Why would you expect the Labour supporters who commented in this thread to "stick around" and read a load of posts from folk, some of whom are 1. wanting nothing more than to have a good gloat about the result and 2. seem to want to continue bringing Chopley's name up, nearly one month after his last post in this thread?
Me personally, I think it's time to move on and to focus on what happens next. - the eventual outcome of Brexit (whatever that actually is) and what happens on the domestic agenda front for the next 5 years.
Those things are, in my humble opinion, something that should be discussed in a new thread, not this one.
Oh and I should mention that I am speaking as someone who is actually HAPPY with the election result.
And erm....correct me if I am wrong, but last time I checked, any CM member can leave a thread that he/she has participated in at any time of their choosing. I was merely assuming (perhaps incorrectly) Choppers chose to exercise that right, because he had had enough of this thread a long time ago.
That was the point I was trying to make. Obviously I made the mistake of stepping out of line by having the audacity to state that political threads on this forum generally turn toxic. That'll teach me to be Captain Obvious
