"We knew it was going to be a challenging Election" - Labour

Conservatives take Blythe Valley
Whilst I voted to remain, this is what happens when you treat an electorate like a shower of fucking chumps, telling them (in a populist tone), ’vote and we will stop it’
Swinson is basically a pro remain Tory who’d sell her granny for a Bonanza bonus and she’s now got teeth marks on her arse.
She’s a body on her.To be fair. She does have a nice rack to go with that arse.
Watching the odious wretch now...Gina Miller finally accepting that we are leaving the EU but says the fight isn't over. Give it up Gina.

Must be a true quote from Monnet since there's a picture of it
BTW: I believe the origin for that quote is a book by Vaclav Klaus. In which he didn't source it either![]()
So he didn't want a federal union?

So he didn't want a federal union?

How can we know 67 years later if the quote has any basis of truth or not, it's accepted monnet was a federalist which is circumstantial evidence; and what it describes seems to be happening, the EU has been taking " successive steps" towards federalisation.

in 3 posts + a 'crap' ...You 'liberal' guys do me in sometimes, so consistently impolite and personal... I got to hold myself back here believe me
I think the veto power is going to be weakened so more votes can be forced through by majority.
Anyway, I don't want to take away from the celebrations of last night, there's no point discussing the EU.
BTW that's five of thesein 3 posts + a 'crap' ...You 'liberal' guys do me in sometimes, so consistently impolite and personal... I got to hold myself back here believe me

Sunderland Central Brexit again stop Conservative taking this seat, 9,997 reduced to 2,964

Well, congrats are on order that for once you actually managed to decisively vote for something.
Christmas is definitely coming! View attachment 119663
Shouldn't forget though that the Tories had the majority when they started the BREXIT process and managed to screw it up gloriously over a period of 3 years. What convinces you that they will do a better job this time?
Oh, I forgot, Boris promised to die in a ditch. Now, we can't let that happen, so out the door it is, pretty please!![]()

BS Harry - they had a small majority, but in terms of Brexit not a workable majority due to malcontents like Ken Clarke and Soubry. Boris purged the traitors and now has an 80-seat majority (effectively a 96 majority as the Sinn Fein terrorists won't sit in Westminster and the speaker doesn't vote.)
So now we have an effective government.
It's also good news for the Labour seats who went over to them, as Boris is really going to have to work at retaining at least half of them next time round so if he's got any political brain, you'll see some of the wealth and investment redirected to the north and other old industrial areas and screw London.
Labour voters in the safe NE seats for example were always loyal to the party who in turn did bugger-all for them. They never traditionally expect the Cons to do anything either, so in terms of Brexit had nothing to lose by going blue. As I said above, they could be in for an ironic and pleasant surprise if Boris wants to keep some of them.
The bottom line is many of those losers in the Labour party are still deluded and in denial if you listen to them whining about the worst Labour result since 1935 - they conveniently hide behind the Brexit cloak as the reason for their abject failure and refuse to learn from history that Britain is a country that never has and never will elect an extreme Neo-Marxist socialist government, especially under a lunatic like Corbyn, the posh-boy radical student who never grew up and has never done a real day's work in his life.
In his Guardianista tower he has never understood the British people, he arrogantly thinks because a few stoned teenagers sung his name at Glastonbury that he is some kind of prophet and Mr. Cool. Perhaps he should've listened to some of the more accomplished old rock stars like Roger Daltry and Noel Gallagher who both called him a 'Fuckin' Commie'.
Corbyn is the 1668/JAZ of politicians, no better than other posh-boy traitors like Blunt, Burgess and MacClean. He's handed the Cons. such a majority they would have to fail badly to avoid winning the next election in 4 or 5 years.
If the Labour party wants to have a chance of winning again, they need to purge the far left Trots and Marxists and SWP types from their party, beginning with Corbyn, Abbott and McDonnell.
I could call that BS too because if I remember well, the Conservatives had a comfortable majority but decided to squander it away in snap elections.

Noticed that Labour'll be seeking a new frontman soon after THAT showing, then remembered how I'd seen Lord Buckethead 10 minutes earlier

That guy'd be a great representative of the people, he looks super-t'Northern and has even got the capI'd vote for him
I hope that mcdonnell buggers off too, he's only 2 years younger than corbum but he seems younger, more aggressive and shadowy too
But as long as this bloke doesn't become the new leader I'm not minded, they ought to go female for a change.

She could be the new Eadie Macreadie in Balamory?Jo Swinson giving her dramatic farewell speech, about how we should all hug each other and be better human beings......whilst getting a few Boris digs in
But having watched her speak a good couple of minutes now, a future in children's television beckons
May inherited a majority of 4 I think. Hardly what I'd call 'comfortable'
They had the majority by a larger margin after the 2015 election and squandered it away bit by bit. And yes, that was a comfortable majority since you have quite a split parliament with a relatively large number of parties.
