Well, i just had one of the most embarassing days I've had at home in a long time. I won't go into the details but it was triggerred by a promotional letter from Fortune Lounge arriving through the post.

Plastered on the front was a "7 Sultans Casino" logo and stamp - unfortunately i wasn't first to the post yesterday but that's the end of any Fortune Lounge casino gaming i ever do thats for sure.

Maybe everyone else is proud to let the world they know they gamble at online casinos - but me? Nope.

Thanks a bunch guys.

Know the feeling, Simmo!

I once talked to someone from Proccyber & he said one of the reasons casinos use them is so players won't be embarrassed by the names of casinos appearing on their credit card bills.

It's amazing that some casino groups don't seem to understand and still ring or send out junk mail with their logo emblazoned on the front :axeman:

^ Hey Simmo - is that the thumb you're under?

It doesn't look very big to me... :D :D :D

LOL. Trust me its big enough KK :) Actually it wasn't my partner that was the problem in this case. She couldn't care less as ong as i keep it sensible. It was just poor timing and followed a conversation i had with someone else recently who just happened to be staying over.

I've had a couple of sympathetic emails from people following this post and I just feel that while i appreciate that FL and other casinos have a business to run, they really need to think carefully about the integrity of their players and realise that not everyone thinks gambling is a good thing!

I intend to start making players at Oggs aware of casinos that mail out in this way as if i'd been aware that this would happen, i wouldn't go near the casinos in question. I signed up to FL primarily to research the operation for my website and while i think they generally run a tight ship, this sort of thing does impact the player and should be made public.

In a way its similar with Ecash and Crypto casinos. Those letters come emblazoned with the Ecash logo and while a quick thinker can probably explain it away, it may catch some people unawares and cause unnecessary embarassment.

I think casinos ought to have an opt-in for players to receive snail-mail, or at the very least, send out letters without a logo on.

My $0.02 anyway.

Cheers

Actually you have made some fair points there - especially about the postal mail. It's not a problem for me as my other half knows I'm a kasino addict, but doesn't mind because she knows I make money from it! The main problem I have is she keeps asking for her share of my winnings!
But I can understand why some would prefer NOT to get mail that's clearly labelled on the outside!

I'd be interested to hear what happens if you try to unsubscribe from FL e-mails. I unsubscribed about 5 times but they still kept coming! Though my latest attempt does seem to have finally worked...

I am currently compiling a list of ALL MG casinos with their SUB's and key wagering conditions (Bonus hunter's handbook!). If you're interested, I can let you have a copy for your website when it's finished. (Probably about a week from now).

I also got one in a plain envelope with an innocuous return address, Satra Technology Centre, Kettering. It said something about exciting developments since I last played at Fortune Room (about 2 days ago  ). Sadly no bonus. :(

No bonus, then there is nothing exciting!

Oh Simmo, you shouldn't play at Casino 365 because they mail out snail mail every few months and then with their logo on the front of the envelope!

I was just wondering, did anyone else get this FL letter, which basically says:-

"We want you back at our casinos because we've paid out $65,839,037.14! (By the way, we're not offering you any bonus or anything - isn't the fact that we've paid out $65.8M enough of an incentive!)"

And if you did get one - did you resist the great temptation to go back to them?

Why do they send you emails telling you that you haven't played for a while but you still have some money at one their casinos? Come back and play or your money will be forfeited when in fact you have zero, zilch, nadda at any of their casinos?

Is this not objectionable? :icon_evil

They sent me a letter informing me they have added $5 to my account :eek2:

Wasn't to bad as I ended up withdrawing $50 after a few lucky spins ;)

In my case there was no money! None of mine and none of theirs!
So why do they give me information that is false?

Did you get the 'there's money in your account' type e-mail I used to get from Havana Club until they thankfully forgot about me? I think they'd justify it by saying it meant, idiomatically, you might be able to make money using your account. A bit like saying 'there's money in on-line casino bonus whoring'.

Of course what they mean is: waste some time re-downloading our software, get annoyed with us, deposit some money to 'teach the casino a lesson' & lose your deposit :D

There was a motel that thought that it would be a good thing to send a letter of appreciation to everyone that stayed there. Some of the spouses were intrigued. The practice was discontinued. ;-)

By the way, don't toss out those plastic electronic motel keys. Got someone to get even with? Slip them into his coat pocket and wait for the Misses to find them.
