Fortune Lounge Masquerading as own Affiliate for Spamming Purposes?

Hell NO it hasn't stopped. ....

Ok, well that answers that question. One of the casino people was under the impression that you were now FL spam free.

Later: one question Bern: is there any specific reason that you are targeting FL here? If you've like me you're probably getting spammed by all sorts of folks.

Hi Bernyhell,

I understand your frustration, but please refrain from flaming the casino and its reps. We'll get nowhere this way.

Please forward me the offending spam and I'll get with the aff manager to have this guy's account closed.

Please understand that this has nothing to do with the casino - we're dealing with a rogue affiliate who needs to be put into his place.

Berny seems to be saying it is the SAME affiliate, just a different name but the SAME Email/Domain. The Email and Domain show it to be the SAME affiliate, yet surely his FL affiliate account should ALREADY have been closed after the string of complaints early in the month.

Am I to assume that FL simply told this affiliate "don't do it again" rather than closing the account, and said affiliate simply laid low for a week or two, and started up all over again.

This is an ongoing problem with casinos, affiliates who BREAK THE RULES should be shown the same degree of "leniency" that PLAYERS who break the rules are shown. The rough equivalent to the usual "confiscation of winnings & banned from the casino" should be "affiliate account closed, and pending payments for the month of spaming confiscated".

If the affiliate wants to appeal, treat them like the player who appeals, account LOCKED pending outcome, not business as normal (spamming) while they still can to maximise profit before pressure forces action.

Even this does not stop the affiliate from moving to another set of casinos and continuing to spam, but it makes it more troublesome for them, and reduces the eventual profit they make.

When people receive casino spam, ESPECIALLY those who don't actually play, it is the CASINO that gets the blame, not the hidden affiliate. Looking at the average casino spam, the CASINO'S name (and reputation) is all over it, the fact that the offer is from an AFFILIATE is often nowhere to be seen.

Some casinos use VERY similar tactics to the spammers with their own "legitimate" marketing, so it is easy to confuse the two. Casinos also suffer because the spammer makes wild promises on behalf of the casino which players find are unfulfiled when they sign up and deposit - they then blame the CASINO for reneging on the deal, and add them to their own personal rogue list.

Amen to that VWM!!

I originally targeted FL here because until very recently the offensive spam originating at said spamhaus was exclusively FL new sign up deals.

However, I am sorry to say, after over two months, hundreds of spam emails forwarded to FL, reports to SpamCop.net plus this thread, spam originating from the very same scuz-buckets now include, as I thought I had made perfectly clear in yesterday's post, in addition to FL promos, new sign up offers from Slots Plus, Grand Mondial and Casino Share (see third paragraph and end of my last post).

The message being sent to me as I see it: The total lack of due diligence on the part of FL in regards to their own anti-spam policies has emboldened this spammer to include more, otherwise, respectable casinos in his spam campaign, going so far as to include two casinos currently residing in the accredited casino list right here at good ol' CM!

I'm sorry if I hadn't made that clear. There is no excuse for this to still be occurring. This is a highly sophisticated spammer who's identity must have certainly been crystal clear to FL the very first time I complained (Aug 6) given the volume of original casino web artwork they are cramming into my inbox. (ouch!)

I understand your frustration, but please refrain from flaming the casino and its reps. We'll get nowhere this way. - CM

I totally respect this and, to tell you the truth, I couldn't help but wince every time I highlighted that copy for "super-sizing." Wont happen again. After all, you're the boss and I am a guest.

That said, I can't help but wonder what FL is thinking after all that's been said and done while they sit idle as this problem not only continues, unabated, but ecsalates. I take their disrespect personally, on my behalf and as a CM member.

Additionally, I interpret the non-actions of FL and the continued affronts by their affiliate as no less than a direct slap in all of our faces - change that to SPITTING in our faces - because that's how it feels. And should Grand Mondial and Slots Plus stand mute on this, given their status here, well, I can't tell you how to feel, Bryan, and you already know my position on it.

I'll do as you say and leave it up to you. It was yesterday that I found the addition of the 3 casinos mentioned in the same spam containing the FL promos and I am just adding the spam -reporting email address to my contacts and will then forward the emails to them demanding that they rein in this affiliate.

Today there is no new spam from Sam F, so far, though I haven't checked to see if it is there under a new alias.

For once Bern, I actually agree with what you have highlighted You have given them ample opportunities to stop this spamming. - chuchu59

lol He said, "For once..." Oh well. I'll take what I can get. Thanks chuchu.

I do admit (and I thought it was obvious) that I don't post to be popular. I DO post problems I have with casinos that I sincerely believe must be impacting other CM members as well as myself. I am often dumbfounded to find no posts about situations I rush here to reply to, only to later find dozens of replies to the thread I started because no one else did. My style is intended to make the biggest noise possible for effectiveness in ending a problem asap. I did it for a living and I am very good at it. This is not an apology and you wont find any from me. Anywhere. My posts should offend no CM member as they are directed at the casino's, who we patronize with our hard earned cash and who need no defense from me by anyone here. If anyone reading my posts are embarrassed FOR me because of my directness, lack of tact, out-spoken manner, etc., don't be. These posts are for MY benefit, first and foremost and nobody's name is ever given credit for my words but mine. And, yes, I'm not for everybody. I thought my handle and avatar were fair warning enough for those of you with weak stomachs.

Bertha@GREATRENTALNEWS.COM is a new spammy face in my in-box with sign up deals I don't need for River Nile, English Harbour and Casino Share. To any reps seeing this - pass it on while I forward the the spam to affiliate mgrs.

Of course all this while there's the TON of spam for the $2400 deal at World Casino - whoever that is - the same web page and the way it looks I wouldn't go there if the 2400 was no deposit w/0 WR and 100% cashable. But this never gets past the junk mail filters and its these top of the casino's who's opening offers that I cant use clogging my inbox that really pisses me off.

So, FL, CasinoShare, and English Harbour, if you're wondering why I haven't deposited in so long, now you know. And not a dime long as I can find your affiliates dumping your junk in my mail. River Nile, I don't recall you except that I have registered an account there and I just know that I'll never get around to you is all.

Sam F (news@gameanalyze.com)'s newest offers 14 links to FL signup offers!

Sam F (news@gameanalyze.com) newest spam includes no less than 15 links, 14 for sign up deals at Fortune Lounge Casinos including "Amazing money offer of 399 that has no restrictions" that takes you here: Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) . One of the links is to Grand Mondial. Four in my inbox within the last 24 hrs from Sam F alone! All new sign up deals mostly for FL casinos that I haven't been eligible for in YEARS!

I forward these emails demanding they quit only every few days to: Spam@FortuneAffiliates.com since after weeks and weeks of complaining to them and even reporting to SpamCop.net FL has never ever replied in any way, shape or form. As a matter of fact, I have forwarded spam to no less than half a dozen addresses Bryan has listed on the "Fight Casino Spam Page" here at CM, reported countless others to SpamCop.net and NO casino group's affiliate manager has ever replied. No casino spam has stopped or even reduced in volume. In fact, it's gotten WORSE! And I have NEVER clicked unsubscribe in any casino spam. WTF Bryan?

Tellmeaboutit RW! I got FIVE spam emails from SAM F just in the last 24 hrs!! Forwarding all five to the so-called Fortune Lounge Anti-spam emaill address @ spam@fortuneaffiliates.com which I now suspect to be nothing more than a throw-away address used to make people like us and CM just go away. 90% Fortune Lounge new sign up offers. Other offers from CasinoShare, Grand Mondial and SlotsPlus have been included in many Sam F spam.

I never liked Fortune Lounge. As far as larger groups go, I think Fortune Lounge is right down there with the likes of Sunny Group and Casino Rewards. This spam crap is fast plummeting Fortune Lounge to the bottom of that s**t pile. I doubt that, no matter what, going forward, I'd ever patronize FL again.

I use Chrome now and haven't figured out how to use their "Inspect element feature" for SpamCop.net though I should use IE, I guess, since Window Live's "view source" formats perfectly except for eliminating the double spaces. Besides, all the reporting I have done to SpamCop.net hasn't seemed to stop or even reduce spam by one iota.

Thank God I dont do MG's. I keep getting some casinobuster thing but thats about it. BTW Bern....One of the very few MG's I did play at was RiverNile and they did pay me , jsut an FYI but that was years ago

This thread is not about MG casinos, Babs. And on that note, I have never had a payment prob w/MG casinos (just some very slow). & no problem w/software (MG most frequented/played/popular online casinos) and never a question about fairness - I think MG Slots are among the best, when it comes to being able to hit substantially early in the game and also getting a nice payout with smallish bets.

This thread is about some casino operators whom I suspect have written anti-spam policies and then offered links (which Bryan has invested considerable time and effort to list here at CM) for forwarding offending spam containing offers from these same casinos where, once the forwarded spam is received, we are told to believe that someone is there to read the forwarded spam, see which of their affiliates are sending it and then actually do something to stop the spam.

What I believe to be actually true, however, is that once casinos first started getting some, then more complaints about their spam, first from players, then from Bryan contacting them in response to mounting anti-spam threads on CM, word spread among them, and they started writing these strict-sounding, anti-spam policies. They then sent them to CM and published them wherever along with the email address (many, I think, being just throw-away email addresses where everything is deleted and nobody has ever been assigned to check them, let alone read any of it) to give us "something to take action" with, then when the complaints tapered off, which was the best reason for pretending to care at all, casios just continued to do nothing, which was their original intention.

I have forwarded/reported spam to half a dozen of these casinos, writing them to "tell your affiliate to quit spamming me!" hundreds of times over he last few months and never, ever has one casino or casino group replied. I forward all the emails to SpamCop.net - nothing, nada, rien! Not even an "auto response" email letting me know they got any of my messages! Not one message here from any reps either. No rep has even replied in a post here, not to me, anyway. One rep replied, on the defensive, here to a post by maxd, I think, but not to me.

I no longer patronize any casinos I've mentioned in this thread and urge people to request that spam they recieve promoing casinos stop and then if nothing happens, don't deposit in those casinos going forward unless some action taken by the casino(s) is satisfactory.

But don't be surprised if it's just smoke up your ass and I've been farting smoke rings for a while now..
