Do you 'avoid' a slot after a big hit?

yes. mostly i play IR and BDBA. i consider a big hit if at IR i win in bonus ~400E on 0.60-0.90. maybe is just me but always when i kept playing after a similar hit, slot was totally cold taking loads of spins without feature or any good in-game winnings. now after such hit, i stay away for 1 day at least and when i'm back i play on 0.30 only until i feel the slot is hot or have something to offer.

in BDBA after a successful FS round, meaning lots of BDBA symbols or a very good line x10, i play only 0.18 until i feel enough dead spins and features passed. i use to play 0.45-0.54 and 0.45 with x2 coin if im doing well.

of course, seeing gamblers like Dianne or Blathaon with big hits one after another, i know is just BS in my head and slot can strike again another big hit very shortly but most of the time when i kept playing my usual bets i got broke in no time after such hit.

Not usually.

There are some games that I don't play often that are very high variance, or a few that require bigger bets. If I do play some on them, I will usually leave after a big hit, but I usually leave after a few spins with no hits as well. For me that "big hit" might not even be 100x bet but it's a couple of hundred dollars.

If it's on one of my favourites, I usually carry on playing for at least a while. I might change games if I'm trying to meet a WR, or I'll go play some games that need a bigger bankroll.

But I do believe enough in randomness that I don't think the slots go cold or run hot. It just seems that way.

No, I don't avoid them but I sure should sometimes!

When "Arctic Adventure" went live at 3Dice I just happened to be there.

I played....... kissed the queen............ got my 100 free spins at 10x the bet,

which was only 20c. Won $190 and some odd dollars.

She has been a cold hearted wench ever since!

Whenever I get a good hit on a machine, I always take 1 more spin for good luck ( superstitious I guess ). I have hit back to back a few times. Then I move on, but it does not influence my play on that machine on a future day.

Well, we know RTP because of randomness tends to move in curves, and when you've had a large win, yes, you can win again but the odds are you will have peaked and go down again. With random slots you would and maybe should expect to take a dip after a good pay, and this is why I haven't bothered TSII much on LaVida since my 2k plus x stake 4-reel shitstorm. I have previously played on after big hits and cannot honestly say that I have won more.

Well, I guess most sane people are aware of this fact. Tell you what - if a slot changed probabilities based on prior hits it would be a solid reason for the casino to loose their eCogra / TST certificate right there. Cause that's one of the key things those certificates confirm: full randomness regardless of the prior observations.

Yet many people would indeed switch the game or do other tricks because they feel more comfortable this way or just consider it a fun experience.

Here is another interesting observation: most B&M casinos and many online casinos would leave the winning chip (bet) on the roulette table. So someone betting 25 dollars on a number and winning 875 dollars (which is a big hit in my view) would default to repeating this bet on the next spin. Why so? And why the behavior is reversed in slots games? :)

If I hit a monster win 1k x bet then I would spin the slot 10 or 11 times more then switch slots. I haven't had a win like that since last summer. Anyway I know all about randomness and all that but gamblers superstition has me switching slots.
I dunno sometimes you get the vibe that a slot is going to go on a dead patch and then I will decamp to another slot as well.

Its not reversed - this tradition only last for one spin of the roullete wheel, similar to one spin of the slot that other posters have mentioned.

I agree. But B&M roulette players won't typically switch tables after that last spin. So traditions differ and they are indeed based on feelings and superstitions, like other posters noted here. Playing without any superstitions would not be fun at all, I guess.

Just pure luck imo, I remember in November hitting a 4 reel wild desire for £1500 from a 60p spin, less than 100 spins later I hit 5 bonus symbols for an extra £120.

Although it is totally random luck, after a big win I generally think I've "used up all my good luck" and move on to a different slot.
I will generally go back to the same slot the next day, or at a different casino on the same day.

A couple of exceptions though: After getting the 100 spins @ x10 on Arctic Adventure about a year ago, I've hardly played it again at all. And the same with DoA after getting the 5 wilds (NOT on a win-line) during free-spins.
