Yep. I had that damned awful dry cough that was making me gag just before new year. Woke up a couple of mornings in a dry cough fit, gasping for air. Wasn't pleasant.

I have seen a number of reports from people on the cruise ships who tested positive but were fine. Admittedly, they were younger than the normal demographic that goes cruising but they said they had no symptoms at all.
Makes you wonder how many people walking round spreading it not realising they have it.

You can test positive before the main illness symptoms start. The WHO have said not many people remain asymptomatic.
For the first 5 days symptoms should be mild. It's after that the issues can arise where the virus effectively destroys your lungs.

My mother is trying to change her cruise as it passes some part of Italy, cost a fortune. She’s been referred to some ‘new department’
Just awaiting a call back, it’ll cost a fortune to change as she was due to sail April and wants to change to August... I reckon she would be ok, but she won’t risk it the wuss.
reason being she smokes and drinks and refuses to be stuck ‘In a silly cabin with a porthole, no fags or wine’ her words not mine..

It's not in time for the current "wave" but it's expected this particular corona virus will be coming back in yearly waves like the flu, eventually mutating to a regular cold virus. So if there is a vaccine before the next wave is expected there'll be many more people protected except those that have been through the illness.

Mainland China had 19 new coronavirus infections on Monday, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday, down from 40 a day earlier. It also marked the third straight day of no new locally transmitted coronavirus cases outside of Hubei.
Which could suggest to me that there is immunity once you have had it.
Scientist today say that you get CoVid-19 symptoms within the first 5 days of catching it and fever, cough and breathlessness are found in 97% of cases.

Yes, there is immunity after you've had any specific virus usually. If there wasn't, vaccines would be pointless.

There was a virologist professor who teaches in Cambridge on radio ulster yesterday he didn’t describe it as a bad flu but liking to a bad cold and won’t have any serious effects on 98% of those who get the virus.
The problem being is 24 hour news and social media as for the Italians I suspect their issues is down to their ageing population and the way they naturally greet each other with hugs and kisses yet we ain’t seeing this reported.

Dont underestimate the danger,just because it hasnt really taken hold in the UK doesnt mean we will
escape it,we also have an aging population and I have a wife who is almost certain to die if she
contracts it.
I suppose its only natural that the age of people is going to influence their views on the danger,
younger people will probably just shrug it off if they contract it.

In 1998 I was ill for 6 months after flu so I would like to know if those that have recovered are totally well again with no other effects like depression or other symptoms after a virus.

Same here, I have a history of asthma and regular bronchitis when I was a kid. I've spent more time in hospital waiting rooms than in a classroom from age 5-12...
