Hey Colin

So this gets more messy unnecessarily...

I just asked VideoSlots why on earth they think the spammer is a "Business Partner" of mine, because it couldn't be further from the truth. They put it down to a "miscommunication" internally between the person I am in contact with and Dan. I never claimed the spammer to be a business partner of mine... neither to you nor to VideoSlots. He is not. My business partner is sat thousands of miles away in Washington DC and wouldn't know his arse from his elbow when it comes to affiliate marketing... of any kind!

A screen shot of your opt in (with sensitive data scrubbed out) got shared with me from the culprit, presumably because I kicked up an almighty stink and leveled some threats over being wrongly implicated in this mess. I honestly didn't look at it closely, because frankly it has nothing to do with me. My concern is strictly with having my brand and domain name linked to all this.

I didn't spam you... whoever did is not my business partner... my brand got used without my permission... and I am just as much a victim here as you are.

Anyway, I've said my piece and I can't spend any more time worrying about this situation. I hope this is now resolved satisfactorily.

Cheers

Prash

ok, fair enough, from my point of view I got spam email with your logo on, then told by the casino the spam came from your business partner. You can see why someone might think you were involved.

So now it comes down to what videoslots are going to do about the spam. Clearly the spammer has used content from you without your permission, that in itself should be a massive red flag to them, and if i did that I would expect my affiliate account to be closed immediately.

Secondly, and to Dan, the 'opt in' data was clearly from a casino back end, showing I opted in to marketing. Now to me that means emails from the casino direct for bonuses etc, NOT passing my details to a third party to allow me to be spammed about other casinos. Without knowing where exactly this opt in data came from, showing some screenshots should not be proof I opted into anything. I can easily do something similar in photoshop, screenshot it and send it to you showing you opted into my mailing list, doesn't mean its true. You should be insisting the affiliate gives you the full info, ie, where the data was obtained. If it is the casino I think it is (which is an accredited one) then a quick look through the t&c's would show if they are allowed to do this. If they are fair enough (but i will be closing my account with them), if they aren't then it is spam and the affiliate should be closed down immediately. Giving the personal details to a third party that he has is completely out of order. It wasn't just an email address, the screenshots show my full sign up data.
