Hi Folks

I was thinking of switching from $ to currency on RTG as I love RTG software for playing blackjack and wanted to check with you folk who have played there, would you recommend Cirrus UK casino()? what problems have you had with them? thanks for any info, also is there any other currency RTG casinos out there at the moment? take care and be lucky

Welcome to the forum. I hope you stick around - this is the BEST forum on the net!

My advice (for what it's worth) is, that unless you are just playing for fun only, with no ambition to try to make a profit, do not touch ANY RTG casino with a very long barge pole!!!
My personal opinion is that RTG software is cleverly rigged to ensure you do not win. That combined with (I think) all of them having sticky (useless) bonuses, makes them all a complete waste of space!

Thanks for you advice I seem to do ok on RTG and your not the first that I've read that some RTG casino are a bit on the doggy side, just on another forum I read that Cirrus were a bit slow in pay outs and a bit vague or changed the % of cashable bonus, though generally I play the opposite from most people, I use a progression that I got off the net, ( don't even go there about why Progression Systems Don't Work, At Old / Expired Link at the top of the page it says "Card counting can give you an edge. Progressions do not give you an edge " click on the word " Progressions " that'll take you to a page that explains why Progression Systems Don't Work ) I've heard all that, and I do NOT use bonus money, I find your are playing right in their hands with the ROR up a against you when they give you BIG play through to get through, making you use up the bonus noney and your own money , but I scrape it in slowly just using my own buy in usually $100, with small play throughs, with drawing often in small $200 drops I don't get greedy if I double my money I'm happy ok this might take me 2/3 night, but I'm just playing in units of $1-$2-$3-$4, take care and be lucky

you know, after the recent rtg 'software updates', i'm beginning to have doubts like you. i got slaughtered the past few weeks on rtg sites, especially at blackjack.

think i'll stick with mgaming, con, and cryptos from now on. which is a real shame b/c i LOVE rtg's graphics, fast gameplay, cashier, few annoying sounds etc...

And welcome to the forum.

There is a lot of interesting information about whether or not Cirrus = Virtual and exactly how roguish they are. I have had first hand experience with all of them, and am always keeping my eye on these guys (which they are fully aware).

Now about the relationship between Cirrus and Virtual (seems that this thread is spinning into this direction). This is from Virtual's general manager, (who I have meet several times) and confirmed with the owner (whom I've meet once). The owners of Prism and Cirrus are friends of Virtual's owner and he helped them get started. That's why all of the commonality. At first they worked closely together, and as soon as they were comfortable - they moved on.

Other people have confirmed that at one time Cirrus', Prism's, and Virtual's managers worked out of the same office, but they have moved on. Whether or not this makes a difference, that's up to you.

As you are probably finding out, this is a convoluted and strange industry. And not to shamlessly plug the casinos that are listed here, you won't find yourself in dire straits if you stick to them.

Some of these lists are way outdated (I know, I think I produced them a while back ). Also, Gamblerslodge hasn't been updated for years, and Joel Mikkelson collected most of his information from me. And that thread of Schwankart's from WOL has already been pretty much hashed out already, including from this end. If Schwankart wants to start a public thread on this over here, he's welcome to.

I get the impression that the Cirrus UK casino and the $ Cirrus com casino are run by a different management team, all be it they operate under the same name of Cirrus, with the $ Cirrus com casino geting the bad feed back but the Cirrus UK casino other that being a bit slow on the pay out's, they seem to be doing ok, from what I've read here and on other forums , its also very hard to judge when you hear many people losing and they start bawling and shouting, when may be because its just the way they are playing, they've started to deviate from bs, the progression they are using just stops working and hits the normal long losing cycle just like you would at a land based casino when you come up against the dealer from HELL! :icon_evil, though some times you feel like asking the dealer excuse me is your sofware working? tell me just how the hell did you shuffles those last card? your killing me here! its customer support help and the withdrawal time that you can really judge a casino by, take care and be lucky

I would rate software and games above either of those, since failing them you won't be withdrawing anything.

Regarding the suggestion to "not touch RTG with a bargepole": I can vouch for RTG VP, of which I've got at least a 1/4 million hands under my belt. A little short on Royals but not by much. I've got the same and more for table games, and I can't complain too much about them, either. Whether or not they "fix it so the progression loses" I don't know, but I wouldn't anyway since I don't play progressions - I leave that stuff for the real experts.
