What about the Z number of players who are thinking "I like the look of Redbet, but they don't yet support my usual gaming currency, I'll wait".

This is logical from a players' point of view. Play in a different currency than your deposit method and you are hit with all manner of fees and charges, some due to fluctuating exchange rates, and others down to "skimming" something for themselves by the banks and wallets simply for making the exchange. You lose both ways too, as you get skimmed a second time if you withdraw.

If you DO take the plunge, and later your own currency gets added, you end up kicking yourself because you are stuck with the "wrong" currency on your account simply because you were too impatient to wait for yours to be added.

Where your currency is one that casinos usually support, like the US Dollar and UK Pound for UK players, it is a logical choice to wait.

Operators also have to remember that the eWallets themselves just won't let users have more than one account so as to keep their Euros as Euros and avoid the exchange fees each time where they also use that wallet for their regular play. Only recently have Neteller relaxed that rule, but only for VIPs.

The directors should be looking at the size of the market, and judging FUTURE penetration when deciding whether it was cost effective to add that currency. The Euro is an obvious first choice where the main market is EU countries, but the UK is a significant market, and never adopted the Euro. The US Dollar is used by many players, not just Americans, as it was the original currency used when the industry was young, and many players have set up their wallets in the US Dollar, and whilst it isn't their native currency, is the one they continue to play in.

Almost all of my accounts are in UK Pounds. I have a few in the US Dollar, but only two of these receive regular deposits. It is the additional effect of exchange rates that holds me back from playing in many other old Dollar accounts. Two currencies is a bit complicated, but more recently the industry started to support the Euro, making it three in total. This is where for me "enough is enough", and I have decided not to start making accounts in Euros, but instead stick to the UK Pound as operators always add it in the end if they are intending to stick around.

I could of course use my VIP perks and create another Neteller account, but then I have to pick Dollar and Euro, so even a VIP hits a two currency ceiling. Using my other deposit methods for anything other than the UK pound is "insane". The banks would skim up to 5% each way!

That's exactly what Andy said that he was trying to sell to the rest of the team, but they aren't convinced.

Also, I'd prefer WMS over Betsoft (by a LONG shot) but I understand his point.

Well, to be frank, I'd very likely choose RedBet OVER Nordic. BUT for them not having a compatible currency they lose those deposits and from a fair few I'd wager.

They may scupper their chances altogether, as their competitors will take those players who need other currencies, and these multi platform providers are launching thick and fast, so there are plenty of alternatives.

If the board don't think adding the UK Pound is worth it, they may also consider it not worth applying for a UK license from 2015, which could mean UK players getting shut out altogether, and this may well be up to the deposit methods (Skrill, etc) if not Redbet themselves.

I believe it was exactly two years since I signed up at your casino. All that time I have been waiting for you to add USD.
Guess how many deposits I've made? Maybe five or six
Guess how many hundreds I've made at Nordicbet...or is it thousands? It's many!

Especially now when there have been changes at Nordicbet I would have liked to have another casino to play at, that I trusted. Instead none will get any deposits from me.
You might should show this threads to the people you are working with and ask them to speed up what is important to us, not just what they think is important

I enjoyed my play at Redbet and of course having such a fantastic rep as Andy around makes one confident to play there.

However, I got hammered because I had to play in euros, Neteller's exchange rates never seemed generous and they rooked me both on deposits and withdrawals with FX fees, and the amount going in never seemed to match the same amount coming out, if that makes sense. i.e. €200 going in seemed to cost me more in pounds, than €200 coming out converted into pounds. (And that was on top of the 1.75% fee I always have to pay to fund my Neteller account with my gaming card anyway, plus I pay £3 per £500 on withdrawals with my NET+ card.)

From where I'm standing Redbet could do with:

a) Getting their currencies sorted out.

and

b) Taking a look at their games portfolio. I think MG's offerings are pretty weak these days, and Netent's output hasn't exactly been inspiring of late either. Personally I think the Vegas slots (WMS, Konami, and I'm sure there are more out there) are going to prove extremely popular online, I've been playing the WMS slots almost exclusively for months now.

I agree with you. Both MG and Netent need to go back to the drawing board as far as I'm concerned. All similar variance slots that don't even look like slots anymore. They obviously try to turn video slots into some kind of video games with lots of animations and other useless crap. I'm not sure who they are targetting with that, but they sure as hell ain't targetting me. That newer "egg" Netent slot represents everything that is wrong with newer video slots.

Personally I think the Vegas slots (WMS, Konami, and I'm sure there are more out there) are going to prove extremely popular online

As long as they let people play them They are still implementing the older generation of these slots, most of the games you play on JPP are 3-5 years old already.

MGS/Netent and others are definitely not on par with the big boys. I wish the online game developers would spend more times on the actual slot play and less time on animations and movies.

Who are the big boys? Netent and MGS are quite large companies in the world of gaming, even compared to the land based providers. Also, it is much more difficult to develop an instant game than a game for a land based casino due to the size of the game file that will allow everyone to play the game at a good performance level.

I tend to agree with you and the releases from these providers have been quite mundane in the past months and sometimes it feels like the same 243 line slot is being launched with different pictures month on month. I do know that the game developers for most software providers read the threads at casinomeister a lot so perhaps if you give some examples of slots that you really like, or features you would like to see that would be helpful for them for their future developments.

It's not only demanding in size. Try running the newest MGS games (like Girls with Guns or TFROL) on a basic laptop with integrated graphics and see what happens. After 10 or 15 minutes, the game will lag because the laptop will become hotter than the center of a neutron star.

Yeah Girls With Guns craps out after a while on my media centre PC, (almost turns into a slideshow), but that has a proper discrete graphics card in it with 1GB of RAM (albeit a low-end passively cooled Radeon 6450).

Thing is, that PC is capable of running World of Warcraft at medium detail settings for hours on end at a decent framerate, so I refuse to believe that an online slot is stressing it to breaking point.

In fact, last time I had Girls With Guns on there, I fired up the Catalyst Control Center and it reported that the GPU was hardly being utilised at all, and its temperature was low - so not sure what the deal is on that one.

I might get MSI Afterburner installed on it, and see what it thinks is going on.

And to bring this back to Redbet D), the point here I think is that a lot of people just aren't that arsed about MG and Netent at the moment, so Redbet could do with getting some other providers on their books. Hopefully the new Rabcat slot is the first of many!

Since I did custom build computer I avoid buying cheap video cards for numerous reason: They are prone to overheat, they are prone to stress out the video card like dropping frame rate too much and poor smoothiness in motion, and cheaper video card are prone to give you poor colours output on your monitor etc. I rather only buy good high end quality that gives me everything I need to get it going.

But of course most people find it unfair that they cannot play some slot if they are basic computer running like that. There is plenty of alternative one like play flash online casino is better option rather than download one that could be more friendly for basic video card to run a bit better than download one. And of course MGS is the worst part that bloat with over 10gb of files for the download one. It best stick to the flash online casino then it only download to temp files thats about it until it is being deleted later. And I find that flash online casino file is a lot smaller.

Funnily enough that's exactly the same spec as my made-to-order desktop except I have a better processor. It does make a fair noise admittedly as it seems to have 3 fans running in it. I've not tried GwG on it yet, but in runs OK on my laptop thus far which only has 4GB RAM and a similar chip to Nate's.

But MG takes the p!ss on disc clutter. I only have 2 casinos installed at a time now, and regularly clear the mgs files and microgaming folder out and start over. The clutter is not just games - you store a graphic and record of every spin you have too.

I have a 128GB SSD as my system drive, SSDs are incredibly fast but also incredibly expensive compared to traditional hard drives. (Not quite so expensive now in all honesty, but they were still very pricey when I got mine.)

As such, space is at a premium on SSDs, the idea is to only put stuff on there that benefits from their speed. Operating system, applications, games, that sort of thing.

I also have a 1TB hard drive in my PC, 2TB on an external hard drive, and then 2TB on a NAS (the 2TB external hard drive and 2TB NAS are mirrors of each other, and in turn they are backups of everything on my 1TB internal hard drive) - this storage is much slower than the SSD but perfectly suited to media, files, casino installs, family photo/video collections, emulators, backups etc - anything that doesn't see any benefit from the speed of an SSD basically. (Battlefied 3 which is one of my favourite games, takes up 30GB on my SSD all by itself.)

As such, the mandatory (hidden) 11GB install that Microgaming takes up with NO CHOICE OF WHERE TO INSTALL IT TO makes a serious dent in my SSD's space, space that I'd much rather be using for games or anything else that actually benefits from being stored on an SSD.

I'm keeping an eye on the prices of SSDs, the 256GB drives are now very affordable but I'm waiting until the 512GB SSDs hit the price sweet spot - and yes, at that point it will become less of an issue how much space an MG install uses - but in the meantime it's a real pain in the ass and the primary reason I don't have 32Red installed on my main PC, but only on the media centre PC (which has a 1TB hard drive in it, far slower than the SSD but perfect for a media centre PC).

I have 2 Fans in it - I can barely hear them though. I use a wireless mouse and KB so it's pretty much my Desktop. I have 3 of them hooked up around the house to HD Screens. My desktop PC is is another room... I abandoned it a while back.

I have a laptop as well but I don't use it. I want to be able to do pretty much anything when I need to...

They sent me an email last week, a sort of 'we haven't seen you for a while so here's a nice bonus match up offer', I was umming and aahhing about it but then saw the 40xB WR and that made my mind up for me.

35xB was tough but it was doable, given that Netent's slots generally roll at 96-97%, but 40xB WR is too harsh for my tastes.

That's the problem. The CPU is rendering all the graphics, so most machines will be underpowered and cause problems with the experience. MGS even specify a certain level of GPU, yet it seems irrelevant.

My new PC has a damn good GPU, the kind of thing found in a high end gaming rig, yet MGS games are almost as bad as before. The GPU is hardly used, but the CPU gets a hammering, topping out at 100% once I reach 6 or 7 simultaneous tabs running in the Slotsmeister (yes, that's how those ridiculous scores happen).

The large 11Gig download is not really a problem for most modern PC's, but what IS a problem is the fact that the user has no choice about where to put it. With an SSD, you don't really want to clutter it up with "data". This would be better off being stored on a traditional drive, which in SSD based systems would usually be the D: drive. The only positive side is that MGS casino games load much faster on my new SSD based system than on the old one, however the bugs are still there, and it has nothing to do with my PC. Now, the gaming and update servers, along with the lobby page server, are what holds back the speed of loading. Because of this, there is not much point having the cache on the SSD for faster loading.

I am also concerned about the effect constant and unnecessary updating has on the SSD, an activity that wears them out and is not how the manufacturer suggests they are used. SSDs should be used for booting into the OS, and frequently used programs that are always going to be loaded at boot time or during a session. Such programs get updated, but not needlessly several times a month, only when there really is a new version of a component.

What puts me off browser based games is their reliance on a high bandwidth steady connection, a luxury at peak times here in the UK.

The MG Viper client is increasingly looking (and performing) like something that's dropped through a timewarp, MG need to rebuild the lumpen piece of crap from the ground up IMO.

Part of the reason I tend to stick to older MG slots when I do play the software is that they all run nicely

I had a really tawdry experience on that slot at Unibet, it's one of those bizarre slots that seems to be capable of consistently taking your money without ever paying anything substantial back - whilst still appearing to stick loosely to RTP.

The base game pays are truly bizarre (the top paying 5OAK pays 400x, the one below that pays 10x (!?!?!)), the extra cash bonus game (triggered with the three characters) can take forever to come in and then pay like 15x stake, the wheel of wealth bonus game is the most transparently weighted abomination I've ever seen (yes I know it doesn't say it's a fair wheel but if 3Dice can manage it with their single line slots I don't see why Sheriff can't here), and the free spins round appears to have potential but I never saw it realised.

Bankroll death by a thousand cuts this slot is, will never play again.

I wish Redbet would get the WMS slots on their books, they're pretty much all I've played in anger since last December now (with the occasional visit to 3Dice for their unique slots and 32Red for MG, and then a blast here and there on the other stuff at Unibet). Even if I do fancy a little Netent dabble I've usually got a balance in Unibet anyway so can play the Netent slots there, plus of course there's the whole Euro conversion shenanigans at Redbet which costs me money on both deposits and withdrawals.

I'd like to play more at Redbet, not least because Andy is such a great rep, but (1) Game selection and (2) Forced to play in Euros keep me away for now.

I see more games are coming online in Casino Blue now, but it's still a pretty limited selection compared to Unibet.
