Bitcoin deposits and poker in the USA - Worth it?

Yes, I understand that...I was asking, because I don't have utilities in my name. I have other ID that proves I live where I say I do, (a recent USPS change of address verification mailed to me). Will they accept that? If not, what documents will they take?

PS: There's many cases where people don't have a utility bill in their name. 2 examples are: 1) When utilities are included in rent 2) when you live with someone, and they pay the utility bill

Hi I just asked our cash out department, and indeed you can send a bank statement (blacking out the charges and etc and leaving only your name and address) also, some states include the address on the drivers license, you can use that provided it matches the address on your poker account.

As far as I can tell, you are not the rep for this company. Please do not solicit for player information on this website without going through the proper channels to become listed as a rep.

To begin with, you need to register your forum account with an email connected to your business. You need to forward this to me as soon as possible.

Further, bitcoins opens a big can of worms if the proper KYC screenings aren't being done. Being anonymous is not always a good thing - especially with gambling.

Hello,

we have changed the email address listed on the forum's account to an email connected to our company (@americascardroom.eu) This way you know we are an official ACR Rep.

Casinomeister, can you please confirm this info?

thank you

Awesome! Thanks much.....

I still haven't updated my drivers license, as I just moved last month....But my bank statement (albeit in electronic format) will show my current address.

Sounds like a plan, see you at the tables!

Yeah dude they worth it, but you need a good partner who charge less for bitcoin to dollar conversion. I actually found one on another forum, I think its on http://crapmeister.com and he has been handling the conversion for me with a lot less fee.

I see that several USA-friendly poker rooms now offer BTC deposits...Americas Cardroom, Black Chip Poker, Full Flush Poker, etc.

Is it really worth it? Does anyone have experience with this method of depositing that has withdrawn afterwards? If so, did they require you to cash out via BTC? I know the market could tank at any given time, and one takes the risk of cashing out worthless virtual currency. I still remember last year when BTC was at its peak of ~$1k/BTC....now it's worth almost 75% less than that...lol

Thanks for any input

BTC is back over $1,000 a coin ;)

Most sites require withdrawals to be in the form that your deposits were in, at least up until the point that you've withdrawn as much as you've deposited, and then said sites tend to open up other methods. I find that poker sites are less lax on this with regard to bitcoin. The sites themselves are typically indemnified when dealing with bitcoin and often immediately have any btc deposits converted into fiat, typically USD or Euro (depending on the site).

If you deposited 1k of btc to any site, and btc doubled or halved in value while you were playing on the poker site in fiat, when you went to withdraw, you'd get an appropriate amount of BTC at current prices relative to that fiat. So it doesn't matter what bitcoin prices do on most sites, as you're not gambling twice (once with currency, and once with bitcoin).

Bitcoin and poker

In reply ACR host...if bitcoin deposits are nearly instant why aren't the withdrawals instant as well?

Would be nice.

The answer to this is simple. Fraud prevention. Before funds leave the site, especially poker funds, at least a cursory check should be done to make sure there was no collusion, chip dumping, or other untoward behavior. The security department should be performing other perfunctory checks such as IP address and geolocation match ups, looking at any player to player transfers, etc. And lastly, most sites practice what is known as AML checks, i.e. Anti-Money Laundering screening. Sites that don't perform AML checks are not only ripe for fraudulent transactions, but face grave legal implications. Not to mention possibly being locked out of the SWIFT system, having bank accounts closed, etc.
