I'm going to wade in here with my 2c worth and if you listen carefully you will be able to hear me SCREAM!
The amount of doubt and disbelief which newbie posters are subjected to never fails to astonish me. In this instance Jazriel is being criticised for posting a positive encounter with a casino, and for never 'having never strung a paragraph together here previously - it is very suspicious....'. Excuse me, but where does it say in the rules that a first time poster is only allowed to add lame comments (with apologies to Littlebit
) to other people's posts, before beginning their own thread?
And what exactly is meant by a 'more balanced review'? Could we have that rule applied immediately to the Casino Complaints section, please? Initial posts there are not balanced (the word 'Complaints' says it all!
) but they reflect the poster's experiences, and as such are very valid. Ditto Jazriel's post.
When I first joined this forum, one of the first things I noticed was how newbies got a hammering from some of the established posters who seem to feel they own this forum. And this is not just my imagination - take the time to go back over some of the posts and you can see this disburbing trend quite clearly.
If CasinoMeister Land is to continue to be held in high regard in the gaming community, then I suggest you extend that same regard to newbies who are trying to share their experiences, rather than mock them and shoot them down. Give them the benefit of the doubt. And who know, they may also turn into valued contributors. At the moment, with some of the attitudes shown in this thread, you run the risk of losing them completely.
And here endeth the lesson!.
