When Slotmonster asked me to try out the games, I kept getting "unsupported browser" issues. I had everything updated, and am running XP and IE 8. At the time, no cause for this could be found, and Slotmonster assured me the site should work fine with XP and IE 8.

More recently, and down to a completely different issue unrelated to casinos, I might have found the problem. It's pretty obscure, and is documented as a "corrupt user agent string" by Microsoft. It is caused by badly coded browser plug-ins, and other installed software that adds it's abilities to this string.

The user agent string is sent to websites in order to inform them of the abilities the viewer can support. Unfortunately, there are two types of corruption. One is that the string exceeds 256 characters, but is not actually corrupt, and the other is that plug-ins have misused it by adding a duplicate or invalid entry.

Fixing the problem involves editing the registry, but Microsoft have provided a "fix tool" that will rewrite the registry entries and remove the corruption. There is also a diagnostic tool to determine whether the problem exists. Having applied this fix, BigCasino no longer produces this "unsupported browser" error message.

This appears to be the solution to the problem.

The suggestion is that since this is a common problem, the website should be updated with a tool that can read user agent strings that are longer than 256 characters, and can tell when it is merely duplicate entries that make the browser appear to be something other than it is. Microsoft have addressed this issue with Windows 7 and IE9 by limiting what third party software can do with the user agent string. With IE9, although the software will still write it's own entries to the registry, IE9 will NOT send them in the user agent string, thus only a "clean" user agent string will be seen by the website, regardless of how "dirty" the coding is in any software or browser plug-ins.

Reinstalling IE alone does NOT solve this problem, the registry has to be cleaned up too. Even Advanced System Care fails to spot a bad user agent string configuration in it's registry check, hence I never managed to fix the problem by running this and other tools.

Although fixed now, I expect the problem will reoccur in the future, as other "dirty" coding afflicts these entries.

Wow, looks cool on iPad(fun mode). But why there is no sound?

Congrats Victar, I know you'll do really well! Since I'm not in the UK I can't play your casino for real (pout) but I did play a couple of the games for fun and quite liked them - my one criticism is that I find the 'win' sounds really irritating. I did find out how to turn them off, but it's nice to have some sounds when you win - I just don't like the ones you have, they make me feel like I've gone back in time to when midi was cool. But that's just me. :)

This is a great casino, and deservedly now in the accredited section.

Withdrawls are quick, games are fun, what more do you want - Viktar excels in looking after customers as well.

Anyone who is able to should try here, especially if you fancy something new.

Pmsl, this reminds me of my days managing a local football team, two of my players came on holiday with my gf at the time and me (damn she was pissed lol, but hell, one was the top striker for the season), on the plane back she was growling badly and stated `You think more of football than me`, to which I replied `Hunny i`ll always love you a whole heap more than I love cricket`, and that was that lol.

Back to topic, good luck with this Viktar and Big Casino, i`m sure you guys will do very well indeed

You offer some generous looking first and second deposit bonuses, and a big VIP bonus.

However, you have a ridiculous maximum bet rule, which isn't even a percentage of your deposit. If for example one was to receive the full £500 VIP bonus by depositing £2000, you would still only be allowed to play maximum £10/hand or spin. Now maybe £10/spin for slots is big enough for most players (though its probably going to be frustratingly low for genuine high rollers) but the prospect of £10/hand of Blackjack or spin of roulette when you have a £2500 balance is almost too achingly dull to imagine (not to mention that the wagering requirement if those were your games of choice would be £750,000).

You need to make your mind up- do you want VIP/highroller players or not? If you do, then you really shouldn't be insulting them with terms like that.

Thank you for your input, elscrabinda

I would not say that our terms are ridiculous. For example, 32Red Casino has "6.25 bet max" rule for those who are playing with bonus.

As soon as you are playing without bonuses in BigCasino, you are allowed to make any bets (within set limits).

However, I wanted to make few corrections.

1) For the full VIP (500 GBP) bonus WR are 30xBonus, giving us only 15.000 in wagering on Slots, but with all games allowed. On BJ Switch with 10% contribution players will need to wager 150.000 GBP.

2) As for Slots, now the max possible bet is up to 5 GBP / spin.

3) It is also said in Terms, that if you consider higher bets, please, contact our Support and request a chat with Manager.

Players wishing to place higher bets may contact support at any time to discuss their needs.

Regards,
Viktar.

It IS ridiculous, and saying that another casino is even more so doesn't negate this. I suspect anyway that once you are in Club Rouge the terms are more sensible anyway and that they don't treat their high rollers like children. They wouldn't be in the position they are today if they did. By the way, I have criticised them in the past for exactly this term as well.

I'm always confused when the crazy/contradictory/punitive/counterintuitive/petty terms of bonuses are pointed out to casino reps, their response is "if you don't want them, don't play with them". This to me seems like a bizarre use of what is presumably a useful promotional tool. Bonuses should be a way of attracting/rewarding players but if you structure them so that they are a way of punishing players and that the only sensible approach for most players is to opt out of them then they are surely defeating the point. I appreciate the danger to a casino of being exploited by bonus hunters/abusers, but there has to be a better way of doing it than limiting 'VIP' players to 0.4% of their bankroll per hand

Agreed. Sorry if it sounded like "even reputable casinos do such things, so we did it as well". We lost pretty much money because of players who were registering, making deposits, and then betting the whole bankroll in one Roulette spin or Blackjack hand. Of course, few of them lost, but in almost 50/50 like games Roulette and Blackjack most of those who lost their 1st deposits, won at 2nd and 3rd, then just cleared WR at slots and withdrew. Of course, they never got back.

We do not blame players for HOW they play, or what strategies they use. We just decided to limit their bets to avoid situation like described above in the future, and that's where we stand now.

Could you please shed some light on "Club Rouge"?

We give players free money. All we are asking for it is just to follow our rules while playing with it. If you can suggest something you think will be better variant - I'm open for discussion.

As for VIPs - as I said: just contact our Support, and I'm sure we can discuss anything. That's what we usually do.

Hope I informed you well.

Cheers,
Viktar.
