Beware of William Hill

William Hill have just denied me access to my account and taken my money. I phoned customer services and was told to expect a call back. I got none. I phoned again and the guy hung up on me. I finally spoke to Dorothy, and she said my account was permanently suspended. No I could not have my money, but they had not, obviously, stolen it. It would stay there for all eternity. I cannot check to see if this is true but it must be. A casino wouldnt keep someones money would they. Its only 40 dollars but it is irritating nonetheless.
I asked for reasons, but was told that " William Hill reserve the right to suspend permanently any account where they suspect that there has been bonus abuse, and to withold all funds including deposits" .
The nice lady did say that if I payed them back the sum of 170 dollars of bonus that I had received then I could have my 40 dollars back and my account opened. They will not give reasons. Has anyone else had this experience?

BE WARNED THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT NEEDING TO GIVE A REASON.
 
Sounds like they think you've claimed their monthly bonus from more than one account. If they are mistaken you can ask the Meister to talk to them. However, if they are right you should let this go and move on.....
 
More or less the same has happened to me.
Signed up and played at WillHill casino some months back...lost my deposit and bonus.
Have not logged into my account since then until yesterday and got a message that my account had been locked and I was told to call CS.
 
I have only claimed a bonus on my own account. The money that is suspended is my own. Not Will Hills. Its only 40 dollars, I only want people to know the risks involved with Will Hill. They can and do close accounts with player money in them. If you agree to the terms and conditions they can do this. My advice to anyone playing this casino would be to never leave any money in their account. It is not 100% secure.

once again another Casino just does what it wants to when it wants to. Online casinos have way to much power. I'm telling you reading all these horror stories and now having two happen to me has really made me consider just not playing at all at these "online casinos" anymore. :(

I feel your pain and even though it's only 40 it's your money and they have no right to take it. I'm sure the Casinomeister will get it back for you as long as you weren't scamming them. :thumbsup:

hi there, billy hill might be the worst company on the net when it comes to CS, but i can assure you that they are not thieves and they will not have done this without good reason, if you have opened up multiple accounts, then kiss your money goodbye, but if this $170 worth of bonuses is on one account then what has happened to you is out of order .

anyway i'm ex staff staff at the said company, so if you want to PM your details to me i will try and sort out your prob.

I only have one account. I only claim the $40 for $40 match bonus. They will not enter further discussions. I do not trust 99% of casinos and their associates. I accept the removal of bonuses from accounts, until they are cleared, the money is the casinos. Once wagering is completed the money is no longer the casinos. Withdrawal limit is usually the amount of money that can be withdrawn. I had 40 withdrawable. But as my account is permanently suspended, it is not accessible. I appreciate your offer but I will not give my details to anyone. William Hill have my details and I got no answers from them. If they can give me a satisfactory reason for their actions then I will have no choice but to accept their decision. I will not accept an answer of "We dont have to give a reason for suspending accounts, our decision is final." I still recommend not leaving any money in William Hill, I only left money in there to play with on days when neteller was down. I regret that.
 
I - for one - would vouch for William Hill.

I've played there monthly for about a year, literally just playing enough to clear WR. I usually average about $100 in net winnings, although there have been times when I've lost my entire stake.

William Hill has always been prompt in payment, and has never begrudged me any bonus or winnings. Their CS leaves a LOT to be desired in terms of accessibility (esp. from the States), but I have been impressed with everything else.
 
I thought so too. I won overall around $400 from the casino, on various visits
So even with the 40 "suspended" I would say that my account was not profitable for them. I think that 40 is the only 40 I lost there. Casinos want people who will lose overall over a long period of time. If I were you I would withdraw every month that you have money left. to give them their dues the banking system is the best in the business. Dont be too lucky though, they dont like it.
 
I dont think getting a busy man involved in reclaiming 40 is reasonable. Warning people of William Hills customer service is. Ive complained directly to william Hill and have suggested that they return my deposit and close my account - no joy. I would even be prepared to take it as a free sports bet, but I doubt they would want that as I could win. The bottom line is theyve given me the option of paying them the 170 i withdrew a couple of months back in order to have my account reactivated. Even if I did that how could I be sure that they would not take that too. They can, and they dont have to give any reasons. If you see the other Will Hill thread it is apparent that they are not too bothered about their good name. They are a massive sportsbetting operation, they can do whatever they want effectively

Actually, I totally disagree.

William Hill generally is known for its integrity - with the usual caveats about its customer service. If its practices are as you say, then it would definitely be considered rogue.

And the best way to bring the Meister's attention accordingly is to get the Meister's attention.

hi sillybilly i understand your position regarding your details, the best i can suggest is that you contact their normal CS (i.e. the one they use for shop betting, you can find the number on the back of any of their betting slips)

no doubt when you phone up, you will be given the "you need to ring up our internet divsion, as we dont deal with those enquiries", but just explain to them that you were told "We dont have to give a reason for suspending accounts, our decision is final." and that you insist on being told the reason.

because it is quite unacceptable for them to say that, and the guys on the phone in this department are very much on the ball as i have found many times myself for saying things much less worse than what you have had said to you.
 
For the sake of balance, thought I'd give my experience this afternoon of William Hill support.

After busting out on June's 25 match, I still had 332 of wagering requirements to fulfill if I didn't want the total added onto next month's promo. I didn't, so deposited 60. However, a 50 bonus was added to my account, together with an extra 1250 of wagering.

After making just over 400 of wagers (thus clearing the original turn requirement), I decided to query the bonus and ring customer services. Nothing on the web site suggested there was an extra 50 promo going on for existing players. I said there must have been an error, and asked them to withdraw the bonus amount from my account.

The lady I spoke to on their freephone number checked it out, then told me she'd refer it to the relevant department and get back to me in about an hour's time.

In less than 60 minutes I had an emailed reply and answer. Apparently a technical fault meant the system had read my account as a new one, and automatically given me the new player bonus. Once a bonus is given, it can't be withdrawn from a player's account. So they were letting me keep the bonus. Additionally, they reduced the wagering requirements down to 500 (when I'd stopped wagering to call customer services it stood at over 1,100).

Have to say I was impressed by both the speed with which William Hill answered, and the generosity in reducing the wagering requirements.
 
How are you guys calling them? I am located in the US and just need to ask them something very minor, but I can't get through. The email system errors when I try to use it.

... but I have tried every permutation of it as far as putting a 1 in front or whatever, and still can't get it to work. Granted, I am not too familiar with internatinal dialing, if there are other codes I'm supposed to apply I don't know what they are.

Don't these people have a normal email? (ie... joeblow@aol.com)

The phone No. you quote is a free-phone - I don't think that will work from outside the UK.

I can't find a 'normal' e-mail address anywhere! :confused:

PS: Will Hill is my No.2 casino! (Would be No.1 if their monthly bonus was a bit higher! :D )
