BetMGM UK, how long does verification take?

Hello Everyone, I’m new here but to offer a bit of background. I’ve had an account with Sky for a number of years and I’ve recently opened (June 2024) an account on BetMGM UK after seeing all their adverts on the tv.

I don’t gamble massive amounts and stick to lower stake slots i.e 20p-50p stakes. I tend to stick to similar games and providers and I only tend to deposit £20 or so a week if that.

Anyway, I was recently (18/07/2024) playing a no limit city game that I’m quite fond of. The base stake being 20p but I had the little button clicked on that raises the stake to 50p with a ‘better’ chance of getting a bonus feature. I landed the bonus after around 30 spins and I ended up with a max win on this (65000x) so won £13,000. I immediately requested a withdrawal of £8k which was the card limit and then another for £3500 leaving £500 in my account.

I have received no update from the casino in relation to my win, and my withdrawal still remains pending. My account is ‘verified’ and I’ve not had any documentation requests from themselves. When I’ve contacted live chat just to see if there’s any delays and what reason there may be for these, I’ve been told it’s with the relevant department and that they’ll be in touch with an update shortly. I appreciate that the big wins require verification etc but how long does this usually take?

I hope all this makes sense. Thank you in advance.

Welcome and congrats on your win, That max win you had sounds like it was a No Limit City slot.

About BetMGM UK, I never played their or created an account so I am not sure how long they take to approve documents. I am sure they would be pretty fast. I have also heard and read that withdrawals are not quick in some cases upto 3 days for them to process them. That alone put me of even creating an account with them.

I am sure other members will be able to shed light on this who play their though.

I am sure you will get paid as soon as your docs have been approved as long as you did not break any rules etc. (If you took a bonus for example). If it was a raw deposit than I do not see what you could have done wrong so I am sure you will be fine.

BetMGM UK is run by LeoVegas - so a known quantity in that regard.

The size of the withdrawal will trigger some internal verification checks, as well as Customer Due Diligence (an AML requirement above ~£1800). They will ask for any additional identity documentation required, and (being a low-roller) hopefully that doesn't extend to source of funds shenanigans - but sadly some casinos can be weird in that regard.

Additionally, they have the right to do a game integrity check - which may take the provider (NLC in this case) a few business days to respond to.

Once all three are completed, then they can process the withdrawal - so understandably it will be slower than a standard withdrawal (e.g. 3-7 days rather than up to 24 hours), but hopefully it won't be too much longer and you can enjoy the winnings!

Thank you for the replies both, I’ve not long finished work and my withdrawal has been processed and is in my account 🙌🏻🙌🏻 I thought they were trying to give me a bit of a run around to be honest, especially after reading some reviews but considering it’s been the weekend that wasn’t too long of a process actually.

Fantastic news!

It's understandable that people get a little antsy when significant numbers are in play - but people have to remember that the same is true for the operator as well, as part of their risk management processes.

So a £50 withdrawal - which can be automatically approved and processed in minutes - isn't going to follow the same path as a £5000+ one which requires manual approval during office hours, a CDD review and potentially game integrity checks.

After all, if a casino automatically approved every withdrawal - they'd go bust the first time they had an exploit. Ask the casino that had slots malfunction where it forgot to deduct cash stakes but credited cash winnings - an expensive evening for them! 🥶

Congratulations. I have an MGM account slowly building, now £400. So I'm really interested in how your withdrawal pans out.

Hi, so I received the withdrawal 3 days later on the Monday after requesting withdrawal on the Friday which I thought was quite quick considering it was the weekend. I think it was a mixture of reading bad reviews online and me being impatient that got my back up a little but I must admit they were quick and helpful.

That's really quick considering the amount of money. It gives me confidence when the time comes for my much more modest withdrawal that all will work OK.
