Hi chaps, I made a small win with slotboss and I made a withdrawal ... I have now received an email asking for loads of details ... I have NEVER been asked for any of this from any other provider ... what gives please ... her's a paste of the amount of detail they are after:

Please provide all of the following information so that we can process your withdrawal request:

A photocopy, scan or photograph of your passport or drivers licence to verify your date of birth

A photocopy, scan or photograph of the entire front of all cards you have registered and used on your account. Please show just the name, last 4 digits and expiry date, the preceding numbers can be obscured. If the card is not in your name then we also require written authorisation from the card holder confirming that they are happy for the card to be used.

A photocopy, scan or photograph of a utility bill or statement dated within the last 3 months showing your address and date clearly

In the absence of a driving licence or passport, we would accept a nhs health card as proof of name, address and date of birth.

If you are withdrawing via bank transfer (BACS), a screen shot, or photocopy, scan or photograph of your bank statement relating to the account that you are withdrawing to. Any confidential transaction and balance information can be obscured, showing just your name, account number and sort code.

Seems like a pretty standard KYC check.
Most, if not all reputable casino's would ask for the same

Absolutely standard and normal, nothing to worry about.

ADVICE: Scan the front/back of your photo DL, depositing card (use paint to hide the digits 7-12 of the 16-digit number plus the 3-digit security code) and a power bill or cable bill. Put them in a 'docs' folder and update the bill every 12 weeks. Label the folder 'KYC' and then you have them to hand. You WILL be asked for them again and again by different casinos.

I have NEVER EVER been asked these questions before in over 3 years of slots play with more than a dozen sites !

All the sites you mentioned above can and occasionally do ask for the id you were asked for. The reasons they have not asked you are they are all UK casinos and betting sites. All those sites mentioned above should verify the player automatically on signing up so no need to ever ask for id to be sent. I also have never been asked for if from any of them either.

But if you play most sites that are not UK bookies sites and the big UK casinos you will be asked for them. Not sure where exactly slotboss is bases and how their procedures work. But take all the other big popular casinos on here like GUTS BETAT MRGREEN CASINOLUCK etc. they will all ask all players for the ID you mentioned and ive had to supply ID to them as well.

By law casinos have to ask for KYC from all players. Like I said the UK bookies don't normally ask UK players for documents as the player is verified through bank , address, electoral roles etc. automatically on sign up.

I know it is scary to think about sending your personal information.

I remember I was not that happy when I was asked first time.

You will get used to it soon, if you have plan to keep playing online. And as long as it is a reputable casino, your information is very safe with them. I think most of casinos destroy the files you send after they finish the verification.

I agree - looks like standard requirements for most casinos. I have sent in this info dozens of times!

I'm not endorsing this particular casino though - I don't know anything about them, except there is a MASSIVE thread about them here on the forum: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/slot-boss-casino-any-thoughts.61643/?t=61643

They've definitely upped their game recently, haven't noticed any lag in play for ages now. Also have blueprint games now, I've had some (mostly!) good experiences with Genie Jackpots recently.

Unfortunately Rogertb, it's just standard procedure to send in a whole load of documents. Congrats on your win though!

This is because the norm for UK players at the big names is electronic checks, so the player does not realise they are being verified. It looks extensive and intrusive because they are being helpful and going into detail regarding the requirements, rather than a curt "copy of ID, utility bill, and cards".

However, the fact that all the big names have managed with electronic checks, and this one is still using the "old school" industry methods suggests cost cutting as the electronic checks cost casinos money, whereas asking players for documentation is free for the casino (it might not be free for the player).

They say they will accept an "NHS health card", but this has not been issued for DECADES, a money saving exercise by government. They should have a UK licence, but are probably not overly familiar with Britain as they seem to think an NHS card will suffice for their KYC. I doubt it because it won't show the verification information they want, and if available, would be decades old, probably something from one's childhood.
