Last year we had record snow - winter came early, before the leaves even fell off the trees we got almost 3 feet of snow dumped on us - and it just kept coming. There was so much snow they didn't know where to put it after plowing the streets.
The year before that, we actually tied with some place in Siberia one day as the coldest place on the planet. Fortunately I had surgery that year and missed most of the winter wrapped in my electric blanket in a drug induced haze.
We've been lucky this year, the winter has been pretty mild up until a couple of days ago. Last night it dropped to -41C - which is actually almost the same in Fahrenheit if I remember correctly. The battery in Ray's work van froze to death and my dog is only allowed to go out long enough for a quick trip to the bathroom.
Anyhow it's not unusual, I think it just feels worse because we've had it easy so far this year. I miss Phoenix.

Thank Gawd for electric blankets, no?

. Car sputtered to life after 5 min of trying. Even had it in the garage plugged in. News said skin will freeze in less than 5 min. I don't think my thermostat can go any higher.
