The chance for 5 reels wild would be 1 in 2.555.120.700 since reel 3 has 4/110 stops making the reel wild.

Well, that means you are right since I for some reason only calculated chance to hit exactly 3 scatters.

So 1/160 to trigger the bonus is just like any other slot. I'd have been very surprised if that changed.

I feel the urge to send a long e-mail to MGS as I am a big fan of their slots but this one for me is a no go and will not play it for some time I reckon.
There is a second reelset that only contains 2 scatters on reel 2 (instead of 3) and 4 scatters on reel 5 (instead of 6).
It seems to come into play after a bonus round involving 5-picks (hall of shadows?) - until the next bonus round is hit. Is there a bonus round that effects the spins until next bonusround???
I'm guessing that one of the bonus rounds pays more, and is therefore more difficult to hit.

So the base game reels change in between bonus rounds?
Yes - very minor change though. The only difference I can see is that they removed scatters from reel 2 and 5. I'm guessing its before the final round, but I have not played the game, so i cant be sure. At first I thought it was some very long 300+ spin bonus feature (since reel change normally only occurs in bonus rounds), but I'm guessing thats not the case.
I have always found MG slots to be 100% fair (in freemode anyway), so I'm pretty sure the decrease in probability of hitting the bonus round is exactly = the increase in payout in the bonus round.
In Tomb Raider 2 for example, getting the final (triggering) bonus symbol is basically 5 times less likely than hitting the first. So for the bonus multiplier, they weigh the bet made when hitting the bonus symbols with the (inverse) probability of hitting the symbol. Reminds me, I should check out the TR2 reel layout to see if each reel contains the same number of scatters, or if they change the "weighing" depending on the order in which the bonus symbols are hit.
, still it seems too volatile for me, and its definitely not a winners screenshot as im way down on this

I have sent MGS an e-mail,to their general enquiries address.
Interested to see if they come back to me in regards to the queries I have about this slot.
Also linked this topic in my e-mail so they can read themselves what people think sofar about this slot.![]()

well i dont want a jackpot on it thats just sucking even more money out of the game thanks :?0
i was thinking about what i dislike about this and several of mgs recent releases, and why i still prefer games like IR and BDBA,
the main difference is that both those old games play like a "slot" sure there is a few bells and whistles to IR but they still appear on the slot reels (wild desire), and thats probably my main gripe.
i have no desire to watch merlin pop up twiddle his stick a few times and make my 0.04 win into 0.12, i dont even want him to pop up when ive technically won 0, and randomly award me an x10 win out of blue, what i would have liked is him popping up on the screen and doing something with reels, afterall its supposed to be a slot,
using magic to hold a reel with wild for a spin or number of spins, making wilds spread to other reels, any kind of magic at his disposal but do it with the reels not the win box!!
speed for me is ok on fast, but i would like the ability to skip merlin crappy pays and the middle reel feature crappy pays, i dont want to wait for the reel to expand play the fancy music and pay me 0.12p
similarly, less alarming music for 2OAKS seriously ive won 0.04, theres no need for a fanfare because its the highest paying symbol on a 2OAK - remove 2OAK and make 3OAKS pay more.
the bonus round, most of the picking rounds are over in seconds, and they are capped wins too, so for the actual potentially exciting round that mgs put 2 years of development into (but are basically nothing new compared to previous releases) you can be waiting a long time,
the grand finale round is a total dissapoinment, press a button once and collect a mediocre win, that was worth waiting for.
if they had adopted the battlestar galatica route along the journey it might have been more interesting than changing the background colour, by that i mean once you reached a point on the maps you get rolling reels, and cascading wild until you hit the next feature, or simply made the rtp equal on all features and allowed the player to pick what they want to play after doing 1 full journey..
thats all i can muster for now![]()

The RTP wasnt that bad though
Many people want the chance of hitting a mega uber super dooper win which imo is why MG have been creating a lot of these type of slots. There aernt many standard line slots that have the payout potential of the 243 ways.
Well most of my big wins have come from the 243 ways to win and I love these type of slotsMany people want the chance of hitting a mega uber super dooper win which imo is why MG have been creating a lot of these type of slots. Sure you have the chance for a huge win.....however....The reason MG releases the 243 ways to win slot is to FORCE you to play all lines and suck every last cent from you. Trust me the 243 slots are a gold mine for MG.
I have never put a cent in any 243 slot. I have tried them in free play and that proved my point. Total money grab!!

I think Mark's post highlights an important issue which is being overlooked on this thread. i.e. Avalon 2 has nothing to do with Avalon 1
Avalon 1 was a very clever and at its time groundbreaking slot with some very specific touches (eg the extra wilds in free spins). Microgaming taking what is just another generic 243 line thing and calling it Avalon 2 is disrespectful and condescending to players of Avalon 1 in my opinion
Compare to WMS who when introducing Black Knight 2 even with its extra reels and lines have ensured the key elements of what makes Black Knight a great game have remained.
Five years ago I'd have said Microgaming were simply the best software provider. Nowadays they are increasingly just a bad joke in my eyes
