Hi there Meister.

I cant believe in 2014 theres still a need that i as a user have to use tools to resize attachements (JPEG etc.) so they have the correct size to be uploaded in the forum(f.e. uploading screenshots in the Winner Screenshots Thread) - It´s pain in the ass to find/use those snippet tools, paint everytime and just costs so much nerves for every1.

BUT maybe im wrong and autoresizing to certain filesizes is NOT possible nowdays then i´d suggest someone should invent this quickly !

Cheers

I agree! Pictures should be auto-resized and compressed if necessary when uploaded. I'm sure there's an add-on for the forum that does that! Many times i thought about uploading a couple od pics but decided against because it's always a bit of a painful process :)

I dunno, always seemed easy to me
Right click pic, open in pant, click pixels, set to 350, voila...if you want smaller, set number smaller, if you want bigger tough noogies, 350 is max ( maybe it's 375, but still)

Yeah I am with the autosize peeps on this one. It's a PITA to resize it. If I could just upload and be done with it that would be great. Then others can glory at my awesome wins:D (well small victories really:p)

Yeah but you need to open it in your photo application, save it and and... This is taking time. Especially if you want to upload a bunch of pictures...

I guess (haven't worked with vBulletin Forums a while) there is an easy plug-in for picture resizing/compressing which will make it much easier for members to upload pictures etc.

I don't know how slow your computer is, but for me, its right click, open in paint, resize, close, auto saves as
that all takes me about 3 seconds flat if that
as to mulitple pics, you can only upload 4 anyway
I dunno - I guess I don't have that sense of urgency

Yeah i wanted to upload around 15 pics yesterday in 3 posts, it took some time!

And if there's a technical possibility to install a plug-in (maybe 2-5 hours max) to allow thousands of players to upload easier and faster it makes sense looking into it.

vBulletin is a modern forum system and it makes sense to use the tools they offer to make the visit more enjoyable :)

This thread caught my eye because I too have been inconvenienced at times by the "too big" BS re uploading images. So yeah, it would be good if it's something we could do. Jury is still out on that because it's something Bryan has to look into. BUT ...

Bryan has a lot on his plate at the moment, even more so than normal because of some of the issues we've been having re Google, dead links, black hat SEO stuff, etc. So basically what I'm saying is "good point, but please be patient while we put out some fires."

I seem to remember that before that episode where nobody could upload any pictures for a few days I did not have to resize my screenshots so it appears to me either the auto-resize gadget was lost or they changed the allowable file size.

Max, I think Webzcas is the one who fiddled with it.:D

Just open it in paint again.
Where it says 100...change that to 50 and then cut.
Works fine for me, or at least it did with the only screenie I have needed to do it with.

Are you resaving the resized pic and trying to upload it? Also there are 3 parameters for the size; length, width, and file size. If you set the max. width to 800 pixels or below the rest of the parameters will probably be ok.
