When I first joined Moneybookers they immediatly disabled my account and said;
"Because of security related issues, to gain access to your account you must provide a set of identification."

They then opened the account after 3 weeks of locking me out.

Now my latest Moneybookers problem is that they have suddenly without any warning disabled POLi. Now I cannot make instant Moneybookers uploads.
I phoned them and got given the same story;
"Sorry becasue of security related issues you can no loger use POLi for transactions."

I asked if I can use POLi again in the future they said I can't and they are not willing to tell me why.

Anyone else had this problem?

Should I pressure Moneybookers to allow me to use POLi again?

Maybe I should switch to Netteller? I think they have instant uploads (unsure.)

More BS from Moneybookers. Whilst you can get just as much BS from Neteller, the BS from both is likely to differ, so with accounts at BOTH, you should be better served.

Perhaps Moneybookers don't trust POLi, or don't trust Australia. It might have something to do with legislation in Australia, where banks are not supposed to be letting online gambling transactions go through, though not to the extent of the requirements of UIGEA.

It is a shame that Moneybookers and Neteller have such a hold on the eWallet market. There are other options, but they seem even MORE prone to bullshit than Moneybookers.

Rather than pressure Moneybookers, lean on your CASINO, and tell them you would LOVE to carry on playing, but CAN'T because you have run into this problem with Moneybookers, and have reached "deadlock" with them.

Merchants have considerable clout with Moneybookers, as well as with Neteller. They need each other, and every player locked out because of bullshit is less profit for the casino and eWallet.

When I was locked out of Canbet credit card deposits because they had decided to use "powered by Moneybookers" as the only option for it, I told support I could no longer deposit because I am VIP at Neteller, but it's empty, and I can't use my card because I don't have a Moneybookers account, and don't want one because their service would be worse than Neteller.

Canbet came straight back and said that they could "have a word", and give me a VIP Moneybookers account straight away, and I would get a level of service equivalent to what I got from Neteller. Clearly, they had sufficient clout to make it happen, but NO WAY could I have got this from going direct to Moneybookers.

I've had the same problems with Moneybookers. Locking my account every time money goes in or out!! Is Frustrating. Will never use them again! Have verified everything, bank, id, Etc... but still no luck. Had a $2500 win put in to money bookers from Aladdins gold and money bookers locked my account immediately! I now have to send some id that has been signed by a JP to some address in london before they will release my money to me! Is absurd. A money service that get's suspicious and locks your account every time you use the service as it is intended!
I now only use Ukash. You can get it anywhere in Oz that has the easy pay terminals. Like eftpos really. Has a purple E on the sign to let you know that it is an easy pay outlet. Ukash's website tells you where you can buy it at stores near you. It will print you out a voucher with a code(like a phone recharge voucher) and you enter it online and your account is credited immediately! That failing I buy gift cards with my visa debit(a lot of casinos have this as an option. MicroGaming casinos allow us to use poli from within the cashier so you don't have to upload through moneybookers at all. You can upload straight in to your account.

When it's time to withdraw I use Instadebit. Money hits Instadebit and I withdraw and it is in my bank within two days.

Ukash sounds good.
If Moneybookers continue with this nonsense I will seriously consider changing.

Just read this on the ukash website You can buy ukash online too. I didn't know that. will do that in future!

If you have an online bank account from one of these banks you can get a Ukash voucher in values from $10 - $100.
Savings Loans
Qantas Staff Credit Union
BankWest
BankSA
Suncorp Bank
Bendigo Bank
CUA
Bank of Queensland
Westpac
NAB
Commonwealth Bank
StGeorge Bank

Go to Prepaid4me
Choose the value of Ukash: any value from $10 - $100
Pay using Poli
See the 19-digit Ukash PIN instantly
Now you're ready to pay online (PIN is valid for 12 months)

As far as you know Gremmyboy there are no fees/charges for using UKash?

Also what about different currencies? How would it work if I wanna make a deposit to a casino in Euros for instance?

Contact Club World about this, as it seems Moneybookers is even accusing this MERCHANT of something "dodgy", when all they have done is pay you by Moneybookers, which as you say, is using the service as intended.

In effect, they are casting suspicion on the validity of the money coming from Aladdin's Gold, so have immediately locked your account. This payment was itself the trigger for this latest lockout, since you had ALREADY cleared up all previous ones.

This constant BS is why I steer clear of Moneybookers, because coupled with this, they are very difficult to contact when there ARE problems.

Well I have to say I'm surprised at all this.

In 4 years Ive never had an issue with them.

Your problems with Poli have nothing to do with any Australian legislation etc. There is NO restriction placed on bank accounts when it comes to gambling transactions UNLESS they involve a credit/debit card transaction - and even then it is more closely related to the international policies of MC and VISA.

Neteller is my mainstay. I have a debit card attached which I use for holidays, presents etc and the odd bill here and there. I can get cash out instantly but I seldom need to...the charge is $6 per withdrawal but i get it back at months end as a VIP. Personally I think its better than bankwire/instadebit as I totally avoid fees and can keep my gambling funds seperate.

It DOES seem to have something to do with Australia though, as both complaints are very odd, and are BOTH being suffered by Australian players, one of whom has trouble with POLi.

Neteller does not seem to have these problems, and is clearly available to Australians, so it seems the best course of action for these two is to ditch Moneybookers and get a Neteller account, making sure they get it verified and made up to "extended" as soon as possible.

Use AUD as the currency, as this should make the verification of a bank account much easier, as it is done by paying in a small amount, and this has to be entered correctly on the Neteller website once it appears in the bank.

If a different currency is preferred, best to sort this out with Neteller beforehand, as currency translation will "bugger up" the verification process, since the amount Neteller send in the account currency will NOT be the same as what shows up in the bank, and you will fail verification.

I wonder whether the problem is at MBs end as i have never had any transaction questioned by my bank regarding any gambling transaction - or by MB for that matter.

I setup my account in USD as all the casinos use it and it means I don't pay conversion fees when redepositing or receiving winnings.

Verification was easy as my bank indicates the amount deposited ( or debited can't remember which it wad years ago) both USD and aud.

..yet:rolleyes:

It seems these other two are having SEVERE problems, even to the extent that receiving a withdrawal from a respected merchant (Club World Group) causes their account to be locked YET AGAIN, and it becoming even HARDER each time to get it unlocked.

You too may find problems all of a sudden, and for no obvious reason, and find it impossible to deal with them.

It seems that once problems start, they don't ever stop, and there is NO-ONE for players to turn to for help, because the usual places like CDS, eCogra, licensing jurisdictions, etc, only cover the CASINO, and NOT the processor.

Will never use Moneybookers again. Just too much hassle. My account is locked more often than it is accessible. I paid for an international calling card so I could ring moneybookers and got the same 'Please send documents to us' that I got through their email support. My account is frozen and won't be unlocked until I send my documents to london. I had recently made a deposit to moneybookers via Poli as well and they are holding that as well. Will look in to Neteller as it sounds like a good option. I have only recently discovered ukash and have been using that as it is a deposit option at alot of casinos. I don't think there are fees? I believe that the merchant pays the fees. That said though I would prefer to have an account that I can use to hold, deposit and withdraw gambling money as at the moment I pay with ukash and withdraw with instadebit(if available, If not wire transfer which has a $45 fee) so my money is constantly moving and attracting fees as it is passed around!

cheers

Neteller does everything that Moneybookers does, and if you get the Net+ card, you can use the money in your Neteller account to pay for your shopping with NO fees, and withdraw it from an ATM but WITH a fee. You can also connect a bank account to Neteller and withdraw money in bulk (no fee if you make VIP).

Given the trouble with Moneybookers, make sure you get fully verified by Neteller BEFORE you put large sums of money in the account.

In the mean time, send the documents to Moneybookers, but if they come up with yet ANOTHER excuse, tell them you want to terminate your account, and have your money refunded, and that they have a reasonable amount of time to complete this, else you will make a formal complaint to the regulators to DEMAND your account be closed and monies returned to you.

Given that some of this money came from your bank, and not a casino, you may have another means to exert pressure & get it back, but keep this one for later;)

Thanks VWM.
I am going to write to Moneybookers today and ask for my account to be closed and all fund returned to my bank account. Not sure if it will work or not but I hope it does. What is the name of the regulator? I will need to include it in the email.

Have just read some more of the forum 'payment processing issues' and see that I am not the only one that this has happened to! Am shocked that people aren't fleeing in droves from Moneybookers! I still for the life of me can not understand how an institution designed to handle the flow of money back and forward can hinder that process so much? Ridiculous. I only had problems when I recieved the $2500 from Aladdins Gold Casino as I had made several deposits before that with no hassle at all. So I'm assuming that they see a moderate sum like $2500 as being worthy of suspicion? What gets me though is that Aladdins Gold uses Moneybookers in their Casino for deposit and withdrawal so clearly Moneybookers are aware of who and what they are and should have accepted the funds with no hassles at all instead of treating the money as if it had come from just some random source and flagging it as suspicious! I remember when the money first hit my moneybookers site I was taken to some page where I had to click an 'I accept' Button on a form that warned me about money laundering, etc... Is This the norm? Have never had withdrawals go there before as always used wire transfer(until I discovered Instadebit) for all withdrawals from casinos.

Setup a neteller account, request a debit card, and you will never look back. I use the mastercard debit card all the time for ' luxury' stuff so at least I use some if my winnings for something worthwhile.

Good luck.

Just adding that I have had a moneybookers acocunt for about 4-5 years as well and can confirm that I have not had any issues what so ever with Moneybookers.

I use them a good 3-4 times a week using POLI and haqve never had any issues.

SIDE NOTE: G'day Gremmy- I see you are a good ole S.A lad.

Howdy!
Southern boy through and through! lol

Have travelled all of oz though and lived in every state except NT. NT was so so so muggy. I spent the whole time in the motel with the aircon on only leaving to drive to the casino($10,000 win on a slot from a single $20 spin! Fond memories) Went and fed the fishies in Darwin and had lunch at the wharf. Over all it was nice. Must've lost 15kg in the two weeks I was there! :eek2:
Didn't see Uluru(sp?) though so may go back to do that? Is it worth it?

Cheers

You might as well enclose the documents they requested with your letter.

You might also want to take this up with Club World, as it seems clear now that Moneybookers flagged CLUB WORLD as "suspicious" when they paid your winnings to Moneybookers. They should KNOW that this was a payment from one of their merchants, and that the nature of the business means that players DO sometimes win an amount well in excess of the sum of their deposits.

It seems Moneybookers have "got it in for you", and will NEVER leave you alone, even if you send them your DNA.

The regulator in the UK is the FSA, who grant them their license to operate. There is also the Financial Ombudsman, who deals with complaints from individuals about specific licensed financial institutions. There are also the courts where Moneybookers is registered.

Closing an account automatically triggers the need to return the funds, even though whilst the account remains open, they can repeatedly lock it, and "investigate".

Finally, there is the Information Commissioner, who polices the Data Protection act. If Moneybookers has offices in the UK, you can serve them with a Data Disclosure request, which costs £10, but must be complied with under the act. This may reveal WHY you have had all this trouble, and might also provide evidence for a claim against them, although if you get your money back - don't bother, just go with Neteller.
