Auctioning adspace at Casinomeister and Got2bet

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I would just like to thank everyone for their well wishes, as well as everyone who participated in the bid, whether you posted in this thread or actually made a bid.
More importantly, HUGE kudos must go to Bryan and Ted for their tireless work in making this auction a MASSIVE success. Thank you very much guys, you have really helped to make a difference.
Here at InterCasino, we are obviously all delighted that we won the bid, as we were all terribly shocked and saddened by the events in South East Asia over the holiday period. We just hope now that our winning bid can help UNICEF make a difference to the men, women and children who are suffering right now as a result of the Tsunami.

Kind regards,

Ryan Hartley

...As am I and probably everyone else. Couldn't be better that you folks stepped up to the plate at the eleventh hour. Well done indeed.

Nice coverage from Casino City Press, guys...

Intercasino.com Bid Wins Casinomeister and Got2Bet.com Tsunami Relief Auction
14 January 2005

By Casino City staff

The bids are in at Casinomeister and Got2bet.com and the top bid went to Intercasino.com for $111,000!

The auction for a prime banner spot on the top main index pages of Casinomeister.com and Got2bet has ended with the top bid going to Intercasino.com for $111,000.

Intercasino.com will own the space for 12 months and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to UNICEF and their efforts to assist Tsunami victims of the recent disaster.

Bryan Bailey of Casinomeister described the auction as "an awesome success" and publicly thanked Ted Loh for coming up with the idea.

He also commended the other casino operators, managers and software representatives who participated in the auction including: iGlobalmedia, Stanley Acropolis, The Virtual Casino Group, VipCasino, King Solomons, 32Red, Crystal Palace, Winward Casino and Poker.com.

UNICEF is present and participating in relief efforts in all the affected countries, with the greatest activities in the hardest-hit countries Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Somalia, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Maldives. UNICEF has hundreds of people on the ground in these countries.

Agreed - this thing worked out very well indeed and those ridiculous comments are well out of order.

Few questions to ask.

Where is the 111k?

If intercasino paid it already, why not see "Intercasino Donated $111K to UNICEF" under the banner?

If not paid yet, should the second highest bidder wins the space?

You know, I admit that I'm even more suspicious, jaded and cynical than the average Joe, but this is getting ridiculous ...

Intercasino's got $111,000 just lying around for them to throw at whoever they want.

I'm sure there's paperwork to fill out, channels to go through and all kind of mess that no one knows about but the bean-counters at Intercasino.

And it's a weekend, for Pete's sake!! (I'm trying to control my language). Not to mention a long weekend here in the States, if that affects anything.

Nothing but nay-sayers and you guys are killing me. How about we wait more than just 3 days before we start calling down doom and destruction or worrying about whether the 2nd highest bidder need be contacted?

Geez ... :what:

Your posts are very immature.

To make light of a serious situation is uncalled for, at the least.

When inter making bids, it was fight for every second.

Now is taking time to fill up 3 days paper work? Does inter has nettler or other means of transfer $ instantly?

Does the $ goes to save livies?

The world is full of ass-kissers.

haha... not funny

hahacasino (Joe Chang) is obviously stoned, drunk, and clueless.

You should stay off of threads that don't concern you,
and go work on that www.halfasscasino.com... or was it
www.halfbakedcasino.com?

After seeing your thoughtless comments here, I would
NEVER play at any casino YOU were involved with.

And I hope others read your ridiculous posts and feel
the same way.

I went to city hall to ask the mayer few questions.

He was not home. Some pigs attracted me.

Should I go court house monday?

What's all this BS from you? We should all be happy to see such a large amount being tonated towards a worthy cause and now you are making waves. With due respect, your comments border on the illogical,if not insane. Please try to act more responsibly.

ha ha casino, this sort of inane comment really bugs me. The auction has only just finished, so why don't you wait a little until Bryan and Ted have had time to finalise the handover details with Intercasino before rushing to your keyboard with this sort of tripe?

Your posts sound as if you are using a really bad language translation guide which is producing gobbledegook.

hahacasino studied English at the Bethug School of Journalism? :p

haha casino - knock it off. That's your final warning.

Actually Ted and I will be in London meeting with Intercasino next week, so we will probably do this personally. We will keep you all updated with the details.

Fantastic. Big props to Casinomeister, Got2bet and Intercasino (and those others who jacked up the price).

While I don't play at casinos anymore I do play on Interpoker from time to time and will play there a bit more from now on.

And congratulations to Bryan. You have your own -sucks.com site now. Not very many people get that. :)

No, but my english teacher was a slut.

haha casino - knock it off. That's your final warning.

Warning of what?

Got balls to warning intercasino pays it off today or lose the bid?

I bet you'll keep kissing casino owners fat asses for a living.

Hahacasino,

You are not funny anymore.

Your thoughtless rude comments are no longer welcome here. Go find another forum to pollute with your idiocy.

Bye.

Since there are so many blathering idiots in this world, I was only surprised that it took this long to pop up :D

:what: Banning a person, closing a thread, I see that, to a small point, but to actually delete their posts..

Hi Jinnia,

This is unprecedented because normally I would let things be. The thing is (as harsh as it may seem) I reserve the right to administrate the board as I see fit. This thread dealt with things beyond some stupid bonus abuse complaint, rogue casino, or is it cheating software or what? This thread dealt with an issue where over 100,000 people died and millions - including members of this board - have been directly affected - they've lost friends or loved ones.

Hahacasino was making stupid jokes about this matter just to be purposely abrasive - and he thought it was funny. I didn't. But if the missing posts bother you or anyone else, it's only a click of a switch and they'll be restored back into their full. I just don't see the point.

Hi Casinomeister,

No, once deleted, I don't see the point in restoring them.

And yes, I read what hahacasino was doing, and didn't care for it. That should have been kept out of this thread for it didn't deal with the issue at hand.

To let you know a bit more about me, since this is the internet, I see it as an electronic book, so to speak, when a post gets deleted it's like burning a book, and I have strong feelings against that.

And you are correct, it's your board to handle situations as you see fit.

It just surprised me that you would delete any post for any reason.

But in this case I would argue against that, this was like removing graffiti off of a bathroom wall.

Restored. :D

I would agree with that IF the subject at hand wasn't about peoples loss and suffering, but since it is, it was like tearing pages out of a good book, even if some pages read of something different than what the story was actually about.

I'm tired, not making self clear.

Thank you, but as you said before, it's your 'front room' and if you don't want it soiled, then you have the right to remove the dirt... :D

The ad was put up the day after the auction on Casinomeister's front page, and throughout the site on Got2Bet (although in Feb we are displaying advertising for VIP Casino).

Ahhhh, that's what happens when I just go straight to the Forum and bypass the main site.

My apologies and thanks, spearmaster.

The question was perfectly legitimate... LOL... the auction was actually for the front page - but in order to say thanks I gave them the spot for the entire site - besides which it kind of levels things off traffic-wise, otherwise Casinomeister would bear most of the burden :)
