And where do YOU live?

Inspired by the other thread (https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/) this is the town in which I reside.

Off season, the town rolls up, stores close at 5 pm, tumbleweeds roll by then snow. It really is dull as dirt and slow as molasses. It's a summer resort town with not much else (though te neighbouring town has hills for skiing come winter).

Might seem exciting to grow up in a resort town, but really, it's tourist haven, and for the ones live here, nothing exciting. When the world's longest (freshwater) beach is at your doorstep, you rather take it for granted.

Here's some pics - we took the kids to the beach this weekend to play - otherwise, we don't really bother. Pretty much no matter where you live in town, the beach is omni-prresent. I can basically hit the beach with a rock and a good arm from my place, though my end isn't the toursity/bar side, rather just beaches and locals.

Let's see pics from your neighbourhood. :)

What's the problem with a tent on the beach with a decent internet connection?

lol, that would be the 2 dogs and 2 cats...and winters hit minus 40 (oh, and things like the bed, that I'm still paying off lol).

*never mind the daily fines

Here!
70 miles south-east of central London - and about the same distance from France... one hell of a swim though! :eek2:

What are house prices and rents like there Casumo?

Depends when you are renting and where.

Summertime is the worst for finding the place because now is the high demand. In addition if you want to live in a nice parts of Malta like Sliema, St. Julians, Swieqi, prices are higher as well.

So for modern 2 bedroom apartment you will need to have between €850-€1000 plus bills. BTW bills are hight here, because its a small place and the most things are imported.

Here's mine. I'm top room on the left. As you can see it's a nice sunny day, and there are green fields surrounding me. There was a swing on the field but one of the kids from over the way ate it. I have hours of entertainment watching the local kids ride mini-motocross bikes over the grass, and then the coppers chasing them. On warm nights I can prise open a board across my window and get high on the skunk fumes for free, if the wind is in the right direction. You can't see it, but there was a shop opposite and a pub, but they closed after the third landlord in 18 months was murdered.
Occasionally I get the part of an extra and a fee for use of my property in those 'doom' films like 28 Days later, the post-Armageddon sort of ones. It's surprisingly crime-free, as nobody has a reason to come around here, other than the odd stray dog.

Hedgehok's got nothing on you :eek2:

very funny... not!
Bail out money goes to paying the banks interest if you did not know. No money goes back in circulation.

You know what to do - have an EU referendum, leave and leave the Euro and then tell the Germans to stuff their loans. :D

Nothing fancy but here is my little Soi, amazingly quiet for Bangkok and far, far away (8 BTS stations) from the "bars" :D

The condo is further in the back of the Soi, hidden from view by that big tree on the left. The arrow in the second picture is not just pointing where my apartment is but also to the location of the desk I am sitting on right now while typing this post :D

We actually did have something similar.... and the public voted to reject the negotiation regarding the austerity package unfortunately eventually the gov was not able to follow-through with a better negotiation... in fact by then, the deal became worse. I guess its hard to play hard-ball when its not in your court.
OK lets leave politics out of this thread so we can just share our pics :)

There are some nice photo's there.

I just live in a normal place I guess ?
50 minutes or so out of the city :)

Semi rural, huge country town I guess ?
Used to live inner city many many many years ago but it is not for me..

I like it here, as do my children with their schools, friends etc.
Except house we live in sucks and is too small and freezing cold.

Not too far to drive to be in the country area's and so forth. We like it!

Ahh nice Mina, have you seen Victoria's Beautiful Great Ocean Road ?

Such a beautiful drive, beach after beach, gets really great when you go way further deep down the coast, near Warnambool.
