Hello,

I have a bitch today. I played at 7 sultans yesterday. ( ben playing there a long time) My credit card was left in a restaurant last week, and I cancelled it.

So when I went to play at 7 sultans, I registered my husbands card.
We have the same bank account. I played and lost. No problem there.
But then I get an email saying that this deposit was not allowed using
a card other than my name, even though it was my husbands. They are claiming it a third party player, which is a joke, my husband would never gable, lol anyway, so had I won , they would have not credited me my win. So
I think they they should put the money back on that card. Thier system should have not allowed me to register it in the first place if it was not allowed. Instead they email me after they took the money. Now they also want a copy af all credit cards used to deposit, knowing I had the first one cancelled because it was lost! Come on! I am burning mad at this. I just erased the casino from my screen.

What is your opinion on this?

Not defending the casinos actions in any way, but they do have a point. How do they know you don't have a secret gambling problem you're trying to hide from your husband (just an example), and swiped his card? Again, how do they know that the card is tied to the same bank account? You're assuming they know all this, and there's no way form them to know at all.

Unfortunately, I believe you're done with this group. I doubt they'll let you deposit there again (doesn't sound like you would anyways ;))

And yes, it does boil down to they're playing a double standard. They should refund the money they took back to the card in question. Maybe your husband could call them and try to straighten this out somewhat.

My husband knows I used the card, he gave it to me until I got my new one:)

Anyway, he is more than willing to call them, though I dont know what good it would do.

LOL, my husband read the post and made a good point. If I were trying to hide the gambling, I wouldnt use his card.lol That was too funny.

Also, I used his card at the other place I play, and had no problems even cashed out ahead with no problems. Myhusband was rather happy at the amount I cashed out:)

I was shocked to get that email. Like I said, they should not have allowed the card to be registered in the first place. So that looks bad for them.
They will take the money, but they wont give it back to you.

I played a lot of money at this casino. This just burns me up.

You may see this as funny, but the truth of it is that when people get caught up in addiction, be it drugs, drinking or gambling, they can rationalize things in their minds to suit their needs. People with gambling addictions will indeed steal money and credit cards from their spouses, friends, relatives, whoever, just to be able to have their next gamble. I'm not saying that's your situation, I'm just saying that this happens all the time.

Ideally, you should have contacted the casino beforehand and explained your situation, asking if you could use your husband's card. Unfortunately, you didn't. Now you're wanting to have your deposit put back on your credit card. I'm guessing that you're in the US, and if so, FL cannot legally refund to your credit card.

At this point, I would ask to speak directly with a supervisor and explain the situation and offer to send your husband's documentation, along with your own. If you have further trouble beyond that, perhaps Bryan can assist you, or I'd be willing to help sort this out.

I can understand them avoiding fraud, and not allowing other credit cards registered. It makes sense. But they should not allowed it to have been registered in the first place. They need to fix that in the system somehow to be fair. The card has the same address and last name. Besides the point though, I got the email after the money was in the account. My husband is going to call them tommorow. I dont even know what he needs to ask.
Even if they agree to take his documentaion with mine, I will no longer play there, unless they fix thier system to make it fair. So sending it in so I can keep my account ? Seems pointless. They should refund what I could not have withdrawn and fix thier system. Thats how I see it. That money came out of our account, and I didnt give it to them for charity. How nice, I gave THEM a bonus. I am in the usa. I also have neteller. They could do it that way. When I have won there, they deposited my winnings via neteller.
Too me it just looks like another way for them to make money. I will never spend another dime at that group. I will also put a review about it on my own website and remove thier banners. I emailed them, and never got a response. I really didnt think it an issue when I registered my husbands card.
In fact I buy and sell on ebay , and when I reported my card lost, I have automatic payments that come out of ebay off my card, I changed it to his.
No problems. This really surprised me. At least I finaly got my new one today.
If they are worried about people with gambling problems charging other cards, do not allow the system to take another card. Take slotlands example.
When we changed banks, I had to phone them to add my new card to the account. I could not do it manually. It may be a headache, but at least its fair.

heres my 2 cents, i feel that the casino is wrong in telling you that you cant use this credit card because its not your name after you deposit, but i feel the casino should have stopped the transaction and said something before
the casino wanted its money, when it got it, they said you were in the wrong

why dont you use a credit card through neteller?

Because the one I have registered through neteller, is the one that got lost.
I could have done an eft, but that would take 2-3 business days. I really didnt expect a problem to begin with.

Ok, now I'm confused. The card would have nothing to do with Neteller. You could have just used instacash and you wouldn't have to put up with all this hassle from them. But, either way, hindsight is 20/20, and nobody here is agreeing with what the casino did. I think they should at least allow your husband to send them his documents and resolve this issue. I also think MG should be made aware of this "glitch", as they are setting themselves and the casinos up for the possibility of fraudulant players......or hmmm, maybe they don't care? It's a win/win situation for them.

Instacash comes from your debit card. You have to do a eft for it to come straight from the account. Truley I wasnt really giving it much thought at the time, I didnt think it would cause any situation. For the casino it is win, win.
I agree. If a fraudulant player comes on, the worse is a charge back, if not,
they keep the money. Even worse for the player, imagine if I hit a progressive or something, they would get that money too.

The casino already has an edge. This is just plain stealing to me.
When I loose, I excpect it. But I cant stand a thief of any sort.
They really need to fix this. If I went to a land based, used my husbands card in the atm, the casino isnt going to say, that money isnt from your card,
so we are going to keep it. Its just common sense.

Anyway, Im off to bed for the night. Thanks for your input and your ear.

Worth bearing in mind that the casinos (and shops etc) have mechanisms to take cards but its not until the banks review the transaction that any action can be taken on transactions like this. My bet is the bank flagged the deposit up as a potential problem some time after the actual transaction and told the casino, who are obliged to take action.

Indeed, the bank may even have refused to pay the casino. Chargebacks follow a similar routine and its the casino that suffers. In my eyes, this is a bank issue, not a casino issue. I've taken online retail purchases via a store before and many transactions went through only later to have flagged an issue at the bank meaning we had shipped goods and didn't get paid. We packed it in as a lost cause in the end as frauds were so prevalent.

Unfortunately it's another case of the honest people paying for misplaced deeds of others. Like why signup bonuses are so lousy these days and why insurance premiums go up every year!

I would expect that it would still be against the bank's T&C. There is also difference that you would be using cash withdrawn from the ATM to buy chips, so the casino has no risk. (Another difference is that using a credit card to withdraw cash would cost you typically 2% of the amount withdrawn and some steep interest charges, whereas if I use my card at an online casino, I don't pay charges.)

From the T&C:
"If there are any irregularities or if there is a mismatch between the name and address of the player, and the name and address associated with the credit card, or other mode of payment, used by such player, all transactions conducted with such credit card will be considered as invalid and voidable in the sole discretion of casino management", so I think it should have been clear that even using your husband's card is not OK. The casino has no way of knowing whether you are using someone else's card with their permission or not, even if the address is the same and the last names are the same, and I am sure you would be glad if they stopped a stranger trying to use your card.

As there was no attempt to defraud the casino, I hope that this issue can be sorted out. Your best bet is to cooperate with the casino, and send them whatever documentation they want.

That I can understand but they want a copy of all the cards, including the lost one. That would be impossible. I tried to explain that and they have not contacted me back.

Now if the charge was never made to my account, then I would be happy.
But as it stands it is. I can not give them a copy of what I no longer have.

I guess I should have read the fine print, but really didnt think it was an issue.
It would be nice if they would respond to my emails.

I stayed out of the thread because I think most of the posters here have said what I wanted to say.

While I am in no doubt as to what you did and why you did it, and I can certainly understand that, in this particular situation I have to side with the casino from the perspective of security.

I do, however, think that they should refund the deposit because if they were going to void all play, they should also void all deposits and return them. There should be no excuse for not returning a deposit which was not eligible for play at the casino.

What Greedygirl and Grandmaster said is probably the best way forward - cooperate with them, apologize for the misunderstanding, and hope that they will resolve the issue amicably.

With regards this, there is a process in the Authorisation stage for the merchant to declare the name and address to the card provider for verification.

For example, this would not have happened at Phoneican/Nostlagia etc etc as the pay and extra fee per transaction to check the name and address on the card given is the same as that on the account they manage.

Instacash doesn't come from the debit card, it comes directly from your bank account that you have registered with Neteller. The debit card is just a way to fund through Neteller.

Really ? Wow , learned something new today. I thought it was the other way around:) Thanks for the info.

Anyway, im not gonna fret this anymore. I didnt win off the deposit anyway.
It was just a matter of ethics to me. I guess thats close to the word Im looking for. They just lost a good paying customer. Im sure they do not care since they coudnt even take the time to responde to my emails. I deleted there group from my desktop. No one likes feeling unappreciated.

Anyway, Happy new years to everyone! My daughter and I have the flu .
So no hangover for me this year, lol but thisis worse. Im back off to bed,lol

You could send statements or get your bank to comfirm that you once had that card.

My recommendation is to scan or ot take a digital photo of every card that you use for gambling.
