thankfully id taken my laptop to bed with me for a session on 32red..guess some good does come out of gambling ..although it was a loosing one it saved my laptop lol....

i will have to stay out the casinos for a while now and use the money to start replacing those that were stolen..will miss my daily sessions

has humanity really stooped so low these days to burgal those that cant defend themselfs..wheelchair or no wheelchair id still like 5 mins alone in a room with them ...

sorry for a bit of a ramble..feeling kinda violated by the whole thing really

So sorry sattty! I'd feel so violated and never sleep soundly again myself. And the anger....ohhh I'd be furious.

Hopefully you get things back to normal soon.

they even stole my wheelchair i mean who takes wheelchair ..thankfully it was my old one only had it as a spare

police say very little chance of catching anyone for it ..least there being honest i guess

SCARRY THESE DAYS

I'd say "SOMEONE" saved You! Not a good idea to be in the same room with someone like that!
Do you have any kind of security warning where you live?

That just sucks! As stated above I am huge believer in "what comes around goes around". Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Here's hoping things work out better for you down the road and wishing you all the best:)

Sattty,

So sorry. There are some really lowlife scums out there.

I am a firm believer in karma too. May not be today, may not be tomorrow but it will come back to bite them in the butt threefold.

I know exactly how you feel Satty, I was robbed 2 years ago. It was pure hell. My daughter was 8 at the time and she watched the police come in to the house with guns drawn, K-9 dogs, and on officer even had a shot gun. She was so afraid to walk into her own house. We lived in a hotel for almost week before she would walk in. Every little noise she was run and hide thinking the creeps were coming back.

I know there had to be more than 1 because they took a 70 inch flat screen off the wall, they even took the brackets it was hanging on. About 8 months later it was pure luck or an act of god, because my daughter was very sick, and I was taking her to the doctors. She was going to vomit so I pulled into the parking lot of a plaza where there was a pawn shop. I went in there to get some paper towels and holy shit, I was in there and saw my wedding rings were getting pawned. I was lucky there was only 2 cars in that lot besides mine. So I left and called the police and pulled my car behind the 2 parked ones so no one can leave. I acted like my car broke down and had the hood up. When the creep came out he was like "Move your car" I said "Hello idiot, you can see it is not moving. When he tried to look at my car and leaned over to look under hood I beat the freakin crap out of him. I was slamming his face into the metal stuff under the hood and would not stop. It took both cops to take me off of him. He was the one that pawned a lot of the stuff that was stolen from our house. And when they searched his house they found a lot of stuff that was reported stolen.

I got fined 1 dollar and was told that if I was ever was to be in front of that judge again I would be in a lot of trouble. Because this creep was a career criminal he got 14 years without parole. I am waiting for the day he gets out. I am not finished with this SOB yet.

So you never know Satty, things happen for a reason and you just might get the SOB who robbed ya. That is when you will take out your anger and I know that SOB will sorry. Hang in there buddy, it is rough and I know your pissed off to no end, but it does get better. Trust me it does.

All the best,
Lori

Lordy, Lori - you're not one to be crossed, that's for sure! But seriously, that was resourceful and courageous:thumbsup:

Having been burgled five times in the last 12 years I can identify with the feeling of rage at being violated and deprived of your property, Sattty - these low-lifes seem to have little if any decency or conscience, as your case so clearly indicates.

We've put in anti-burglar electronic measures and contracted with fast-reaction security firms up the wazoo, and it still doesn't deter these bastards - fortunately so far all they have done is break in whilst we were away, or confined their thieving to the lower floor of the house whilst we were asleep upstairs. And we are insured, although the premiums are quite high...everyone makes money except the luckless victim, it appears!

These dirtbags will do what ever it takes to get what they want. And you are so right Jetset, the victims are left to pay for it. Not only do we have to pay to replace the items stollen, we pay mentally as well. The anger, the sleepless nights, the extra money every month for a security system, the lists goes on. And having insurance isn't that great either. If you can't prove you owned what was stolen, they don't pay a penny for it. And then when you do make a claim with your insurance, your premium goes up. So there again you have to pay more money.

About 2 weeks ago, I was listening to one of the news channels and this couple had 2 big dogs. One was a rotty mix and the other was a German Shepard. They were robbed, the dirtbags feed the dogs steaks and then tied them up so they can move around the place. Tell me that house wasn't being watched by the dirtbags who robbed them.

It is a horrible feeling, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But the dirtbags who hit Satty are the lowest, they took the guys wheel chair. How low can someone get. The one thing I learned, is that if you can mark your belongings in some way to distinguish they are yours, and take pictures of everything you own, and keep all UPC labels and store all that stuff somewhere, you will be saving yourself from a migraine and a lot of stress.

So for everyone reading this thread, I really hope you read what I wrote and take action because don't think this couldn't happen to you because it can.

Don't get me started on insurance companies! If you think casino T&Cs are complex and largely put you at a disadvantage take a read through the terms and conditions addendum to your insurance policies. And the first reaction of any insurer appears to be "how can we get out of paying this claim."

Robbing someone's home is a total personal violation. It's different (IMO) than someone who robs a store (not that is good, just different). When those scumbags actually enter someone's home and take their stuff they are desecrating the personal space of people/families. Satty so glad you were not hurt by these .... well I want to use nasty words that might get me banned:rolleyes:. I feel for you and hope you recover. Don't be surprised if you feel unsafe and anxious. We have something called victim support here in NZ where victims of crime can get some counselling free. Reach out if you need it.

That really stinks. We've been lucky here I guess, the jeep got stolen (and trashed) but nobody's broken into the house - mind you I have a very large dog who barks if a mosquito flies over 'his' yard and does a Cujo impression when someone knocks or rings the bell, so that's a good deterrent.

They did a story on the news awhile back, these young guys walk around with clipboards and ring your doorbell. They pretend they're doing a survey or collecting for charity or whatever, but they're really scoping out your pad - seeing if you have a dog or an alarm and they can look into your living room and see all your goodies. We have an alarm sticker on the window and right after the news story we had some young native girl (with a clipboard) knock on the door and ask if our alarm was working ok.

So now I answer the door wearing a hockey mask, holding a video camera and a large bloody meat cleaver while Jake snarls and drools in the background. Then I glance up and down the street and say, "Won't you step inside for a moment....?"

lol...no I don't, but that's actually a good idea! :p

Anyhow to the OP - I hope they catch the scumbags and glad you're ok.

wish i could afford an alarm system..but there way out of my reach

think my main feeling is just anger...i cant work because of my disability so to replace the stolen things will take time and will impact other areas of my life..being stuck at home leaves me very little to do ..its why i enjoy the casinos so much ..playing the slots can help pass the time so im proper pissed il be missing out on that for a while..not even like i can watch tv now lol....

That is awful, I feel so sorry for you satty, what is this world coming to, people have lost all morality when they rob either the old or disabled, I sure hope you get justice...

I can give you this piece of uplifting advice though, no good will befall these people for they have no decency or respect for others, they will get punished remember satty, long runs the fox...

Take care x

So sorry this happened Satty. It's amazing what (so-called) humans do to others.

I think the feeling of insecurity that follows a home invasion like this and can last for several weeks or even months is one of the infuriating by-products of a burglary.

You tend to sleep a lot lighter and start awake at small noises, thinking the buggers are back. And I know I kept a bloody great hunting knife to hand after one of our several episodes, when we found that the thief/thieves had dropped a wicked looking knife on the way out of the property.

Whether you actually have an alarm system or not, a sticker alone works as some detererent.

You can get really really cheap (I got mine for $1 each at the dollar store) battery operated alarms that go off like a siren if the contact is broken. I use them on my windows in the summer.

They would definitely wake you if someone entered at night giving you time to call 911.
