I tried out 32Red Live Casino the other day for the first time and thought I'd share some information about it.
I would have tried it out years ago but it was always too laggy for me back then. I have the same internet connection now as I did then and it just suddenly started working for me.

Problems:
Due to lag I experienced a small delay of about 2 seconds and sometimes my hand auto-folded because of this.

When I was playing the more complex games like Ultimate Texas Hold'em the dealers were too fast; not allowing me to think about my hand.
Also, due to the display, sometimes I could not see what cards they were dealing. I could not see what cards were on the mat and the computer generated images of the cards appeared too late.

The $10 blackjack tables were crowded and I couldn't get a seat. So, I was restricted to betting behind players which turned out to be a bad idea because every player I bet behind did not know correct strategy. In my opinion, they really need to increase the number of $10 Blackjack tables on offer.

I found Blackjack Party to be quite fun and interesting. It's a concept I've never heard of before.
Basically, there's one male dealer with a female and they have fun and chat with the players. The dealers were from Latvia and I'm pretty sure the rest of the live casino is based in Latvia except 32Red's BJ table.
I asked the dealers to describe what Blackjack Party is because I was finding it hard and they just said; "Blackjack Party is Awesome!"

My advice is to not play any side bets as they are usually sucker bets with a much higher house edge.

Great observations.

Getting a seat at the lower stake Blackjack tables is a problem at casinos using the Evolution Gaming Solution. The tables can get full very quickly as a lot of casinos use the generic (shared tables).

The best solution if you like the software is to play at a casino that have invested in dedicated environments. More often than not they will have a range of BJ tables and getting a seat at them is normally much easier than trying one of the generic tables.

I'd advise against playing Bet Behind unless you have studied the play for a while and at least know how the person plays and whether they sticks to standard strategy.

Were you playing on a mobile device or PC? If playing on PC it's possible to go full screen so you get a better view of the cards, but that is an issue with mobile devices, especially phones, as you can hardly see the card values.

Regarding lag, lots of things can effect it. Personally, apart from my kids streaming movies etc on my broadband another killer can be other progs / apps open on your PC. I tend to close everything down I don't need, Dropbox is often the culprit and pausing that often cures my problems.

All the tables are located in Latvia, including the dedicated 32Red Table. Non English tables are streamed from studios in Malta with the exception of the English language Grosvenor tables that moved to Malta a few months ago.

I agree about sidebets if you want to keep your bankroll for a long time. But some games like Ultimate Texas Holdem and 3 Card Poker only really come alive when you're playing the side bets. But you need to have a big enough bankroll to manage the many losses you'll have before hitting the wins.

Don't lose heart, try somewhere where there are more dedicated tables. The stakes will be lower and you'll have more chance in getting a seat.

Watching people who were betting $500 per hand and not playing according to basic strategy gave me an idea. Maybe taking up online poker is a good idea; after all, if there's so many bad Blackjack players out there, maybe there will be just as many bad poker players.

One of the better side bets I saw was the pairs plus bet on 3 Card Poker. The HE isn't too high and it adds a lot of flavour to the game.
Personally, I don't think the trips bet on Ultimate Texas Holdem is that good because on those rare hands you get a big payout even if you don't play the side bet.
