Overview

Red Rake Gaming is a Spanish-based iGaming developer, and this Valencia-based company has been around since 2011. While, initially, the company had somewhat of a low profile (tending to build games primarily for the Spanish markets), today they’re starting to become a leading name in the iGaming industry, and they’re looking to enter a number of new markets, allowing their games to be played by millions of more players.
Today, the company boasts a workforce of more than 40 members of staff, covering everything from graphic designers, animators, coders and mathematicians. In this Red Rake Gaming review, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the developer’s games, the software platform used by them – and we’ll finish off with a general conclusion, and a look at some of the pros and cons of Red Rake Gaming (also known as RRG).

Software Platform

Today, all of Red Rake Gaming’s slots are built using HTML5. This ensures they can be played on all types of devices without any additional pieces of software or plugins. The HTML5 framework also allows Red Rake Gaming to create more diverse, player-focused games, many of which offer great win-potential and some entertaining bonuses.
In short, Red Rake Gaming’s slot can be played from both desktop and mobile devices, and they all render in so-called instant play mode

 Games

Like we’ve seen many game developers do, Red Rake Gaming have chosen to focus primarily on video slots; however, not all of these games have been directed at the real-money online casino world, and they’ve also developed a range of games for Social Casinos. Below, however, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the developer’s most popular real-money video slots.

Million 7: Million 7 is one of Red Rake Gaming’s latest releases, and it offers some incredible win-potential, with up to 1 MILLION ways to win on each spin! The game contains a plethora of symbols, including banknotes, cherries, sevens and other classic fruity like icons. Symbols that form part of a win are converted, using the “Money Collect” feature, and it’s possible to enter a lucrative free-spins bonus, where the full one million ways can become active!

Mata Hari: The Spy: Another of Red Rake Gaming’s latest releases, Mata Hari: The Spy, allows you to follow one of the world’s most well-known spies throughout history. The game’s played on a 6X6 grid, and there’s a total of 80 fixed paylines in play on each and every spin. If you’re lucky enough to land the scatter symbols anywhere in view you’ll trigger the free-spins bonus, and it’s possible to be awarded a whopping 144 free-spins! You’ll also see random raining wilds, which can be worth either 2X or 4X – this greatly adds to the win-potential of the game, and makes each spin as exciting as the last!

Cai Shen 88: No game developer would be complete without an Asian-inspired slot, and Cai Shen 88 is Red Rake Gaming’s offering. You’ll be playing alongside some of the most well-known and lucky symbols from Chinese culture, and Cai Shen himself can award multipliers of up to 88X – offering some huge win-potential for those lucky enough to hit some big wins. There are four different free-spins features in Cai Shen 88, and there’s also a Chinese Lantern minigame, where it’s possible to win up to 1,000X your total stake! The latter triggers quite frequently, which is a big bonus too!

Twin Harlequin: While not one of Red Rake Gaming’s most well-known games, Twin Harlequin is a more “back to basics” video slot that’s built around a 5-reel, 3-row format. There’s a total of 25 fixed paylines in play here, and we think it’s fair to say the game developer has outdone themselves here, in terms of graphics; the game looks great, the audio soundtrack is captivating, and even the win animations are sublime! You’ll find cascading reels within the game – meaning you can win an unlimited number of times on every spin – and the free-spins bonus allows you to win up to 100 free bonus rounds!

Mother of Horus: The online gambling world is filled with slots based in Ancient Egypt – and Mother of Horus is another to add to the (ever-growing) list. The game is built around a 5X3 format, and there’s a total of 50 paylines in play, so it’s quite a low variance game when compared to many of Red Rake Gaming’s other slots. The main attraction of Mother of Horis is arguably the free-spins bonus, where it’s possible to win a staggering 2,500X your stake – per SPIN! There’s also a mini Roulette game and nudging wilds, both of which add to the overall excitement.

Gustav Minebuster: Gustav Minebuster is one of Red Rake Gaming’s more unique titles – and it’s a theme we don’t see that often in video slots; you’ll be heading down into the depths of a mine, and you’re tasked with helping Gustav uncover great treasures including gems and diamonds. The game is built around an 8X8 format, and it’s a “cluster pays” game mechanic in play here, meaning paylines are irrelevant; simply match clusters of symbols to form a win. The game also benefits from re-spins, and there’s a free spins bonus on offer too, although it can be very hard to trigger!

777 Heist: 777 Heist puts you directly in contact with a fearsome gang of robbers, and you’ll be working alongside them to try and get your hand on the most valuable treasure in the world! This enchanting slot is set within a museum, and it’s built around a 5-reel, 5-row format. In order to enter the main bonus round, you’ll need to collect various pieces of artwork – so it’s a collection-based free spin mechanic here. It’s possible to win up to 1,667X your total stake per spin, so, like many of Red Rake Gaming’s slots, 777 Heist offers up some great win-potential. The graphics and animations are all superb too, capturing the theme of the game and making it well-worth a play!

Solomon: The King: Solomon: The King, is a 6X10 video slot, making it one of the most unusual-looking game formats you’ll have seen in quite some time. It’s also one of Red Rake Gaming’s most volatile slots, offering a staggering maximum win of 20,000X your stake – that rivals the likes of Push Gaming’s Jammin’ Jars! There’s up to 1 million winning ways on offer in Solomon: The King, taking Red Rake Gaming’s popular Megaways take into action once again, and cascading reels mean that it’s possible to enjoy unlimited wins during both the base-game and the free-spins bonus.

Secrets of the Temple: Secrets of the Temple is another new release from Red Rake Gaming, first hitting online casinos in 2020. Like virtually all of their recent HTML5 releases, the graphics are impeccable, and you’ll be joining an attractive female adventurer as she goes searching a sacred temple for lost treasures. The game’s built around a 5-reel, 3-row format, and there’s 243-ways-to-win here, so you don’t need to worry about paylines! Like most Red Rake Gaming slots, you’ll also find a pretty lucrative free-spins bonus, during which stacked wilds and wild multipliers (of either 2X or 3X) appear.

1st of the Irish: No slot developer would be considered proficient without an Irish-themed slot in their portfolio, and that’s why Red Rake Gaming developed 1st of the Irish. (Clearly, Luck of the Irish had already been taken!) This game is built around a 6X5 format, and it uses a cluster-pays mechanic, so paylines are irrelevant. There are five different metres to fill up, and once you fill one up you’ll be awarded a special bonus round. There’s also a free-spins feature, where your total winnings can be multiplied, offering some great win-potential.

Red Rake Gaming’s portfolio of slots is diverse, and they’re releasing new games fast. They look to be set on giving other major developers like NetEnt, Quickspin and Big Time Gaming a run for their money, and it’s clear that – as they enter new markets – they’ll be looking to make even more of an impact.

Special Features

Tournament ToolLike many game developers, Red Rake Gaming have opted to build a range of promotional and useful tools into their games, and one of their most recent is their tournaments feature. This allows players to participate in progressive slot tournaments which span across all of Red Rake Gaming’s title, and it gives players the chance to turn their spins into prizes. Players are also able to track their results, thanks to a real-time data feed.
Red Rake Gaming also allows you to “replay” previous game rounds. For example, if your game round cuts out mid-game, you can load up the game again and you’ll be able to view a special replay of the bonus. This is especially useful for those situations when your internet connection drops mid-bonus, and you want to know what actually ended up getting!

Pros

  • Red Rake Gaming offer a very diverse portfolio, and you’ll find games covering a huge number of genres; they’re also not afraid to “branch out” and stray away from classic, generic themes, so expect to see something different in each of their releases!
  • Their games tend to offer pretty decent win-potential, with many giving you the chance of winning more than 2,000X your stake per spin.
  • Red Rake Gaming also offers a variety of other games, including Video Poker, Blackjack, Roulette and Video Bingo.

Cons

  • Their game-range isn’t as large as most providers
  • Non-slot titles are scarce, and uncommon
  • Some of their games are very low-variance
