I think it has to be pre-determined, if the chances of picking the stars were 'natural' then the top progressives would be getting paid out all the time.

Yep, you win 3 free spins with those two wilds expanded and stuck for the duration and on reel 3 you can spin in the other stacked wild which pays x2. In all those shots I had also got the middle wild with either a ring (highest symbol) or a rose on reel 1. Would have loved to have landed he 5th one as it would have paid a lot more.
