Why does everyone hate RTG?

Ok maybe not everyone, but a lot of people seem to.

I browse through the posts and see a lot of RTG hate, and I would like to know why. To me it is the platform I seem to do the best on, maybe that is because I prefer VP to slot play.

So I kind of wanted to get some opinions/info about why RTG is not really liked by the experts here.

Thanks!

I like RTG. I have won a lot more than I lost on RSVS slots.

There are several things that makes many threads look bad when it comes to RTG. I will give you the two biggest.

1: Many rogues

Check the rogue section here:

https://www.casinomeister.com/rogue-casinos/

You will see a lot of RTG casinos there. It seems like RTG approves almost everyone to use their software.

Just to balance it up a bit you can look at the good RTG casinos here:

https://www.casinomeister.com/accredited-casinos/

2: All rumours about their RTP-settings.

There are plenty of rumours about RTG casinos who can change their RTP-settings whenever they want. Players think that when they are in the final stage of the wagering requirements the casino lower the RTP setting to make sure you cant win.

Of course these rumours are NOT true. Other software like MG and Rival has same "dips" in RTP as the mentioned ones.

Another thing about RTG is that some casinos/software producers have admitted that there are 3 different settings at RTG.
Other software producers have not been an object for these rumours at all.

I do play at the accredited CM RTG's , maybe that is why I have not run into anything that would trigger dislike for them.
Here is hoping it stays that way!

BTW Maphesto...I have a headache also (today at least:().

I love RTG games - They do have more Rougue casinos then any other software, but I like the games and will continue to play at the good ones.

There are others relating to business practice too.

The software itself is good, but......

1) Max cashouts everywhere. This means many big wins get confisacted simply because your lucky day coincided with you using a coupon with a max cashout. This does NOT happen at MGS.

2) Phantom bonuses - despite WR being pretty large, the bonuses are phantom in most cases (there are exceptions, such as iNetBet).

3) Bonus bans - increasing reports of bonus bans, and NOT just for blatant "bonus abuse" strategies. iNetBet, for example, are banning LOSING players purely because they are getting too much "free entertainment" for their money by taking too many coupons with their deposits.
Bonus banning WINNERS is a different matter, it's pretty common, although operators tend to give out a load of Bullshit, rather than admit a player has been bonus banned simply for winning more than the house threshold from their account.

On a positive note, there has recently been an increase in the number of good operators running on RTG, this makes it harder for the rogues to monopolise the brand, and gives players plenty of RTG choice without having to take a risk with a rogue operator.

The different RTP settings DO cause negative feeling because whenever a player has a losing streak, they CANNOT be certain it isn't down to the games being on a lower setting than in the past, and there have been contradictory reports from operators regarding when & how such changes are made.

RTG

I agree with Red to some degree, however I certainly don't hate RTG. In fact, it is my fav. place to play. I think that you here so much about it because it is one of the major software providers that we can play (USA) anyway.
Good or bad we talk about it. Theories and all. IMO their games are the best. They can be tight, but so can all of the others.

My main issues with RTG have been max cashouts and lousy bonuses. As I dont do any two tier betting I get no value from the bonuses. So basically their promotions.

And most of the rogues fall under the Virtual umbrella. If you dont count them they have about as much bad casinos as Playtech and MG.

Edit: good point slotheadlizard about why they are discussed so much.

I think Maphesto nailed it.

There's one more point I'd like to mention - RTG (the software provider) allowing rogue operators to start and continue online casinos. It seems like they'll license to anyone, and their dispute service....I dunno, I've never had to use it myself, but I haven't heard good things.

That applies to pretty much every software provider. Playtech, MG, Netent etc, as long as they pay the software provider. The only exeptions being Cryptologic and Wagerworks.

I don't "hate" RTG - I'm not sure I've heard much hate here for RTG as a brand. As others have pointed out, many of the rogue casinos are RTG.

I like aspects of RTG, as Rival and MG, as well. Same with 3Dice or even Top Game. There are things I don't like, as well, such as the Random Jackpot - I would prefer playing on a version of the games withOUT the random jackpot, as it inevitably would raise the RTP percentage, making the game more fun, IMO.

It is not hate you are reading, it is frustration from the players.

I agree...the elusive random jackpot is a sore subject for many of us. I would love to have a casino that has sister casinos offer slots without this in the games or have casinos tiered with offerings where you can choose which casino you want to play at where randoms pop at certain levels or they have none at all...like Intercasinos does...in at least one of the sister casinos since so many RTG's are joining forces. This would increas busines tremendously IMO..

I know I would return to play again if they had it setup this way.
.

I have lowered the amount of deposits to the rtg casinos for well over a year now. I still prefer their games over microgaming. I rarely use a bonus with my rtg deposits, and I just found I could go well over 40 spins without one single hit from their games.

If it wasn't for RTG I probably would have given up long ago. The two RJ's I've hit offset the fact that I almost never cash out anywhere.

When I play slots its equal time between MG and RG, a bit less playing on Rival. I havent beaten those slots the way I want.;)

Agree about that max cashout is too bad.

Max cashouts on deposits are bad in another way too. The confiscated win over the max is used..where?
When total rtp is calculated these money probably are forgotten about and the system thinks its paid to players. The casinos official RTP shows shows as 97% instead of maybe 93%.

However, the average Rival is much worse than the average RTG when it comes to max cashouts. Even rogue RTG has a lot of No max cashout coupons. But as someone else said here before, they dont have to have a max if the player doesnt get money at all..:D

2) Phantom bonuses - despite WR being pretty large, the bonuses are phantom in most cases (there are exceptions, such as iNetBet).

Agree on this one as well, but the average Rival is worse than the average RTG.

Lately we have seen strange things with RTG operators. One operator doesnt want a player to deposit without bonus and another bonus ban losing players.

iNetBet have cashable bonuses and are afraid of advantage players. I can see their point. But its always annoying for players to see that other players can use offers you cant use.

The different RTP settings DO cause negative feeling because whenever a player has a losing streak, they CANNOT be certain it isn't down to the games being on a lower setting than in the past, and there have been contradictory reports from operators regarding when & how such changes are made.

I am sure that all software providers use almost similar "effects" but the fact that all people "know" that the operator can ask RTG to lower settings makes people wonder.

Personally I dont care of this at all. I dont want to call all online slots "rigged" but I am sure that the RTP differs from time to time at most casinos. What it is that "triggers" lower and higher RTP I dont know but I think that a "bigger" win lowers it.

If I have 20 freespins on MG and I win a lot on the second spin I most times automatically never win much on the last 18 spins.
Its like the RTP gets lower after that win. The system thinks you have won enough.

Its the same with the bonus game on Wealth Spa where you can save many bonus coins and use them when you want. If you then take the cheapest bonus game and take it several times in a row the first one always is best paid.

When the RTP "returns" to the normal state again I dont know. Maybe it accumulates all players bets or it is based on time. I do know that after a win your bet on a slot machine I change machine and can return after a while and win some more.

On Rival slots you can see that games "look different" when you lower or higher your bet. It seems really strange to see more bonus symbols an wilds when you increase your bet.

Its probably because they use same thing as MG but they have one "curve" for each bet. If you win big on a 60 coint bet you dont have to change machine, you can increase or decrease your bet.

On MG and RTG you can often "feel" that the game has a high RTP at the moment and you can heavily increase your bet to really win money.

Agree with Maphesto and VWM.

RTG have too many rogues using their software to be taken seriously. There are some very good operators I do trust (CWC, iNetBet, Bodog and Intertops spring immediately to mind), but no other software provider would let Virtual and (ex)Cloud keep their licences after what's gone on there in the past and that undermines any trust I might have had for the software provider themselves. If RTG had a casino themselves, I wouldn't go near it because of that. So to answer your question: Trust. Key factor.

As for playing, the main thing for me is Bet Size, you go from $2 - $5 - $10 - $20. That doesn't work for me. I like to play 50 spins, then increment if I dont hit the bonus, but not by that much. They need to have at least $1 increments inbetween to bridge the gaps. I would also prefer them without the Random Jackpots.

Hello, hello! Thank you for the kind words about Bodog, but I just want to clarify that the casino software licensed to Bodog brand licensees is no longer accurately described as the RTG Casino product. Some more details below:

*BodogBrand acquired the rights to the RTG Casino source code in early 2007 and since then the product has been significantly enhanced and has undergone continuous development.

*Today, the casino platform licensed to the Bodog brand licensees is effectively a wholly proprietary product.

*The difference between the game portfolio and look and feel of standard RTG licensees and the Bodog brand licensees proprietary product will be increasingly apparent as new games are added and developed.

*The proprietary products Casino RNG was certified by Gaming Associates as recently as April of 2008.

Let me know if you have any questions!

The best casinos that accept USA players are rtg casinos. Personally I love RTG more and more.
