I love his stuff. You should listen to the www.di.fm chillout channel - he features on that a fair bit. You'd also LOVE the stuff off the Ultimae label - www.ultimae.com - I have the entire CD collection - fantastic chillout and ambient stuff - mostly a bit more downtempo than this but especially the albums by Solar Fields.

DJ Earworm

This guys some kind of savant when it comes to mixing tunes.... Make sure to listen all the way through to spot everyone :)

btw... why is it I HATED 80's music all through the 80's, 90's and 00's... but now I cant get enough of it? What happened to me?

Winehouse

Reading about her death... I really couldn't remember her music so I had to go to youtube. Great voice. Musically, reminds me of do-wop with other old rock and pop mixed in. Strange mix, but not unpleasant.

I was doing the same thing - I was never a fan, the one song of hers that I heard the most I didn't really care for, but I quite like this one. And she looks really healthy here too. Kinda tragic considering....

It is sad, as I find her voice really interesting. So much more depth than the many female singers around whose voices have no depth and sound rather like my 4th grade music teacher with her weak little girl voice. LOL

Agree...First song I heard by her was *you know i'm no good.* Liked her style from the start. For some reason I never really started listening to more of her music though.

I read mommymachines topic and this song got into my mind, don't know why cause it's not my favorite song of theirs, and now I'm all sad..
anyhow, this one's for you machinemum. (and a little for temperance fox as well)

DiFM's Chill Out channel, via the 3Dice client software! :)

I've listened to that pretty much every working day for the past 3 years :) You should check out www.ultimae.com - several of the artists release on that excellent label. I bought the entire catalogue over time. Stand-outs for me are Cell, Solar Fields, Carbon Based Lifeforms, H.U.V.A, Aes Dana and Asura (CBL) but they also have the fantastic Oxycanta compilation on CD. In fact every single CD is quality.

Anyhow, reason I'm here is that I re-discovered an old classic in the car today. Volume cranked up - every track a gem: Nevermind by Nirvana

I think we have to go back to find the real good music.
And I think you have to know the "old" music to see we're living bad times

Bad times, true, but if you lived in a time before it came out, you had it worse :D

bb28----You're taking me back! Oh the 80s. The best decade IMO for music.

I know, :D it's got to be one of the best EVER.

Here's one of my favorites--rarely seen. She was and is a Class Act!
