I got today a nice email

"We regret to inform you that Vernons has suffered a security incident and some of your personal data has been revealed to an unauthorized person. "

Went into livechat this is what they told me :
This was an external intrusion using malicious software. Such intrusions effectively mean that they penetrated a system in such a way to go undetected by the various controls in place in accordance with existing practice and legal requirements. These cyber-attacks are unfortunately not uncommon in the online world. This is why we are working together with police authorities in order to detect the criminal or criminals that committed this and protect ourselves from further similar incidents. Unfortunately, we are not at liberty to disclose any further information as that would risk undermining the ongoing investigation.

As per PCI-DSS, we do not keep any CVV data, all credit card number are pseudonymised and the key encryption is held in a hardware security module. All payment details are stored separately to the data which has been compromised. Also, in order to access payment details additional verifications steps are necessary, and the unauthorised person was not able to perform these actions. Hence, our investigation has established with certainty that these have not been accessed by the unauthorised person.

Very Nice News Right? take care of your data folks!

This must have happened a while ago surely? As Jackpot247 and Supercasino are under a different license aren't they to Vernons? I didn't get an email from casinoeuro so presumably its limited to the three? I remember complaining to j247 and vernons ages ago about spam sent to my email addresses I had used to sign up with them, they insisted they hadn't leaked them.

Live chat don't like going into many details!
They became aware of the breach on 8/1/2020 but wouldn't say when it happened
ahh cool to know mate, so they will tell me the needed 9 days to inform a player to change pw and all other stuff ?? 9 days security loses for me , what if they made accounts with my details on other gambling sited ? what is if they register something on my name and i need to pay for that ? wow just wow

@Betsson-Group
thank you betsson for these lousy security standards of your subsidiaries or whatever you want to call it or like, the fact is you have to do with what is not very serious! do i get any compensation? Ever heard of data protection? I'm sure there are security measures from the licensor that you have not complied with,
Thanks for this Ripp-Off ,
you care so much, no answer so far? it doesn't seem to matter to you

@goatwack , yeah youre right

Got same email jackpot 24/7 1 hour ago

We can confirm that the unauthorised person has been able to access your username and name, email address, telephone number, residential address, date of registration and some internal activity classifications that are not of relevance to the unauthorized person.

Obviously a security breach is serious, not excusable and something they should respond to.

But exactly why should this mean they have to refund all your deposits?

And for the love of God, contact their support if you want your account deleted, not the casino rep.

Sure you don't want another 20k as well just to help compensate for the stress it has placed you under and the counselling you will need to seek to help you get over it.:rolleyes:

I don't see why they would refund your deposits. That's not something they would do.

In regards to your "data removal request" then you should probably contact their DPO (data protection officer) which is Dr. Olga Finkel.

You can find the contact information on their privacy policy page on Betsson groups website.

And something they cannot legally do.

Great!

This is the reason why I would never supply information to any casino in response to a SOW request,
I dont know where this data would be stored,did the hackers have access to it as well.

Glad I wasn't forgotten as an ex-customer, which leads me to assume certain casinos keep info even after accounts are 'closed'

So basically robbed when playing, robbed when not playing

They have to keep them for around 5 years after account closure, then you have to request they delete the data for them to do so. This is why I have such an issue with casinos refusing to close accounts, like PlayOjo for example, who tell people they can't and to use RG tools. The 5 years is never up if you do that and you can't insist on data deletion.
