He really likes to spread Covid and just has fights with Fauci over masks. Would think that Paul's training in medical field would give him some knowledge about how things work...guess not!

Yeah democrats did pass the relief bill all by themselves. No support from republicans as usual. They really should get rid of the filibuster and start doing more things since republicans only know how to obstruct.

But yeah has your tea party people come up with anything in the last 10 years that might help ordinary people?

The Tea party is not really an active thing anymore I believe, they were about more than individual policies, but basically less govt would sum it up. Whereas the dems seem wedded to the idea more govt is the solution to everything. Without changing anything else, this simply drives national debt upwards faster.

Rand knows Fauci is not a straight hitter re covid, and can't resist challenging him on various things to try to catch him out.

It feels like a joke when they talk about the national debt. All of them were happily adding to that with their massive tax cuts for the rich people and insane spending for the military. Would think you need less money for the military if you are withdrawing from everywhere.

well yes, but is Joe going to re-jig the tax system to make it fairer, I know there are federal and state taxes, so it's a bit more complicated than the uk picture.

Tucker still keeps questioning them and wonder who really don't like to get vaccinated...yeah it's the Trump people. Why should he get credit for a vaccine that he doesn't even promote? Trump took it in secret in january.

Trumps loves promising things for sure. Like a wall paid by Mexico...beautiful healthcare plan (repeal and replace)...virus gonna disappear like a miracle...he's gonna get sooooooo many deals done. Like that's his thing right? Negotiating! Making deals! What a clown.

If I was an american: get people vaccinated, introducing single-payer healthcare even by a bit. I think they are doing that with Covid so people get some taste of it. Investing in green energy, finally doing something about the infrastucture, getting H.R. 1 passed and statehood for Washington D.C.

As a european: Really going after Russia with european allies (if they still want allies) would be helpful so they don't get to do whatever they want. Less military spending and more spending for public schools so for example teachers don't need to pay stuff from their own pockets. They really need to get more education there and leave religion out of it.

yep I should have added that, for americans it must seem a bit weird and pushy to see non-americans discuss their nation as we do, as though we live there and pay taxes!

what happens in the US does reverberate globally, in the uk it's frequently on the tv news and papers, culturally and historically we have strong ties.

I think though looking at your list I should have asked first what you see as the main problems, the big stuff, as I'm not sure this list would change much of the long term problems as I see them [drugs, homelessness, crime, unemployment etc..] unless the key is the end of the filibuster.

Saying that I wouldn't disagree re more education and some kind of healthcare reform to make it more affordable but not lose the level of standards they have, and less military spending also though that does act as a giant employment scheme, with training that can probably be used in careers aftewards, eg.engineering, technology etc..

But @Steviedoo you are missing the most important point - Trump was a Republican and could do no wrong, even though he is the only President in history to be impeached twice.
Biden, on the other hand, is a Democrat and therefore he is the spawn of Beelzebub himself, and all who align with him are obviously out to feather their own nest... obviously The Donald and his clan would never do anything like that

But surely there is a difference between money earned before coming into office than that earned while in office? It is the money earned while in office and money earned after being in office that deserves the focus as far as profiteering from being in a position of power that we are talking about?
Otherwise for transparency every person that goes into government deserves having their wealth scrutinized officially before taking office

I am not a Trump apologist.
I have also clearly stated many times that any and all signs of corruption and wrongdoing should be fully investigated.
That includes quite obviously those you mentioned above.
Can I ask why you keep ignoring me and instead you consistently request me to argue a case in point that is not my own?

I am giving you an example that if Bill O Reilly is going to make a point of talking about making money while In office than one should mention all those that I did mention and probably more. Those were but a few examples. They just happen to be the ones I can name off cuz they just left office and are fresh on my mind.

Mom is happy to be vaccinated.
She sat out this election. She couldn’t bring herself to vote for Trump but there was no way to vote for Biden. absolutely none.

She is really hoping Nikki Haley will run and win in 2024. so she can stick it to the Dems about having the first female president.

Someone needs to tell rupar and other liberals the justice dept is part of the establishment, trump and any allies seeking power are viewed as a threat. Gaetz is not going to get any special treatment by the doj, unlike epstein, who did for many years due probably to his many connections with the rich and powerful.

Whether the story is true or not I don't know, but sex trafficking is a term I'd use for pimping and smuggling, [esp from the 2nd and 3rd world] so the headline writers are seizing on that term to inflict the most damage; reading between the lines it relates to paying for someone's flight and hotel costs, but if they can walk away at any time is that the same as trafficking?

Could be like an intern situation, we live in a highly sexualised world, also politics is power and that attracts females, if he's taken advantage of that he'll be cast to the wilderness and his potential career as a serious trump republican will end shortly.

edit: just watched the 2nd clip where he brings tucker into the story, that don't look good, very strange thing to do, talk about clutching at straws.

The legal term for what he allegedly has done might be sex trafficking, I don't know. It could be "clickbait", but that aside sex with a minor is even in Florida forbidden.

Anyway, establishment or not: apparently this investigation already began when Trump was still in office and his appointee Bill Barr the AG. Gaetz makes it out like it's the current admin that's going after him because he's a Trumpeteer.

Apparently he is considering taking a job with Newsmax and quitting politics. Don't know if that's true either but it was reported a day or 2 ago.

Having watched both clips, I think he's made a big error of personal judgement, even if he is cleared of the worse aspects of the accusations, people remember and they're not going to endorse him in political campaigns. He always came across as a bit different to the typical republican, flamboyant might not be the right word but that sort of thing, the gelled hair and suits he wore.

Used to work with someone who wore so much gell you could have hit him with a bat (and many tried/wanted to) and the bat would come off worse.

But agree, those gellsters are ones for the watching; same as those who come in with jumpers over their shirts :p

Did you see the full segment? My guess is Tucker bumped what was scheduled to give Gaetz the air time since the story only broke 2 hours earlier.

No I hadn't seen the full clip, interesting yet strange, where he says there's been attempted extortion from an ex doj employee, I can't help thinking that is a solicitor [us attorney] trying to get a 'civil' claim payoff for their client, then again if it's a criminal matter are they allowed to do that, it does tiptoe into blackmail territory, if the attorney was up to no good surely (as a ex doj) they would know the risk of a wire being used to record conversations had in person.

Gaetz didn't seem overly anxious about it, so maybe he has done nothing wrong, but I still feel this is career ending unless he receives a full apology and acquittal from the media and doj, but if he gets a mueller report type conclusion, that will be no good for his career. I could see him on tv, he's personable enough and charismatic in a way, he should steer clear of newsmax and go for OANN imo.

And there is more new accusations about Hunter coming out very soon about Hunter using his fathers influence in order to get someone off of charges. Again evidence directly related to evidence on his laptop.
But as his father is in charge all of the charges will simply melt away.
I don't know what the outcome of the investigations into Gaetz will be but I could not find much trust in a guy his age engaging with a 17 year old when he is supposed to be upholding the law and setting an example
