Unlicenced casino debit chargeback

Hi all,
New to the forum and hoping for a little advice.
I'm looking to file a chargeback with my bank for debit card transactions made to Ridika and Bronze casino.
I know they're blacklisted and operating illegally within the UK (unaware of this at the time of deposits).
I have spoken to my bank.
At first they didn't want to know, however after fighting them a bit about gambling services still being protected like regular services under the consumer rights act etc, they have allowed me to submit a claim.
They advised me that the retail disputes team may still look at this as a legal issue in which case I'll most probably be directed to trading standards and they may not be able to deal with it any further.
They have asked for a list of all deposits with proof of transactions, a copy of the retailers T&C's and a cover letter with detailed explanation of why I'm raising a dispute, including what was purchased and how the retailers written representations do not match the terms of sale for the service.
I don't want to push the whole legal side too much as I'm worried they'll divert me straight to trading standards regarding licencing.
I just want a clear case that they have misrepresentated a service to me in breach of consumer rights and that the transactions should be returned.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers,

Rachel

What is the basis for charging back? Did they not provide a gambling service to you or refuse to pay winnings without good reason?

Or are you rather opportunistically trying to claw your gambling losses back because these casinos are not licensed in the UK? If so be careful you don't trash your credit/debit card reputation.

Bronze have been stalling me for three weeks regarding a £400 cashout.
I'd also argue that when you pay for gambling services, you should recieve legal services at bare minimum. So the whole "paid for a game, recieved a game" argument seems void, as transactions were illegally processed.

The problem is that you decided to play at an unlicensed casino and now got little recourse to enforce, well, anything at all. Good luck getting anything legal done in Curacao.

These casinos know you have no standing and will stall you forever. There are plenty of others who will sign up and keep this filth profitable.

I didn't choose to play at an unlicenced casino.
A few Google searches displayed they accepted UK players, their live chat also confirmed this.
I've made a mistake, quite clearly. But it happens, I'm only human and just looking for a little advice on what to do now regarding my bank and claiming a chargeback.
Not legal prosecution.
It seems other people have done the same and I'd be interested to know how they went about it.
Thanks

You played with casino who don't have UK license which pretty much can be taken that it was your decision to do it. It really can much more to be legal issue than just a chargeback if you have been depositing and playing there.

Don't really see much chargeback issue here except if you haven't received something you have paid for. You said your bank wasn't really sure how they would process it and what's going to be happening and it can pretty much be true, easiest would just accept that you deposit, played and lost than start to chargeback all deposits you ever been making there as there seem not to be other reason for that but claim your deposits back.

Legal routes to Curacao.... Probably at least be ready to wait quite a long to hear anything and still might not be much what you are hoping. They are operating there and there might not be much to do, as you see, they keep operating there years after years and accepting players from almost everywhere to play in Curacao.

The chargeback issue is they have misrepresented their service as being available in the UK, accepted an unlawful transaction and allowed me to play knowing I can't withdraw winnings as they hold no licence.
It wasn't what I was lead to believe I was paying for.
That's the premise of the chargeback.
I've made thousands in deposits to other casinos, never once tried to claim back losses because they were fair and transparent. I play what I can afford but believe I haven't recieved the service I paid for. That's all.

Considering these are illegally operating casinos people are very quick to jump on my case that I'm in the wrong.

They operate under Curacao license, they are not regulated in UK which is quite clear as they don't hold UKGC license which would be showing in their site if they would have one. I don't know how you have been mislead and that you wouldn't be able to withdraw your winnings but if there's anything like that happened, would contact regulators at Curacao as they have not much to do with anything in UK.

I think nobody just haven't really understood that why you are willing to process this chargeback as you in first place have decided to play in offshore casino who don't hold UK license and now decide that you don't want to play there and claim all your deposits back.

If they don't owe you money, i assume most of people just wouldn't deposit there more but some other casino who are holding UK license and forget this one. If they owe you money, then trying to claim your winnings is or course right but chargeback just sounds really weird in these grounds.

Be very careful if the casino supplies evidence to your bank during the investigation period showing that you played and lost your money u will end up with a CIFS marker on your credit file.
Put there by your bank and whilst It’s on your file U won’t be able to get any form of credit or insurance
Forget about it and move on you deposited to an unlicensed casino.

Forgive me but I feel you're going to charge back regardless of advice given on here, hope I am wrong but.....

I'd take this one on the chin and be more selective in where you chose to play moving forward, the accredited list on here is a great place to start

I'm very much undecided at the minute.
I can appreciate what everyone is saying, and the advice about my credit file etc.
I'm just far too fiesty to roll over and accept I've been scammed by liars.
Feel morally obligated to try and get my money back, considering they're still operating under the premise that people will just accept it and move on. And so the circle continues, kinda thing.

can they do much? Not in their jurisdiction.

Would assume that this is main point that they don't operate in UK but other side of the world. Not sure if there are easy ways to UKGC to do much as these kind of operators been existing quite while and not much have happened to them.

Guess most of people here wouldn't be sad at all if they would totally disappear but not really easy to stop them operating in Curacao and provide their services.

For OP more morally way would be taking that legal route and try to do something to stop them operating instead of only charging back money personally played there.
