Non-Bonus Complaint Unibet confiscated winnings and closed account

I have been betting for months at Unibet with no issues other than some stake restrictions, suddenly my account was closed, i went onto live chat and they said my account has been permanently closed and winnings confiscated (over 2000 euro).

My wife recently created an account with the same address and her account has also been frozen and winnings confiscated. (over 2000 euro)

your winnings have been confiscated im afraid in line with terms 16.6 + 5.2 (vi), (vii) -

The chat agent linked the below when i asked where the terms were specifically breached
Kindly please refer to the following terms - T&C 16.6 Betting Rules: 3) "Syndicate Betting" is an act, prohibited by Unibet, where Account Holders act together to place a bet or series of bets on the same event or competition, or when an Account Holder places a bet on behalf, or for the intended benefit, of another individual or other individuals. Where there is evidence of Account Holders acting together in this manner Unibet reserves the right to make the relevant bets void and/or withhold payment of returns pending the outcome of subsequent investigations to determine whether (in Unibet’s sole opinion), Syndicate Betting has taken place.

Obviously they suspect i am the one also placing bets on my wife's account, but what evidence is there of this? my wife's account had all verification documents relevant to her uploaded also

They mentioned about ecogra or something to make a complaint.

How should i proceed for both mine and my wife's account, (obviously we would proceed on each others own behalf), will we have a case? I am based in Ireland so can't go to Uk gambling commission?

My guess is that it is connected to having two accounts in the same household.

Your options at Casinomeister are:

1. DM the rep - Unibet doesn't have one, so that's not an option

2. Submit a complaint and see if our highly-trained team can assist.

3. Hope that someone has an answer for you in the thread.

Of these options, 2 seems like it is your best hope. There are rules if you do submit a complaint, so be sure to read through those before pursuing.

If they have established in their minds any collusion between both accounts then they are well within their rights to sieze winnings and void bets, returning stakes.

An example would be 'laying off' bets in conjunction with each other to gain an advantage, or both betting on the same event to bypass betting limits or caps.

Seeing it from their point of view I would likely do the same as Unibet did, and I believe most other casino/betting sites would. Had you both been doing this each using a different site, no foul probably. At the same site, definitely.

They've acted within their terms you agreed to when signing up and those terms are not unfair so I am suggesting eCogra would've backed them had you been able to use that arbitrator.

As stated above, you can use the CM PaB process but I think your chances of the outcome you want are slim to non-existent just by your version of events in the OP.

I am also noticing your sense of injustice where you say:

and that misses the point altogether because the level of verification across both account holders is irrelevant to your complaint, the issue is not verification but the activities across both verified accounts.

There was absolutely zero crossover on events being gambled on either account. One was exclusively horse racing, the other bet on only soccer and other miscellaneous sports

You can try and submit a complaint, but our team may not be able to take it on as it is not related to online casino. There are plenty of forums that deal with sports betting, that you may want to try, punters lounge springs to mind.

It also sounds like Unitbet recommended you go via Ecogra (ecogra.org). They have their own arbitration service, which I believe is free for you to pursue. That maybe the best option overall for you.
