With all the horrendous, and few good (gameplay stats) safer gambling implementations the UKGC have enforced, they still allow the max bet button to persist right next to the spin button on many providers?
Yesterday with £24 left in the balance playing 20p a spin I accidentally click it, and tonight with £136 balance, again playing 20p a spin, missus rings so put auto-clicker on, glance at the screen to see insufficient funds message (probably 20 seconds later).
I'm content to click one spin at a time, but they must've known that removing autoplay would make most players resort to other/auto clicker means, especially with the low bonus frequency (plus harsh and boring base gameplay) on most newer games, and therefore when distracted or going to the toilet (plus with every second and spin counting due to limited playtime at alot of sites) other means would be used. Their combined safer gambling functions have actually made it more dangerous.
I'm not gonna get tilted and am content/expect to lose my deposits majority of the time (I wouldn't deposit otherwise) but tonight especially, I've been robbed of a few hours of entertainment (500x stake original deposit) and the past two days I've lost £120 for 6 spins the I did not intend to make. Coincidentally, the large stake spins made in error never win, I wouldn't have complained if a big win or bonus rolled in but typically this never happens.
How can the UKGC take aim at elements of gambling that do not protect the player yet ignore those; mainly pointless functions (what % of players actually find the Max Bet button useful); that do affect their safer gameplay, yeah I should've been more careful, but the Max Bet option shouldn't exist in the first place. If I order a pint from the bar, I don't also receive a pint of poison right next to it.
