TV 2019

Has anyone watched 'The Passage' (currently on Fox, first season)

Thoughts please?
Yes, Borgie mentioned it, watched the first 3 or 4 episodes, pretty good stuff thus far. Reminds me a bit of The Strain

Have a subscription to Netflix, which has some pretty damned good series on, e.g.

Altered Carbon - brilliant. Would love a 2nd series, but I don't see how Joel Kinnaman could be in it.
Secret City - Australian political drama (but please don't hold that against it.)
Glitch - another Aussie series. A little like The Returned, but far more compelling.
Wynonna Earp - Modern day western supernatural. Doc Holiday keeps me coming back.

So many series, so little time.

PS: Just found this thread. Don't know how I missed it.

I don't know how obscure this one is to everyone, but there is a Netflix German TV Show called Dark, Now usually when I watch non English speaking Movies/Tv Shows I prefer to have the original spoken language and have subtitles up (Because I can't really stand dubbing), but with this I could only find English dubbed (Which I aslo used subtitles with, because I always use English subtitles even if the movie is in English language ). The dubbing was actually pretty good.

Anyway, this TV show is absolutley fantastic Television making and you will be sucked into the script from the first episode. One of my favourite TV shows ever made and I can't wait for Season 2 to see where they go with it.

They have it down as a "Family Drama" but it is so much more than that and it will be the "Mystery" that draws everyone into it.

For anyone who liked Stranger Things, this has a similar style but very different and actually better.
Dark is great, also waiting for the next Season! :)

Other than that...
Waiting for more Narcos, Black Mirror, Blacklist, Altered Carbon :D

Vikings cancelled!

A shame about Travellers and Counterpart being canx. Really luv those two shows.

Apparently Netflix has cancelled the Marvel series due to the launch of the Disney channel which will pick them up. Just hope I can get to them by other means, as I am NOT subscribing to another bleeding channel.

A lot of these series I have never heard of, so again, if Netflix doesn't have them, then I will have to go searching....:D

Really unfortunate that some companies 'have to have' their own say and open up yet another streaming service just for their own shows.. How many subscriptions do they think we are willing to have? At some point people will just go back to pirating and they wont earn a penny...

We have quite a bit smaller Netflix selection in Canada than most countries. Even Cuba offers more shows!

Dark does sound like it would interest me.

I have spent most of the past couple of months watching The Shield (never saw it on first go through), and sitcoms that I can watch the day after on Canadian Stations. Was thrilled to see Brooklyn Nine Nine back.

Dion, CTV has a Throwback section where entire series are available, albeit older titles. They just added Soap, which I loved when it was on. Back then, no VCRs, so if you missed it you missed it. How young the cast were back then is gonna make me feel old.

I am rather sad to see an end to The Big Bang Theory, but I do think it had it's prime, and is a good time to exit.

, season 4 just started on HBO (in NL) --> yummie! :)
yup, watched 1st episode last night - was a good one. :)
American Gods is back, and later this week, final season of Badlands :)

Read today that there is a strong possibility one of my all time faves maybe making a come back in 2019 at some point, namely Prison Break - Season 6.

Anyone else heard anything or have I been 'had'

Never actually watched it. But then again i never watched GOT's till about a month ago when i watched all 7 series lol.

Anyway my good friend google has many reports dating back to early last year saying series 6 is confirmed. Including more recent reports saying they are working on it so you will have to wait and see.

Wonder if my old favourite will ever return. For cutting edge special effects and the best Sci Fi ever made. When will Blakes 7 ever return lol.

If you'rea trekkie (or trekker) they're really expanding the universe, with something like 6 new shows coming.
The Picard one looks to be interesting, but love Michelle Yeoh, so more stoked for her section 31 series

LOVED TnG, Well Liked Voyager and liked the Original series films only, Quite like the recent remakes (the ones with young cast but same characters from original series) Well up for some new Star Trek as long as it is along these lines and NOT DS9, Enterprise or similar let down's :(

Lets hope they got these right, Resistance is futile!

Not really feeling this season of GoT, with a mere four episodes to go they're running out of time to wrap it up in a neat little bow.

Plus you know they've run out of material when even Arya gets her rocks off with blacksmith boy :eek2:

But having only just now caught up with American Gods, I can confirm it is indeed a peach of a series

unfortunately, or fortunately I guess for some, as far as I know, the film series is dead in the water
I really, really like Discovery

ya, GoT doesnt seem epic - I was under the impression they were going to do hr and a half episodes to be movieesque

American Gods is awesome :)

It won't, at least not with the old cast if at all. Too much in fighting for it to ever get anywhere unfortunately. Without Terry Nation and Jacqueline Pearce involved it probably wouldn't be great anyway. Sky announced it was doing a couple of episodes alongside B7 Productions about 10 years ago but that never happened. It was also announced the syfy channel would be doing a reboot in 2013, again, didn't happen. Paul Darrow walking away from B7 Productions probably killed any further projects tbh. The Nation estate are known to be difficult about things (we almost didn't have Daleks in Dr Who after it was rebooted) and they are unlikely to go against Paul's wishes on something like this.

Yeah i know it would never return kind of glad as it would never be the same. Mind watching a couple of episodes a year or two ago and realized how bad it really looked lol. But at time when i was dead young it was good. Just seeing the way the Liberator moved across the black background had me laughing. But guess at the time it was made it looked good.

Yeah first 2 episodes of this series have been a bit of a let down. But guessing the rest must be better. Still wondering why WH have Petyr Baelish as 7th favourite to be on throne at the end.

I'd heard a while back in a 'leaked' spoiler that he'd be returning. Let me guess, it was a ruse to see who'd fight for the queen of t'North

Yeah i read a lot of the stuff as well saying how he never got killed as he had paid that woman to act as him as he was connected to the faceless men. Only time will tell i guess.

Oh wow what amazing plot armour

Maybe we can bring all the old cast back, and have Sean Bean saying "Ta-da!!"
