**sigh** I was afraid this was all a pipe dream in the first place.... Tunica desperately needs new blood (casinos) but nothing ever seems to get off the damn ground.

I want someone to come in, build a great casino with great VP and give Harrah's a run for their money.... And I'm sorry, I've lost the link for this story.

If anyone wants it, post and I'll see if I can find the story again.

Setbacks blunt grand plans for Tunica resort
Developers promise Myriad will still be built, but on smaller scale

Developers of the ambitious Myriad Botanical Resort in Tunica hoped to have people gambling at their casinos, staying in their hotels and playing on their golf course by now.
But the project -- the 2004 brainchild of Scott Hawrelechko, a commercial painting contractor based in Edmonton, Alberta (he's no longer a part of the effort) -- has yet to get off the ground.
The venture also is almost $12 million in the hole, according to documents filed with regulators.
The new managers have postponed purchase of the land for the plan, which has been scaled back by about two-thirds from the earlier vision.
Chairman Nick Lopardo said the $1.3 billion version of the project will get done.
"The major thing we've done is we've decided that to build six casinos, six hotels, a convention center and water and snow park to come out of the ground was not realistic," he said.
The new plan: Two casinos with hotels, 125,000 to 150,000 in convention space -- down from 375,000 in the original vision -- with a 600-room hotel, the water-snow park, wellness and health spa, a 6,000-seat covered stadium and a golf course, including the original idea of enclosing the course in a bubble burst.
Myriad agreed to buy more than 500 acres in the northwest part of Tunica county and close on the deal Aug. 1. That was pushed back to Oct. 2.
"We're pretty confident we're going to make that date," Lopardo said.
But, he conceded, it will depend on whether the company raises $200 million in equity by then.
If those pieces fall into place, he said it will take three to four months to get permits needed from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and another six months to build roads and utilities for the property.
"We hope to see vertical (construction) by late spring, early summer," he said.
Myriad has no timetable for getting any of the project built, including the two casinos that will have a Myriad brand name, Lopardo said.
The company's timing isn't the greatest....
