Time to sell NetEnt shares?

'A slot designed by players for players' - that is Unibet's motto, plus I know providers have done this already, as well as Casinos. The problem is that this whole 'Netent is not the same' is not a problem for them, they're still raking it in, they're still successful so it's just moaning from the losing players. Until they themselves have a moment of clarity and realise they're no longer dominating and have not been the industry leaders for some time, it's just going to keep getting worse as far as the games go. But for the majority of Casinos, they know players play Netent games so they're still pushing them. We all just have to stop playing them altogether :)

Not necessarilly. As mentioned I had a right hoot on their older games for the best part of two days. Wins galore, fun & frolics all round.

Go to play their newer shite and lo and behold: it's soul -destroying. And who's to say whether Netent acknowledge their own flaws or company ethic.

But that's not to say longtime players can't lament their obvious decline. Winners can moan too

For me the biggest mistake they made was when they changed 'Dead or Alive' to HTML ,made a few 'adjustments' along the way and made it absolute shit.

The Bonanza release and its (alleged) huge potential meant players who once were firing thousands spins on DOA are now on the BTG slots firing even more spins through them.

There is still a small number of older Netent slots with some potential but most of the new dross you lose 100xbet to trigger a bonus with a 25xbet win , rinse and repeat until you're broke.

A go to slot is no more.

I sold all my shares on Friday (after a fashion with Lloyds Bank) as I didn't get much confidence from NetEnt at ICE. Their shares open this morning at their lowest price since March 2015 (exactly 50% drop) and expect bigger falls when they release the full accounts in a couple of days.

Out of all the software providers I met at ICE, NetEnt was the most disappointing. Even Microgaming have exciting plans for 2018

Is that what they told you?:laugh::laugh:

NetEnt will release a video slot based on the populair 'Viking' TV show by the end of this year, hope that one will be better. I don't like the Planet of the Apes slot, cannot win a dime on that thing, not even in the battles.

I have the "honor" to write reviews for ALL Netent slots and I could indeed use a template to finish a review in less than 5 minutes. I thought maybe Finn and the Swirly Spin or Asgardian Stones would be something more innovative. Instead i see the same every time..... no win, no win, no win, no win with bonus teaser, no win, small win, small win, no win, no win, no win with bonus teaser....etc. After a gazillion teasers then finally bonus round / Free Spins and they pay mostly like 10 - 30x bet.

That will have hardly anyone jumping for joy.

A big part of a good slot is to create an aura that one can win big à la DoA, Rhino or Bonanza. People, including me, will flock in scores to hit the reels and albeit losing 9/10, we still go back time and time again. :D

For those interested, these are the planned titles for the slots Netent will try to entertain us with in the near future: Archangels Salvation, Moonshine Riches, Jumanji, Wild-O-Tron 3000, Electric Wild, Rocky’s Gold, Treasure of Abydos, Hidden Coins of Egypt, Ragna Rock, Swipe and Roll, Fairytale Legends: Snow White, Hotline, Miami Pursuit.

Whether one will be another DoA, Jungle Spirit or Warlords is a big question mark.

Final figures were in line with the profit warning but didn't expect the 35% growth rate of previous years to be barely 5% this time around

Looking forward they say the entire gaming sector is healthy for 2018 and claim they have 30 new casinos/clients launching before the end of the year with a focus on live casino.

As you would expect the share price dropped another 7% (new low) yesterday so glad I got out :)

From what I learnt at ICE, they teased me with the most volatile slot they have made in recent years (should be out August/September) and said unlike Big Time Gaming they will continue to focus on a range of low/medium volatile slots for their core players.

Well given what you say here and the incite Harry gave about the new games pending I shall stick to my old faithfuls from Netent when I decide to play them.
Netent seem to be way too reliant on gimmicks and their past glories for my liking so I will look elsewhere for innovation and excitement when it comes to new slots

this isn't about Netent slots, but the thread is about shares, therefore value.
The other day we had a player win the jackpot on Divine Fortune, so I asked Netent for a video replay of the winning round to advertise, they replied that'll be €500.
Yggdrasil offers video replays on all their rounds, all you have to do is enter the round id in the backoffice.
Conclusion: advertise jackpot wins on Yggdrasil games, and not on Netent. The thing is they would get some value out of us advertising a winning round on their game but it's just another example of how they falling behind others....

Crikey! They offered to sell you a majority shareholding in the company?

One of the guys I work with is moving to NetEnt as Director of Games Product. I told him he has his work cut out. I know what's wrong with NetEnt - it's obvious but whether they can fix it I don't know...
Thanks Trancemonkey. I'm getting up to speed...it takes time ;) It's a really great company with some tremendous potential and people. Just sty tuned. In the meantime feel free to hurl abuse at me for our games, but constructive feedback is better of course!

Net Entertainment can die for all I care. Even if they didn’t block Canada they have tightened their good slots and released a ton of mediocre games the last year. I wager those big wins I got in Dead or Alive, Jack & The Beanstalk, Drive: Multiplayer Mayhem and others in 2016 are much harder to achieve.
We are working on it BrianGhattas! Stayed tuned for this year.

I'd actually argue that with the exception of Jungle Spirit, it's the other way around. Given they run their own casinos I'm pretty sure they know what games work and what don't so you would think that they would know how to stay safe mathematically and how to try the odd risky game.

FYI we don't run our own casinos!

Netent are far too formulaic, there's too many unexciting and dreary, juvenile games. Then you have the 'myth' of Netent Variance, a pernicious way of making the games SEEM low in variance with a maximum win of 400x bet and yet all seem to have my 'egg timer' effect when you play them and they constantly behave like you've just won 2500x...... Playing them is usually death by a thousand cuts. Jungle Spirit they NEARLY got right, but somehow made the base game so eye-wateringly bad that I can't play it any more. The Bullshit Butterflies, same old win multiples of 10.5x, 11x, 13.5x, 18x, 22x 27x, 36x and the rare 45 or 80x. They missed a trick there by restricting the random in-play feature to 80x and thus removing all hope which you may have in say the WD feature. Bonanza made the base game good with some huge potential, and rarer FS but with an average of 100x bet in the final results, in some ways like DoA works.

Thunderkick and Play'n Go continue to make better games that appeal more to the experienced player rather than churn out crap that seems to be aimed at newcomers who try a casino online for the first time so have ELC graphics to ease their new visitors in with. How many Netent games have 400x as the max win, based on the same math model with a few tweaks? They need to start making exciting games, I mean WHAT THE F*CK DID THEY DO WITH TWIN SPIN??:mad: There was the chance to maybe make it high-variance and even give a possibility of a full bar/diamond screen for nearly 8000x, but oh no! we got some shit html5 graphics tossed off onto a near-clone of that Oriental-themed block-pay game (the forgettable name escapes me right now) to make a decent slot awful. When push comes to shove they seem to be using the same basic algorithm/math model for all their games nowadays and they all have the same effect - get 50 credits down, you're buggered 95% of sessions.

Big Time Gaming seem to 'hand build' few but good quality games, Netent are production-line dross mainly, the polar opposite. If you look at Netent's first 100 slots you have about 60-70 'new' models, look at their last 100 you have about 15 - this is where they're coming unstuck, players have got wise to it. The innovation has gone and they spew out game after game because they feel they're expected to do so, rather than the fact they enjoy doing it. They get the odd one right like Warlords or The Turd FTUT, but it's a scattergun approach.

Now take Southpark slots for example, popular games both of them. So they lose the license for the theme, so why not (like Playtake did with the Marvel games via the Age Of The Gods series) use the same mechanic and use a bit of imagination for the graphics so their fans get a cheap and exact replacement? No, they're too busy at Mothercare buying books to inspire their next run of game artwork. At the moment other smaller developers are feeding on their bloated corpse.

Some salient ideas Netent! (pass me my fee in used Sterling at ICE next week):

1. Redo South Park Reel Chaos. Players like the game.
2. Don't be afraid to rip-off other developers for proven winners, re. Book Of Dead. This game is popular as the original BoRe Deluxe is a big hit but not many casinos offer Novo, but they all for some reason offer YOUR slots and many offer Play'n Go too - go figure!
3. Why not have rehash some existing games with more potential, i.e. 'Twin Spin Six' again look what Novo did with BoRe......OK admittedly I could drop a bollock here because knowing my luck they'd give us 'St*rb*rst Six' but at least it's a new mechanic.
4. Ditch the pathetic juvenile infantile graphics. It's beyond a joke now and with the games having to be removed from Free Play due to Licensing/RG rules your exposure is being limited.
5. Don't be afraid to do a controversial game like Bonanza - yes, players will come on here and bitch because they're not getting a 150% RTP and a 1000x win every 500 spins, but it's exciting.

Come on!

If you ask nicely I will consider applying to be your Product Director and will seriously improve your revenues with relatively little expense.

Noted dunover! Would you consider a job as Chief Volunteer Games Advisor (once your other contracts have run out of course! :p)

The director of games from netent is here posting

Seems you are interested in player feedback, you should start a thread alot of players here would give you some pretty insightful feedback. I would, but you guys banned netent from Canada for god knows what reason.

Canada regulated - and we had to take a longer route to market - this is the only reason - we miss Canada - but we hope be seeing it again this year! I can only apologise to all of the Canadians out there!

Good idea, I will start a thread soon.

I doubt this guy works for Net Entertainment. Wouldn’t he have asked Bryan for special credentials to prove he’s an employee?

By the time my other 'contracts' have run out Netent would be finished. You need to act now. Like you're acting at working for Netent.

No we did not, Nor have we ever been regulated. They only talked about doing it but never did as they started their own terrible online casino's which are a flop. A quick google search will confirm this, If you or casinos are in a legal jurisdiction than Canada law is not in effect or can be argued. I had a netent employee tell me it was up to the casinos if they offered netent and it was not netent's decision but casinos on here say their licenses were threatened if they did not. So you can go ahead and let us play again, That would be swell. :)

@slotmaster

That would be great...two years ago. Nowadays, nobody seems to want anything to do with Net Entertainment slots and Net Entertainment variance. I did play some Net Ent this year and only one deposit lasted more than 24 hours.

The good news is that maybe there’s signs that Novomatic might be open to letting Canadians play their games.

True 2 years ago would have been great, Ya you never know what they did to them but I had a couple that I did quite well on.

Maybe. But since he quoted trancemonkey, im sure he can confirm if its him

He's not an affiliate, so does he have to prove it (in the same way i haven't had to prove it, although i've met Bryan... so i did prove it regardless)? He's not posting as NetEntOfficial is he - although maybe he should :)

I can confirm that burgstrom is indeed working for NetEnt in the role he says he is... and if you want people to engage from companies that you criticise (and sometimes praise) on here, then attacking them from the off for "lying about where they work" is not a great start.
